Good Morning Everyone......... I've been AWOL for a couple of days with some kind of bug..... felt like I got hit by a mack truck pushed by a couple of locomotives! How to tell I didn't feel well? - I skipped my manicure/pedicure appointment!!!!! Still not the best, but functioning (except for certain parts of me .... been living on Correctol and Psyllium Seed Husk and no results, anyone have a firecracker or stick of dynomite????? )
Well, it happened! DH got that job to do the commercial, just like I told him he would!! WHY you ask, am I mad? Easy, says I! He leaves on Wednesday for 4 days in TORONTO and I can't go with him because I just started my new job!!!!! Doggone it! I was really hoping that I could go with him and maybe get to meet up with some of you (ok, my geography isn't too good, but hopefully some of you chickies are not too far from Toronto!) Oh well, maybe next time!
Ruth..... sooo glad to see you doing so very well; it almost makes me want to run right out and beg my doc to do my left wrist!!
Barb.... prayers, thoughts and hugs go out to you and your family at this difficult time.......
Pooky... glad things seem to be turning around for you
Jif.... Sorry things are so stressful lately, I hope something works out for you with J&J; I've heard that they can be a good company to work for...
Deb... (I think it's you I mean!!).. dh is a hottie! But certainly don't tell him-- he'd get to be too hard to live with!
Everyone else, please forgive my not replying to all posts, there are so many I'm trying to catch up on........ I hope you all have a great day!
Canadian bacon and coffee, sounds good, only Jiff and I, the weight loss surgery patients can't eat and drink at the same time. So coffee first for me!!
Barb, I'm so sorry to hear your Dad is not doing well. He may be stronger than any of you know and pull off a miracle and shock the doctors. I'm thinking good thoughts for your Dad and you.
Jiff, fingers crossed for you!!! You have too much to offer a company to stay with one that does not appreciate you.
dyan, I'm with you, guess Sherrie has my tom too. Sherrie I'm truly sorry, I really don't want it back. Not PG, I had myself snipped after daughter was born 16 years ago, my hubby was too big of a chicken to that In my case my irregular tom is due to the complications I had with the surgery the first part of the year. Dyan your right, the hardest part is not knowing when.
Had rain last night at our football game, the band sat on the hot steamy buses for over an hour. Our show last night was not up to par. Today we have our first competition, hope they do better today. They have a great show this year, instead of the boring stuff the band director usually picks, it's a jazz show. Wish us Luck!!!!
I'll check back in later, have a great Saturday all!
Back! The darn weather went from sunshine and clear skies to gloom and doom black clouds so we missed what might have been our last breakfast on the deck!
Samsgram, sorry you've had the sickies but good news about the commercial for The Man. Um Toronto is a bit far from me - 4.5 hours. Nora and Pooky are closer but still not just a short jaunt. Ontario is a HUGE province - I think it's bigger than Texas.
Debkay, now a jazz show would be of major interest to me. I do love bands! Was the rain an offshoot of the hurricanes?
We had major winds here last night - I parked the vehicles on the road because some of the trees in our lane are kind of "iffy". It's a real pain in the butt to find your car squished under a tree in the morning - kind of ruins the day.
Lucy did very well at Obedience yesterday. Even the instructor was impressed. All the dogs in this class are HUGE. Lucy's newest pal is Isis, a Great Dane! She is definitely not afraid of anyone. *****y Drawers was not there apparently her dog wiped out in the last round of shows. (I tried very hard not to ask if he had barfed and pooped in the ring - my tongue is bleeding from biting it.)
Barb, we are all thinking of you this weekend. Please update us when you can.
Jiff, that job is starting to sound like **** on wheels. I sure hope the J&J thing comes through. It's awful to work under stress for a long period of time even though we all know how tough you are!
LindaBC, looks like Fat Flush is "it" for you. Congratulations! I know how you have been struggling to find the right plan for you. I still have not started it but have all the stuff. I think I will wait until this wrist stuff is over.
Peachie, you are starting to give me the craft urge but I am working hard at resisting. I took up tole painting for a year and got all keen. Anybody want my collection of wooden boxes, egg cups and napkin rings? I may get back at it but do have a few other things on my plate. Who ever said you have more time when you are retired?
Sherrie, so nice of you to take on everyone's TOM! Surrogate TOMing? I wish I still had one to pass over. I hate to admit this but the first time someone mentioned TOM coming in chat, I asked "Is that your BIL?" Duh!
Well, despite the crappy weather, Hershey and I are walking down to the Library this morning. She woke me up at 3 wanting to go out and had a sick tummy so I suspect she is preggers. She seems all better this morning and keen to walk.
Can you tell that I'm thrilled? This morning I'll do some cardio on the exercise bike, then DH and i are going to the movies to see Red Dragon and out to lunch. I would like to eat at this Chinese place at the mall, called P.J.Changs. Debkay, have you ever been there? They have these wonderful Chicken Lettuce Wraps !!!!!!!
Barb~~How is your Dad doing? Prayers go out to you.
Deb~~ A jazz show sounds wonderful . I hope you have great weather for it.
Ruth~~~Try for the breakfast on the deck tomorrow because I'm wishing clear skies your way.
SamsG~~~Glad to see you back but sorry that you have been sick. Have you ever tried Dulcolax tablets? They're small but powerful ! Or possibly a dulcolax suppository, that will help stimulate you to go. Good luck, gal.
Linda~~~ Congratulations on the 8 pound loss I give you alot of credit for hanging in there on the FF for so long!
Oh, I'm all in a tizzy this weekend. Too much to do and just can't get myself organized enough to do it.
First of all, the most important thing is #2 daughter's arrival from Scotland on Monday afternoon. I'm trying to get her bedroom in shape but I had to make a run to get some groceries and then I wanted to tank up the car and that meant a half hour drive because it's 12 cents a liter cheaper in Abbotsford than it is here. I've been making chicken broth because one of daughter's requests is my home made broth with "ball-balls" (pasta shaped like B-Bs) It's a family classic. I'm also trying to get myself ready for my club's Fall Workshop which, wouldn't you know it, is ALSO on Monday so I will have a long day chairing that gathering and then will have to make the 45 minute drive to Vancouver Airport to get the daughter. I think we will both be pretty pooped by day's end. Anyhow, tomorrow I will be doing the vacuum, dusting, bathroom cleaning thing. I've already made my potluck dish for Monday's luncheon and I just have to make something for the bake auction (secretly planning to forget about that as there's always too much anyhow)
Anyhow, enjoy the rest of the weekend, Chickies.
up early, coffee started. Why can't I sleep? Oh, well, it's better to get up and get going. A lot to do today.
Sil mentioned PF Changs? We ate there on Friday night for DH's birthday- it is right aroung the corner from us and we've been meaning to go, and finally tried it. It was good, and not much more expensive than take out! We brought home good leftovers, too!
just hung around yesterday- did some grocery shopping and Target and that kind of thing- and got about 3/4 of the laundry through. Just one more load today, and folding and putting away. I might even iron a few things to make the weekday mornings go better. Well, maybe, maybe not.
Dieting has been out the window. I did buy good food for next week, and I was active but lived on carbs for about 5 days. I kept trying to add my veggies, and did about 1/2 the time. But protein was low, and danish, cereal, rice and bagels were consumed! I am up 2 lbs, and need to get this taken care of PRONTO! Pants are tight. Hate that.
Debkay- on Survivor they kicked out the lazy blonde boy who deserved it, but spent more time on a drama about sexual shenanigans between two others sleeping a little TOO close for comfort! The luxury competition was winning 24 hours with 2 army-type survivalists that helped one team learn how to live better on the island- what they can eat, and how to make bowls and implements out of bamboo and stuff like that. It was pretty cool. Overall, the "older" group is showing their smarts, and the young kids fell apart more- got into fighting and being obnoxious. Cant' wait for Thursday!
What else? hi to all... I know you're out there Peach- you're like me, can't post when you're eating in carb city, right? I feel bad when I'm not even trying- but I have to stay afloat, and this is my only hope!
Hi everyone else- love reading about all our lives!
SamsG, are you drinking enough water? Psyllium without enough water makes things worse for me!
Linda, hope you have fun with your daughter- your soup sounds great!
Hi Dondar- you've been really sailing aong here for a while, haven't you? Congrats on holding on for so long!
Ruth, my mother took a tole painting class- the same pile of unfinished projects went in the yard sale last year!
Morning everyone! What a day yesterday. Cleaning out closets and dresser drawers. What was I thinking when I bought half this stuff??? Anyway, it's on its way out the door right now, and then I have to take dd to the state fair this afternoon. Hopefully she will get pooped faster than me, but somehow I doubt it. I hate going out there. Crowded, stinky, and expensive. I do love to walk through the buildings and check out the art and the quilts. She loves the animals. Maybe we can just skip the rides? Nah!!!!!!!
My day yesterday went from great to terrible. I exercised, visited a craft show with a friend, and then I met hubby at the soccer fields. That's when things started going downhill. The first words out of his mouth were not "Hi dear" but, these guys are playing so sh*tty. Granted they were not having one of their best games, but I could tell that it was going to be one of those days when he focused on the negative. Oh well I will see how long I can avoid him for today.
I will try to have a good day, hope everyone else does!
Just thought I would pop in to say HI!!! I am a newbie and have finally gotten my bottom in gear and am following my food plan pretty good now. I tell you, when I get off my plan it take FOREVER to get back on it again. I am also exercising and signed up to take Jazzercise which has been so much fun. So I hope i am finally on the right road to health and energy and cheaper clothes....
I just made some yummy turkey sausage and eggs and am having a wonderful cup of Earl Grey tea with Half and Half - GOD I LOVE doing Low Carb...
Let's just put out the low carb buffet and laugh and talk and enjoy the day!!!

Say, has anybody here heard of or tried T-Tapp? At my Fat Flush forum, some of the people are raving about it. Apparently, it's do-able by all ages and sizes and can help to really lose inches. Here's a link. Hope this works. www.t-tapp.com/home/
