Hi everybody,
Jennifer, what plan are you following? I really love your website. I do look at adds of places that I like just because I know it helps to pay the bills. I should just automatically do it everytime I stop by. I ran a search on the web for Gazelle and Gazelle by tony Little and what I found was, it's about $199 everywhere, but the s$h will vary. On the Walmart site, they have one that is not as heavy duty for $99. It is made the same, but holds up to 250 lbs. The one for $199 holds up to 350 lbs. The cheaper one doesn't take your pulse for you or have a card to call the tony little place for questions about the gazelle and whatever. I think that stuff is just crap anyway. On the tape, he says to get off the gazelle and take your pulse yourself anyway. So, if you could use the lighter one, that's the one I'd get. They both come with a work out tape. HSN just had 3 extra tapes with the one I bought, but their s&h wasa $7 more than Walmart. They are easy to put together. I did it myself in less than 1/2 hour.
I've found everyone is still chatting away on the ss site. But everytime I read something or post, I'm afraid it will disapear. It really is set up for her to promote and sell her products. What they don't realize is it's human to want to talk to each other and get to know what's going on in each others lives. If you try to subtract that, then it's just an advertisement.
It's still kind of drizzly here, but it's getting lighter. I sure hope it stops today.
I saw on 60 minutes II last night an interview with the Stones and thought of you Anne. Boy are they looking old, but they still sound the same and move good. DH says if they come close, we'll go to their concert. I don't think they will come very close to Iowa though.
Aleka, glad your water is back on. Sucks not having it, doesn't it?
Mauvaisroux, I'm counting on your imagination to come up with a name for us. Besides low carb eating, what do we all have in common? We're women, we're all on the other side of 40 (I think). Oh, I'm just no good at names.
Later, Nikki

Hi Everyone!
Jennifer I bought my gazelle from our shopping channel. I paid
229.00 Canadian and paid it off interest free over four months.

Nikkic: Boy I wish I would have seen the interview! Were they
talking to all of them or just Mick?

They were here in Toronto for a couple of months ahead of the
tour to rehearse. Our press was showing them on T.V.
quite a bit and they were so obliging with autographs and such.
Before they left they gave a concert at a dance hall on the
lakeshore and only charged $5.00 a head. I already had bought
my tickets though, besides, you should have seen the lines, I
would have never got in as it only seated 2,000 lucky people.

I am trying real hard today to drink my water. It's not as easy
when the weather is not as hot.

Hi Aleka and Mauvaisroux! The weather is cooler here again
but its suppose to heat up again Friday so I better make sure
I have a good supply of hair gel!!

Talk to you all later.
Anne.

Oooh great, I can probably squeak out 99 bucks! I can count my pulse, and I have no desire to call Tony and I weigh less than 250, so it works for me! I want to watch one more infomercial on it though so I can see it in action again. Thanks for the info!!

Smile It's Friday!!!

What a difference a day makes!! We had frost last night!!! It's kind of dreary again. We're supposed to get some remnants of Lili tonight into tomorrow.

DH has gone to Mass. to make a delivery, and I have the morning to myself. AHHHH. We have our own little machine shop in our garage, just me & DH. He does all the machining, I'm the secretary/bookkeeper. Thankfully we get along well.

mauvaisroux, OOPS, I misunderstood you before. But, since you came up with your original name, I'm sure a name for our group will come to you. You seem to be very talented in that dept.

ANNE D, I too have a hard time drinking water. Can you find any fruit flavored water, or even fruit flavored sparkling water made with sweetener? When I started WW, the leader said any sugarless beverage, except for anything with caffiene would do, but to drink at least 3 glasses of regular water. We buy Fruit/20, that is made with Splenda that I absolutely love and it goes down a lot better for me than water.

nikkic, I don't know if I'll ever post on the SS site again, but will go in to check out the recipes. I found a pancake recipe there that's easier than the one in the cooking contest cookbook and a omelette recipe. I've been to the site 2 more times and each time I had to agree to their rules to get to the boards. I don't know if it's just my computer, or if everyone has to agree to their rules everytime they go in. On our new computer, DH & I have our own personal internet settings, and when either one of us is through we have to log off so the other one can log on. Very weird at first, but I've got the hang of it. If I don't post over the weekend, I wish you good luck at the Dr. on Monday. Please let us know how you make out.

Take care and have a good day and a great weekend. Aleka

Good morning,
Aleka, did you buy a Gateway? That's the same way our computer starts. It does take awhile getting use to it. If you don't want to have to go through agreeing everytime on the ss site, I found out that if your on the page with the list of forums (or any page after that), mark that as your add to favorites or bookmark it. I don't blame you for not posting anymore, I'm not too happy with it either. Still, there is this little group that I post in and it was really great talking to all of them again. As for the rest of it, I've just been reading and will probably do the same as you.
Another drizzly, icky day out. I haven't exercised in almost 4 days. Something was always getting in the way. Today is the day to start again for me. Get on the Gazelle and go. I find watching Tony Little is motivating because I'm competative. I think if that arrogant, sexist, spoiled dork can do it, then so can I.

Anne, they interviewed all of the Stones and went on their jet. They even showed Micks daughter, she looked just like a regular teenager. They all seem like nice people, especially Mick. I just couldn't get over how old they looked. I've changed guys diapers in the nursing home that looked younger. It reminds me that I'm getting older too.

If you want to see old, look at this week's Rolling Stone. Keith Richards is on the cover, topless, and he looks 20 years older than he really is.

BTW, not that there is anything wrong about growing old, he just looks so much older than he should be. I guess it was all the drugs.

If Keith and Mick are old, what am I? Remind me never to appear topless anywhere. ROFLOLPIMP!

PIMPLOL!! Good one Ruth.
I'm sure they look a lot older because of the life style. I've seen a lot of guys that age that look a lot younger than they do. I wasnt' really surprised at Keith, but I was with Mick. I just sat there with my mouth hanging open. He isn't old enough to look that old. I think he's only 10 years older than me. Oh dear.
They said Mick has worked out for months getting ready for this tour. His body looks great, skinny and muscley too. When they asked Keith what he does to get ready, he took a drag off his cigarette and said,"Show up." I get a kick out of him.
Anne, isn't tonight the night? I don't think you'll post til Monday, but have a good time. Wish I was with you. The Stones are one of my favorite groups. Their music is great and I like them as people too.

Hi Everyone!

Nikkic, I go on the 18th of October which is a Friday night.
I am so excited. The stones really do look old. It must be something in the genes with Mick, I know when he was young he experimented with drugs but he has not been a substance
abuser for years and years. Of course Keith is quite a drinker
as is Ron Wood and those two guys still smoke and I know
Mick doesn't. It really killed me when I saw The Who. They
are the same age as the stones but have held up way way
better in the looks department.
I'm not knocking Mick though, he can out dance me any day of
the week What can I say I just love these guys.

Anne.

Evening everyone

Busy weekend, went to dinner with DH and about 10 of our friends for his birthday and had yummy Thai food Then went to a wedding reception on Saturday night and a bridal shower on Sunday afternoon. I need an extra day off to get some rest

Ummm...think I'll pass on that Rolling Stone Cover of Keith Richards Can anyone understand what that man is saying when he speaks? Imagine him and Ozzy Osbourne in a room together having a conversation...they would have to supply us with subtitles Hey, I'm 35 and I bet Mick could out dance me anyday!

I am going to try to exercise in the mornings this week since can't seem to do it at night. Wish me luck!

Goodnight!
Mauvais

P.S. Aleka what did you misunderstand? Something I said
Did I miss something?

Angry Good morning all,

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's fall like now, and I heard we are supposed to get a hard freeze tonight. Last week it was in the 80's and a bit humid, and now they are talking about a freeze!

mauvaisroux, when you mentioned something about thinking about a new name, I thought you were talking about your user name. I had forgotten we were trying to come up for a new name for our little group. How is the morning exercise going? I've been doing Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds w/weighted balls video. I'm doing the 2 mile walk with the balls, and to mix things up a bit I may try the 3 mile walk without the balls every other day. It sounds like you did have a busy weekend.

ANNE D, I agree with everyone that the Rolling Stones look so old is their lifestyle. Even at the age that they are, they still have a lot of energy. Sometimes Mick wears me out just watching him.

nikkic, have you gone back to exercising on the Gazelle? We bought a Dell computer. I've gotten used to everything except the keyboard. It's smaller than the old one and my fingers keep hitting the wrong keys

Have a great day everyone! Aleka

Hi everyone,
I've been painting on the garage almost everyday. Right now, I'm taking a break from it. It's taking 3 coats and almost looks like it could take another one, but I'm done after 3. I have one side done, the front lower half is done (dh is suppose to do the top) and the other side is almost done. The back is not started. I want dh to do the top, before I do the bottom. Then the foundation and hopefully, I'm done.
I'm still exercising. Except yesterday, I overdid it and then trying to paint was aweful. My muscles felt like they were quivering. I did some upper body/arm weight training in the morning. Note to self, never lift weights and then try to paint. I also do the gazelle and the abdoer. Trying to get this stomach to look less than 9 months pregnant.
Jennifer, I read somewhere that you had your apron removed. I saw this procedure on the health channel and I was wondering, do they have to cut all the way around your back too? That's what they did to the woman on that program. I'm hoping I won't have to have this done, I probably wouldn't be able to afford it anyway.
Aleka, when I bought this computer, I wish I had someone to talk to about Gateway products. I have had a lot of problems with it, and after talking to others, it seems a lot of people have. I also have problems with the "support" part. When I have problems and try to contact them, it's never helpful. Looks like a lot of people like Apples. Does anyone have one?
Break time is over, Nikki

Good Evening All:

I have a dandy week coming up with my mothers 70th
birthday on Friday followed by thanksgiving on Monday! Nothing
but temptation as far as the eye can see.

I am starting this week by giving myself a big pep talk, I really
don't want to go into "release"

I have been limping around these last two days, I think I have
a little tendonitis in my right foot. 245 is alot of weight for
this little footsie of mine to be lugging around!!

Happy Mondays done, I will talk to you all Tuesday!
Anne.

Just a quick note-I got a notice in the mail today from lab and my 2 hour glucose tolerance test was ok so I'm ok. I was thinking about that first blood sugar test. I remember the night before was when we ate at that Chinese restaurant and it was the first time I'd eaten any carbs-rice and noodles-for quite awhile. So probably my body was holding on to the sugar. It was over 15 hours between eating and the test, but it must have been that.
