Good morning! Where is everyone?? I just got back from dd's school. It's grandparent's breakfast this morning, can you say parking lot from H*LL? There's what, 600 kids here, and only 20 parking places! I almost hit 3 cars parked on the curb behind me as I backed out. Watch out for us women drivers!

It's going to be a fun day at work today, hopefully no boss. He's such a drag, and he's quit smoking, so it's even better. He's been leaving us alone this week, so I'll cross my fingers for a good day today. I get so much accomplished when he's not sticking his nose in it. HMPH, MEN!!!!

Ya'll have a great day, talk to you soon!

Thanks for starting us up, EarlyChicks.

I am supposed to be on my way to town but am running a wee bit late! I need candied ginger and raisins for the next batch of chutney and want to get going on it well before noon. Of course, I'll shop for other stuff too - chickens are on very special so I'll stock up.

Hershey looks so gorgeous now! Holly and I spent 5 hours clipping and bathing her and clipping out mats! I feel so badly that I let her coat get that way. Anyhow T*H*E Stuff from the New England Serum place really helped - this is not a commercial, I hop! I took her to the vet for weigh-in on the way home and she was 2 whole pounds lighter than last Friday's 58! Miss Lucy is next but I think I will need to tranquilize her a bit before I tackle her. She is such a ball of energy!

Gotta go or I'll never get my day's projects don! Catch you later.

Default Good Morning all!!

Wanted to thank you all again for voting for my sister's pic in her work photo contest, here is a link to the winners.

Karen Allen is my sister (bil and nephew fishing at dusk in Key West)

Dad came home yesterday, he's a happy camper!

Sherrie, just wait until Tommie gets into high school and you drop her off, you are truly taking your life into you own hands with the parents doing drop off and the teenage drivers in the parking lot, OUCH!!

Another hot one in the deep south today, band practice will be miserable.

Hello to all to come and have a great day!
Debbie

PS I didn't kill a single member of my family yestrday, I consider that a "job well done" on my part

Morning everyone....

Looks to be a gorgeous day here on LI, but just a quick hello.... haven't had coffee yet and am not quite coherent enough to start the day! Not too much planned for today, except to perhaps look for shelving for the new pantry - other than that, I'll probably be a slug and do NO cleaning (still have some construction going on!! whew! what a great excuse this is!)

L - pick up an iced mochacino for me, would you please?

Sherrie - I don't envy you having to deal with school parking lots in the morning before moms have had their coffee!! (sheesh! talk about road rage!! :lol ) I hope that your boss took the day off, too!

Ruth... please post of pic of the gorgeous Hershey - you know I'm a sucker for PWDs!! (still looking! )

Toryah ... I don't know about PCOS, but there are lots of smart ladies here who do.. I'm sure you'll get some suggestions -- how are you enjoying your new town?

Deb -- sooooo glad that your sister won and your dad came home! WAY TO GO on letting them all live, too! DEFINITELY a job well done!

Have a great day everyone!

Ever feel like a complete DUMMY? Ever since I've been hanging out here I've felt like such a lazy slug, I'd read everyones post, and you would all be up at at'em sooo much earlier than I was. Well today It hit me like a lead baloon! My computer shows the posting time in MY time zone, you post in your time zone, DUH!!! I got a little concerned when you guys were taking you kids to school at 6:00AM. Then the light blul came on.

Did anyone happen to catch the "DIET OF THE WEEK" in the Woman's World" magazine? It finally made me understand why I can't sleep good when I'm trying to stay on inductin or really lowcal. The diet's a scam, but the info I took to heart was that carbs make you sleepy and sluggish, and if you limit them, then the opposite occur. You have more energy and stay wider awake!! The premis of the "diet is to limit carbs after noon so you will be wide awake, then take a list of supplements to put you to sleep and your body will think you are awake, and your metabolism will stay high and you will burn fat while you sleep. The supplements are to put your brain to sleep, I guess Anyway I thought it was interesting.

Well, being back to work is really cutting down on my 3fc time! I haven't had a chance even to log on and read the post all week. Maybe when I get in the groove better, It's be easier. Of course by then, we will be moving into our new building, and have our new computer system, then everything will change, including my job responsibilities. We're talking now about how to restructure my "position". (How do you restructurer BIG BOSSES WIFE ? But see that is what I'm trying to get around. I want to be an active part, and actually contribute to the sucess of the business, not just be the bosses wife. And unfortunately that's how I feel right now. I was out for five full weeks, and when I came back the people who were doing my "job" really were doing and good job and made me feel very inadequate. Of course Alvin wasvery sweet when we talked about it. He said it was importiant enought for him, just knowing I was in the next office. The othe 10 employees don't feel that way, I bet, even Mark(my son). Anyway when the new computer system is up and running my "job" will virtually be eleminated. What I do it take all the orders that the sales reps take on the phone, and the ones that come in over the internet, and enter the customer info into the database, and put the sales info in and produce the invoice and shipping documents for the quys in the warehouse. With the new system, that will all be done automatically(the internet orders) and the sales reps will do it all while they have the customer on the phone. Well now that you know more about my job than you ever wanted to know, I'll quit whineing(sp) Anyway it's got me feeling very inadequate, since I always have a problem with low self esteem, it's weighing on my heart.

Oh talking about Alvin, he had a dc's appointment yesterday and they took the staples out and said he's doing great. He should be healed in another month. But (drum roll here...{what a day for the smiles not to be working}) He has now lost 146 pounds. He might get to be the doctors poster boy yet!

Angry Good Morning Everyone!!

It feels sooooo much cooler in Houston this morning! I actually have the office door propped open. Of course, let's see what this tropical storm is going to do!

Barb~<<hugs>> You must remember that you are more than the bosses wife! Please remind yourself that you have been an important part in the success of your business and redefining your position may open new and interesting doors for you!

Ruth~Have you decided on a gift for your grandson yet? Slow down a bit, will you?

samsgrandma~Quick howdy to you too! How's the construction going?

Today is not my day for computers. First I lost a long post because of too many smilies and now i've lost a long post (where i addressed everybody) because I tried to attach a picture and it was too big.
So, I just want to say hello and i hope you all have a great day.

Since Sue was talking about tattoos the other day, I thought that i would share a pic of me with my tattoo. Still can't figure out how to resize it without warping it, so heres the link.
Just click on the link, and then click on the top left pic called "Shelby and me on the back deck". Sorry, no navel piercings. If I was younger that might be a option.

Good afternoon my friends!

I haven't been the greatest poster recently and it looks like I won't get any better for a while. I'm really having a hard time concentrating and it's the Clomid doing it. yesterday I slept for 14 hours! I fell asleep at 5:30pm!! So I have a swooshy head, hot flashes, blurry vision and that's the good stuff! Sheesh--can't wait till this is all over.

Sorry if I don't get to you all individually, I read the posts, I just can't remember much right now so I'm sorry.

Went for a blood test this morning and to drop in with Miree. She burned off a great deal of energy and is napping. I think I may join her. Dh is doing great--I've only bit his headoff about 10 times yesterday. But he dealing with it and that's the main thing. He's taken up residence on the couch so not to bother me. A very wise man.

In about a week I should be back to normal somewhat--have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone!

Barbg---i don't know about all that supplement stuff to help you sleep. I 'm a sleep disorder technologist and have never heard of the article you got out of "woman's world". It is very interesting though. Heck, i think we don't sleep well cause we are STARVING!! Heeee--carbs do make you more sluggish, but i can't tell which way is up since i work 3rd shift and never know when i'm gonna get some good sleep.

Rule of thumb is no caffeine after say 3pm and no chocolate, nicotine, or too much sugar before bedtime.

YOu know now that i think of it---carbs do increase serotonin and give you that feel good thing-so it probably does impact sleep. Dont' listen to me, i'm rambling----gonna go hop on the bike--catch you girls later!!---debyj

Today is my 38th wedding anniversary. Well, mine and Peter's. I guess I have to mention him too. I don't think we'll be doing anything though. Both in bad moods.
Sheesh, what a day. It was the first meeting of the season for my women's club and I've been volunteered to do our monthly newsletter (mainly because I have a computer which most of the older gals don't have). But before I even got to the meeting I was inundated with phone calls here at home. DH knew I had a meeting to go to but he kept phoning and making me do this or that chore in the office. Then, when I got home, I had this woman he's working for on the phone and screaming at me that we'd ripped her off and she wasn't going to pay this bill. Yikes! Peter will hit the roof. We are in the red because of this project and if we don't get paid we'll be up the creek without a paddle. It's a huge, powerful corporation too, so obviously, we wouldn't have a chance against them if it came to court. Oh man, how else can my anniversary be ruined? I think I'll run away from home for a while.
Ageoldie I just WISH my job would become obsolete. I absolutely hate working for DH. I get blamed for everything. He expects me to remember every little detail of every project when, in reality, I forget them as soon as I bill them out. If I question anything, I get yelled at. It certainly isn't condusive to romance. He gets home from work about 8 or 9 so I'm doing dishes at 10 pm. Then he wants to do paperwork while his projects are all still fresh in his mind and he gives me the gears if I don't want to do it at that hour. No wonder we end up yelling at each other.
Oh well, enough whining. It doesn't change anything, does it? Otherwise, life is pretty good. In just one month, #2 daughter will be home for 8 days. Can't wait to see her, even though I know she'll want to spend a lot of time catching up with her old pals. Then her friend's wedding to go to at which she'll be a matron of honor. It should be a fun time.
Well, that's all for now. Time to make dinner for myself. Who knows when the old boy will be home.
