    Coffee is hot and ready. MMM it tastes especially good this morning it might be as i am especially tired?

    Got to hit the gym. it was closed yesterday and i drag all day. i never noticed that before. i am making sure i take my extra potassium and magnesium. as i have a huge half galllon jug that i drink 2-3 of daily so i am peeing lots. i seemed to see some weakenss so i doublked my dose as i was drinkig so much. i hope that helps. i hate to feel so dragy!!!

    I have to laugh. when i place nitrppatches on my patients last week i drew flowers or butterflies on them with my collored pens. and the little old ladies just beamed with the thought of them having a tatoo. and showed them off at any oportunity. well yesterday some one had borrowed my tatoo pink pen so i could not draw. and one of my aides came to me and asked why no more pretty nitro patches. i told her my pen was gone. she said you drew them on??? "Yea" OH I thought they came that way! I laughed to think that the drug companies would do that for the little old folks! they just are there to take their money!!! but i made sure that i have my pens today!!!

    one of my little old ladies they were teasing her and siad well a nose piercing is next. i laughed as i have some jewels for body tatoo i am going to bring them in and stick one on her nose!! that should make them all laugh!! that reminds me i need to get them. plus ido need to exercise the coffee iskicking in!!! thanks gusy i love you all and have a great day!!!

    Well today i have eggs boiling on the stove and coffee infront of me
    Another quiet day for me here, i need to meet some people that live here, im getting bored of sitting in all day by myself kinda depressing!!

    im going to go for a walk i think today, will do me good to go out, still waiting for the lady to ring about this job but i figure that if im out then she will leave a message

    Hope everyone has a good day!!! Be back later
  • Good Morning!!
    I'm needing extra coffee this AM to wake up. My butt is dragging.

    Sue, wish you worked at the rehab place my Dad is in. The place is rehab and nursing home, lots of old folks there who could use a little color (even if it washes off) in their day. Mom and Dad are going to question the doctor today about getting out of there, they really are doing nothing for him that he and Mom can't do at home. Cross your fingers, he could be home very soon.

    I have not had a chance to go back and read the weekend postings, will do that today. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

    I found the time to go shopping while in Florida, sis and I went. I purchased a pair of size 20 pants, for me this is the smallest size in years and years. Felt really good!!

    Came home yesterday to my oldest son having a cookout. The child had prepared shrimp wrapped in bacon, corn on the cob and steak for 7 friends. Hubby and I just looked at each other and went out to dinner, after all the "old folks" were not invited.

    Boy oh boy do I need to go to the grocery store. My daughter packs her lunch every day and she couldn't today, didn't have anything to pack. Nothing good on sale this week either, darn I just hate that.

    peachie and all that are sending the little ones to school today........ENJOY!!!!

    Must get going, start the day and all that good stuff.

    Have a great one all!!

    Debbie

    Oh yea, I'll let you know if my sister wins a day off in the photo contest, I think the winner's will be announced on the 5th.
  • Good morning Sue and Toryah and all those to come!

    Sue, sounds like there's an awful lot of smiles in there--in large part to do with you!

    Toryah, crossing my fingers you'll hear good news!

    Today is officially the firstday back to school for most children in Ontario so it means lots of delays this morning and lots of eager children. I have to be off in an hour myself to go line up and register Miree for swim classes. Then after it's the drop-in center, the first day reopened in it's usual location. Can't come too soon for me, Miree has been a handful this weekend. She definitely needs a brother or sister! But since that's not happening right now,I'll take the puppy!

    We actually got quite a bit done this weeknd but we still have more to go. The basement is actually neater and thoroughly swept and vacuumed. I have quite a lot of throw out stuff I have to get outof there and move to the garage. In the spring we're going to rent a trailer and load it up and take it to the dump. Next place for fall cleaning is underneath the porch, lots of junk there and we need that space for log storage. We should be getting our winter logs pretty soon. Sometimes I feel like a pioneer--it's the main way of heating our house!

    Have a great day everyone!

    **your snuck in there Deb, hope you have luck bustin' your dad out!
  • Happy Tuesday Everybody
    I have only 4 words to describe my Labor Day: MIGRAINE :hypno2: , DRUGS, & MORE DRUGS ! I spent the entire day in bed with the darn thing, thinking about all the things that I needed to get done. Thankfully it is gone today.
    I haven't had a chance to read all the posts from yesterday but I hope you all had a great weekend holiday.

    Today I need to run over to Home depot and get some mums and paintining supplies. Then I can begin to paint my office room. The colors are a light mocha and a dark chocolate, so I now refer to it as my "coffee room" (it is where I drink my coffee each morning while on the computer). I also need to mow the lawn and pull a few weeds. And today is the begining of my 3 week challenge (To bad we don't have an icon for "drinking your water" )

    Sue~I love the idea of your old lady tattoos. Great idea

    Toryah~~~Enjoy your walk in the fresh air. I hope you get the phone call that you're waiting for and good news.

    Jennifer~~~What is the best size to make a pic for attachment here?? Do I change the pixels?

    All to come~~~Good morning and have a wonderfully OP day.

    ~~~Sil
  • Debkay and Pooky~~~You both snuck in while I was posting.
    Deb~~~Congrats on the new size pants Way to go!!!!! Glad you had a good trip.
    Pooky~~~Did you pick out which puppy you want yet??? Girl or boy?
    ~~~Sil
  • Morning…..thanks for the coffee, I need it this am.
    One more day! I think I can make it. We have an incredibly busy week with orientation for little man tomorrow, and a ful day for older boy, a meeting for me during orientation. We also have to fit in Karate. My Dr Friend called me yesterday, the woman he has been engaged to for 4 years has told him she is no longer in love with him…WELL DUHH. I knew she never wanted to marry him. She is 39 with 2 teenagers, not working and taking him for his money. The sad thing is that he has been holding out hope. I, and all his other friends have told him don’t look back she isn’t worth wasting any more time on. I have stepped up to the plate and invited him to temple on Saturday. It is a Jr. Congregation for older boy, but it is all that I have time for. Then later in the day we will head over to cousins house to celebrate the Rosh Hashanah, the New Year with him….He knows a lot of the family as he use to be our Dr. So he is on the rebound but if you can think of anyone nice for my Dr. friend…please let me know. (thak is a joke about a blind date.....)

    I am hoping my friend will take my kids off my hands for a few hours today. I need a break. I need to sit at the coffee shop and sip away for a little bit.

    Ok kids want breakfast and I need to get my butt in gear.

    Deb, congrats on the pants…you must be on cloud 9…just think it is all smaller sizes from here!
  • The girls and I walked this morning and then waited at the corner for the school bus to come. Some of the kids were so excited and some, mainly boys, were really glum. I could not convince the driver to take Lucy with her although the kidlets were all for it.

    So now, the real year begins! I have a friend from WI coming for a visit in less than three weeks and have all sorts of Fly Lady things to do. Linda is a real doll and would never criticize but there are some places that definitely need cleaning - like under the sink!

    Aside from the pre-visit cleaning, I need to get started on the year-end financials for the Fair. The report is not needed until Nov. 3 but I will be having surgery Sept 26 and have a feeling my right hand won't be up to much for a while!

    Debkay, congrats on the size 20 pants. You will be in an 18 before you know it. Home rehab sounds good for your Dad but will be a lot of work for both him and your Mum.

    Toryah, yes! Get out of the house and go for a walk. Are you in a city or a village? You are right, any job callers can just leave a message.

    Sue, the tattoo idea is wonderful! I may steal that idea for my next visit to our local nursing home. It is so amazing how much little things cheer people. I visit one man who has a singing fish on his wall. Everytime I go, he has me start it up just so he can watch Hershey's reaction!

    Sil, you are a ball of energy! Sorry about the migraine but it seems you will get just as much done. Whaddaya mean "a few weeds"? My gardens are just loaded!

    Pooky, isn't it great when school starts and the world kind of shifts a bit. There was a steady stream of cars with boat trailers going OUT of the village yesterday. I imagine it's the same up your way. When do you get the puppy?

    Well, off to start the morning list - banking, laundry, dog haircut continued, etc. I am soooo boring!
  • Good morning everyone~
    I'm still interested in being part of the challenge but have been sick as a dog for the last couple days...thus nothing to record.

    Nasus40~ your tatoo story made me smile

    Off to the gym....have a great day everyone!
  • Well i went for my walk and i feel great i spent most of the time sat by the canal reading my book but it was so nice just to get out and relax

    I live just down the road from the main city centre but we have canals and its like a village...wired huh??!! I have only lived here for a week and a half and dont know anyone so its nice to get out

    The kids here went back to school this morning and my nephew is so extreamly excited!!...first day at primary school i called this morning and i have been thinking of him all day

    Oh well i need more coffee
  • Morning ladies! Started the "challenge" today, woke up at 4:30 and worked out and then also dragged out the Atkins book just to keep motivation in front of me. I have a wedding to go to Columbus Day Weekend, Oct. 13th, so hopefully I can shed some before that......
    everyone keep up the good work!!!!
  • Morning chickies......

    PJ -- my sympathies on the migraine..... mine is still pounding The problem with headaches for me is that when one comes, it usually lingers for up to a couple of weeks! Fortunately, the grandkids went back home last night. I love them dearly, but they exhausted me (esp with a headache) - unfortunately, the construction guys are back today, and BANGING BANGING BANGING. I made a date with a friend to get out of here in a little while, just to get away from it!

    It sounds like you all are being very productive... you're making me feel like a great big slug! My only good news is (well, actually there are 2 pieces of good news!) 1) I actually finally lost another pound.... total 22 !!! and 2) I have been able to do a little bit of crochet I'm making a "trial" crib blanket (fairly large) before I get to work on the seriously fancy, special stuff for both my sister's dd who is pregnant w/her first and my dd who is working on my #3 (notice I said [b]MY[/b) #3

    Well, I'd best get my @$$ in gear..... have a lovely day chickies.. I'll catch up w/you later.......
  • Good morning everyone! I just wanted to jump in here real quick while the kids are still snoozing! It nice to read about everyone's day, its a great way to get to know everyone!

    I have two little ones, 6 and 2. We are homeschooling through a charter school this year, and today is our "official" first day since we need to start recording our daily studies(we started some studies a couple of weeks ago though!). So I'm waiting for the kids to get up so we can get started on our day, do our school for the day and then run some errands after lunch.

    This morning was my weekly weigh-in, and I was completely suprised to see that I had lost another pound. I haven't been hungry at all, and thought that I overate some carbs in the past week or so, but I guess it didn't really matter That gave me a quick boost of motivation and hopefully I can continue through September sticking to the plan.

    Have a nice day everyone!
  • Okay---You guys obviously get up early!! I'm a 3rd shifter, so i got up around 11am cst and i will take a nap before going in tonite. I'm a sleep disorder technologist and i have an 1.5hr commute to work. So i basically leave my house at 4pm and get home around 7am the next day. I do this 3 times a week. Which is a good schedule to have, i'm off 4 days, but it still kicks my butt. Been doing that for 3 years now. I've been in the sleep field for 10 years now and i'm waiting for a dayshift position!! ------Soo, my point is i can't go walking on the days i work cause i get up around 2-3 pm and here in nashville it's still HOT !!!
    I did manage to get on the excersise bike last night and will get on it again before going to work. later taters!!!----debyj
  • Good morning, Chicks. It's only 10:24 here but I'm still the last one into the henhouse I think.
    We had steady rain yesterday and more on the way today. It was cool enough last night that I put on the gas fireplace in the family room and today I think I'll need a sweater if I sit here for long. Can't do that though as I have a bank run to make and other chores needing to be done. Can't work in the garden though. It's just too wet. There is a parade of giant slugs on my brick patio, flushed out by the rain, I suppose. All have been given the salt treatment and are dying a slow, agonizing death (I hope). Aren't I heartless?
    Just a few responses today.

    Nasus you are a real sweetie to brighten up the old folks' day that way. What a great idea. I don't think I mentioned that I was given temp tattoos myself on Sunday evening. We were at a housewarming party and two of the youngsters there brought out their marker pens and delighted in drawing colourful heart bracelets on my wrists and ankles and even a snazzy ring. The bracelets and ring came off when I washed but I went swimming yesterday morning with the ankle decoration still on. It got rave reviews from my pals in the pool. Too bad it came off in the water.
    Ruth you know I'll be thrilled to have you come for a visit in November. It will give me something to look forward to after #2 daughter leaves us after her short visit in October. I know I'll be feeling blue for a while. Bring your swimsuit and I'll take you to our lovely pool and you can meet some of my friends.

    Torya You're new to me so I'll just say welcome and I know how you feel about living in a new town. It's really difficult at first when you don't know anyone. It helps if you can join a club or a sporting group like bowling or women's softball or something, just to get acquainted with a few other women.
    Lesabear I don't think I've met you either, so I'll say welcome to you too and congratulations on your weight loss. It's always nice when you can lose a pound even when you think you might not deserve to. Also, good for you on attempting home schooling. I think a lot of people are going that route these days due to all the violence and bad influences at public schools.

    Samsgrandma and PJ so sorry about your migraines. I've had headaches but never had the debilitating problem of migraines. I've heard they can be terrible so I hope you don't get them too often.

    Well, that's about it for me. Just breezing in and out. I still have to do my 20 minutes on my stationary bike which I will probably break into two 10 minute sessions today.

    Greetings to any still to come.
