Coffee is on and eggs are ready - no bacon left this a.m. Sorry! I'll elave you chicks to munch and chat as I have to be at work for 7:30 this morning!

Yesterday's crisis - major storm right at 6 p.m. soaked the whole Fair - rides were shut down and the Monster Truck Show was iffy! It did go on at 8 when it cleared a bit but attendance was down. I medicated my worry with a hot dog and a beer - the first this Fair! Alas!

Started today with two soft boiled eggs and the rest of the bacon. DH is sulking a bit and "forgot" to get more yesterday. I am gonna have to earn mega-points with him and the Girls next week!

Two more days and then Monday of sorting out finances! Can you say deficit? Need to pay out $8000 tonight for entertainment and tomorrow night - Jeanne Shepard is dinging us for $15000. When I am reincarnated, I want to be an antique Nashville singer! Anyhow, the older folks love it. Remind me not to get old.

Today I am squeezing the whole laundry, grocery shopping, housework, cooking thing into one day! I am going to go to Massachusetts tomorrow for overnight camping(in a cabin) with DM, DS, and DN. My aunt and uncle own a campground in southern MA, west of Springfield and sis and mom take the little one up for a few days each summer. I NEVER go, but I decided to drive up separately and earlier than them to SURPRISE them! They are always bugging me to go, and this way I'll stay for just Sun nite, and leave after lunch Monday. I haven't really wanted to go, and they usually go during the week and I am working. So I'll be back Monday night, and just have to take one day off from work. I guess it'll be fun. My aunt will be totally surprised and will love it. So I am packing a little cooler for myself with a can of tuna, some diet jello, salami, some extra hot dogs, and a container of half and half for my coffee! Aughhhhh! Camping? What am I doing?

Well, I think I lost 3 lbs finally! I have been using fitday to log food, and it has really helped. I tend to eat more carbs than I think, and need fewer calories than I eat. I think I can manage on 1600, and 40-50 g. carb. I'm going to stay with that for another week and see how it goes.

NYC chick meet is looking good! Samsgrandma and I spoke on the phone Friday, and think we both know the same BBQ place, so that could work. You southern and Texan chicks are wearing off on us!

Not much else, I have a lot of threads to get caught up on- so I'd better get another cup of coffee!

Good morning all my chick friends!

Going to be a quiet day here, dh is going to his company pig roast and he's signed up to play in the horseshoe tourny at noon. The roast doesn't actually happen until later that night and I figured that 6 hours of Miree having very little to do won't go over so well.

Funny story--dh went to the grocery store last night with Miree to pick up some ingredients for rice salad he was making for the pig roast. As he's walking around the store, people are smiling at him and he's feeling proud since he figured that they see Miree and she's being so cute and good. Get to the cashier, and she gives him a smile too, so he's feeling proud as punch of his little girl. Get out into the parking lot and puts Miree in her car seat when she says "Daddy, fishy in your hair!" Dh brushes his hair and nothing is there. Again she repeats it and points. Realizing that she meant his forehead, he feels up and pulls off a shiny metallic sticker of a fish that was smack dab in the middle of his forehead! Miree had been playing with stickers just before they left and somehow she managed to stick one on his forehead. He told me this when he got home and I very nearly peed my pants laughing!

sherrie you can become a goddess here I have actually have my computer room almost clean for a whole day and the kitchen is actually workable. what a miricle now i need to get the rest of the house looking like that and keep it that way. (KEY is to threaten the lives of the kids constantly if they do not keep up with the stuff) It helps that Mike is now out of the house (the reason for your lost email jiff)

dottie you will have a great time!! just remeber to relax and enjoy your self!! that is the key to camping between hitting the bugs and burning the food, and getting the grounds from the coffee pot but make sure you have your hal and half this is the key to good camp coffee!! LOL we call it campachino

I've had my smoothie, drinking my coffee and getting ready to shower and bring my son's friend home. I guess we will spend the afternoon in my mom's garden!

Jennifer, I don't yet have a "favorite" ice cream recipe.. I think I used the one from the Atkins website; the 2nd batch I made, I used the Atkins mix...... however, I think there are some HERE, and I know there are lots on the Low Carb friends site..... I went back to the store and returned the Cuisinart ice cream maker and got the Krups instead......... the ice cream was freezing too fast (before it was ready) and getting stuck to the cannister - when I called Cuisinart to see if something was wrong, they told me to just stop it during the cycle and scrape down the sides!!! NOT gonna happen! After all, I bought an AUTOMATIC ice cream maker, not a "YOU HAVE TO SCRAPE IT DOWN" ice cream maker! I haven't used the Krups yet, maybe tomorrow -- I'll let you know how it works.

Sue -- I think you still need to vent (after all, inquiring minds REALLY want the scoop!! )......

i think we're about ready for the relatives to show up. we have food, but need some soda for the kids. and bread [of course we have butter!!!]. found some gorgeous joisy melons [sorry folks, they don't travel out of state well, although dottie and samnrosies' grandma COULD luck out].. joisy blueberries, joisy peaches [no, not HER], and other stuff.

the house is clean. but we don't know the condition of the bedrooms upstairs. and tomorrow is laundry day and a run to the grocery store to pick up things i need for the week

those people at work are nuts. they take no responsibility for their errors, and prefer to point fingers rather than figure out how to fix the problem. makes my skin itch!!! and we're so short handed because the owner LIKES it that way. no one else does, but he isn't directly affected by it. and on the rare occasions when he IS affected, he has a temper tantrum, turns red, and everyone runs to appease the daddy!!!

think i can last until the end of the year????

am going to a conference in nyc on monday on presenting information. should be interesting. but my boss is on vacation all next week, so it'll be a tough one for me [where it this/ why isn't that done? what should i do? tell me what's going on here? can i? should i?] i feel like a baby sitter some days!!!

thanks to peachie, mom's bills are straightened out. she kept throwing them away!!!!! and whenever i'd find one, i'd pay it, but i can't find them if they're in the garbage!!!

hmmm. still have to call the health food store to see if the protein cakes are in.

wish i were more interesting, but that's the best i can do. and sherrie, anytime you want to send the cleaning fairy along, i'll welcome her with open arms...

Crisis of the Day - We have 50 or so portapotties on grounds. A woman came to the Office to say she had dropped her keys in one - she could not tell us which one. While she was in the Office, the pumper truck pumped them all out. We will know tomorrow if they found her keys. (Sure hope they rinse them off before handing them back to the Office!)

Having a huge day after a poor one yesterday.

Sunday morning, off to an early start!

I am leaving to drive up to Massachusetts to go camping. so far it looks bad. Weather report is for clouds, humid, thunderstorms...yet hot. Just what I like, damp, hot and humid PLUS mud! Camping... who's idea was this?

well, I am going anyhow, the reason for this is to surprise my sweet neice and sis and mom and aunt! They will be amazed that I did this and I am looking forward to that. DN in particular will be happy to see me.

Maybe it isn't too far, it is pretty. i have driven there, just not stayed over at the camp. There are perfectly nice hotels and restaurants in Springfield.

NYC chicks: Dallas BBQ at 21 University Place(at 8th Ave) might be the best. It is a chain, and the one on 2nd Av seems to be closed on Sunday. University Place isn't far, just north of Washington Square Park.

There are other Dallas BBQ/s- if it is easier to meet uptown.
I'll be back from the wilderness on Tuesday, ttyl.
