SOMEONE USED ALL MY CREAM!!!

the kids must have used it for their cereal. UGH> no milk no cream i am in trouble. So I guess I am off to get some. I need some white stuff for the coffee. I hope this is not a clue of how the day is going to go.

I am not starting the breadmaking yet. I probably will not as i have had a friend give my name to a NH DON so matbe i will be working by next week or the week after. I am NOT going to wait for the hosp to decide to get me started. (sue get off that horse)

Other than that I have not much going on here. DH is home so that means much tiptoing around. I hate that. I feel guilty if I sit down at the puter, but he can sit on his but all day and not have a single guilty bone in his body. But I am not the one who leaves all the stuff in the house and demand that they clean up after them selves. I will not do it and if I do then they expect me to do it anyways. so I refuse. Ihave about 6 dishes in this room along with 3 newspapers left all over the place and they are NOT from me!!

Default Morning!

Ouch Sue, I need cream in my coffee too. No cream, no coffee for me.

Barb thinking about you today.

Ruth yes, Raoul is still in Atlanta, he will attend the Brave's game with me tomorrow night, he will be the sexy one slinging my purse over his shoulder, and fetching my water from the vendors.

sil, sorry to hear your friend had to leave the country. Perhaps you will have a chance to go to Germany to see her.

MamaJ, I know how hard it is to live far from your parents, we do all we can do, but sometimes the guilt of not being there gets to us. My Dad is in the hospital right now, thankgoodness my little sister is there to help out. I will most likely be taking a trip to Florida before long to lend my support. The doc is doing a bone marrow test today, we don't think the results will be anything good. For those that believe in prayer, please pray for my Dad.

Band camp continues for my daughter today. Today the Juniors are issued uniforms. As the Treasures wife, since he can't be there, I get the job of telling the students that have not paid up their band fees that they cannot take their uniform home until their account is current. Not a fun job! We did Seniors yesterday, and out of 20 some Seniors, we had to not allow 13 to take their uniforms home. Like I said not fun at all.

On a happier note, I will be going to lunch with a friend today. We are going to do Mexican, the same place we ate at our Atlanta get together last Friday night. Jiff I need you to share my meal with me, but since your not here, Joey will be glad to eat what I bring home. Joey (middle son) loves when Mom goes out to eat, he knows there will be lots of left overs.

Okay I have rambled on long enough. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Debbie

GOOD Morning chickies! What a gorgeous day here on LI!

Sue and Deb... I'm sorry about the cream, there's plenty here (from my ice cream making sessions) and I'm willing to share - even with those who insist on owning/wearing/whatever those icky icky icky CJ/AB shirts!!!!!!! (Deb - enjoy the game, even tho I am genetically incapable of rooting for those guys!! )

Ruth...... I wish I could have seen you flying over hill and dale in that pink nightie, chasing after Lucy.. it must have been quite a sight lmao!!!!

Sue...... good luck w/the new possibility (btw, what is a NH DON?- new hampshire director of nursing??? nah.... probably not, but it does fit!!)

Janice -- been there.... it was very hard on both me and my sister - me as caretaker, and her because she felt guilty for not being here (of course, she didn't feel guilty enough to make a real effort to get here too often, but that's a whole 'nother issue!!) . We had mom here at my house and my sis was only about an hour away...... I'm sending lots of hugs to you

Morning Everyone! Gray, hot, sticky day here. They are saying maybe thunderstorms, but we haven't had rain in quite awhile so we will see. DS is getting ready to go up to football workout and then I will do my 3 mile workout while he is gone. Maybe it will still be cool while I do it. I learned my lesson about bragging--I woke up at 2:00 this a.m. and that was it for me. Oh well, 2 nights of sleep in a week is more than I am used to. Tomorrow DS has an all day football tournament in a town about an hour away. It is supposed to be about 95 so I will pack lots of water for him AND me. I don't think DH will be able to go because of work again. He DID remind his boss yesterday at the meeting about needing some help, but wasn't promised anything soon. Sunday all 3 of us are going back up to the golf tournament for the final round. That should be fun. Did well with eatng and exercise yesterday and plan for the same today. Going to clean out my walk in closet in my bedroom IF I can get up the nerve.

Morning to Sue, Samsgram, Debkay and all to follow--have a super day!!!

Passing through on my way to the Oriface! Just had sausages and eggs for breakfast which should hold me. I am really really hoping for a break this afternoon so I can have a nap. Got home at 11 ish last night but was too wired to sleep. Probably disappointment over Raoul not doing the bank run with me.

Re the fire - it was not our Fair barn that burned - it was the one belonging to the owners of the Petting Zoo animals. They lost two ponies, I think, which was a terrible thing. We still had lots of furries for Animal Land.

Yesterday went well for the first day - we had our first ever Fair Ambassador program - used to be Queen of the Fair but now guys can enter. The girls looked absolutely fabulous! Last night entertainment was a tribute show - impersonators of Brittanny, the Backstreet Boys and Jennifer Lopez. They were very good from what I could hear from the office. Jo-Lo was in the office for dinner with the group and sure could have fooled me! And that was before she was in make-up and costume!

A bit rainy this morning but clearing up. Should be a big day - Monster Trucks tonight and all the yahoos will be out. I sure wouldn't want to be working the beer tent tonight.

Would love to comment on all the posts but gotta be there for 8 and am still in just my metal bra!

Default well, good mornin everyone!!!

so, tell me sue. what's going on??? you're the last one to post at night, and now you're the first one up???? and no cream??? you poor dear, insomniac.

and sam n rosies grandma.. how about nursing home director of nursing? new hampshire sounded good too, but too far for sue to travel. although, from the way she's describing all the stuff the other residents of her house leave around, maybe a long commute wouldn't be so bad?

and ruth. you must be quite a sight... chasing the dog in fuzzy pink one day, and the metal bra another. maybe the bra scared lucy? but i doubt it. i can just see her romping JUST out of reach, teasing you the whole way!!

deb... would LOVE to have mexican with you again. but joey would STILL get his leftovers, since there's no way you and i actually made headway!! we DID try, though. love to the kids and good luck at band cramp. er band camp.

mamaj. someone needs to talk to the doc about the sundowning. and they need to use the words 'around sundown,' or 'at sundown' the sad fact is that words like 'dusk' or 'as it gets dark' just don't sink in. aricept works, but it might take a couple of weeks. it helps with the sundowning, and the agitation and the aggression, but it won't help with memory.

good luck...

i just LOVE hearing about all the stuff you and your family are doing, annie. i'll be golfing again next year, even though it's a stupid game. it's fun!!!

hey ruthie.. any eligible men up there these days??? anyone who might want to treat me like a princess??? hope you're keeping your eyes open!!

the hospital visit to the minister went well. poor man is bored to tears and so tangled up in red tape that he might not ever get free!!!

but as i was leaving i ran into [literally!!!] the respiratory therapist who was on ER duty last summer when i was admitted for my unfortunate incarceration. and he remembered me!!! and we hugged, and he congratulated me, and then said that people had been asking about me. and dragged me down to the ward where i spent the first two weeks. and they remembered me too! several of them actually cried. so, i'm sure it's now spread around the entire hospital that i'm doing great.

those folks saved my life. and i'll be forever grateful to them

so, off to make a shake and then to work. mom and the dog are still sleeping. hope they get up soon!!

happy friday everyone. and don't wear yourselves out!!

Jiff that is wonderful to see those people again. I can think of several people that I would love to see again. and New Hampsire does sound like a charm. I think I would like the commute. let see come home only once every two weeks?? OH YEA!!! but then I would need a dumpster to clean!!

Samsgrandma I have milk and cream now thankyou. I had to run to the store so I could get my caffiene!

ruth I hope you showed up in your metal bra!! that should get those monster truck folks in line for the night. who knows you may end up being the main attraction!!! If nothing else then the people would know that you mean business about not doing this next year!!

Sil I have been thinking and thinking is there any way that one of them can get a job in another way to stay in the country?? what if they were to start their own business? or if she was to get a job at a local store just to get the visa's going then he can apply for an extension of his?? just thoughts. I can understand how hard it is for them to not want to go back to their native country.

Hi everybody
Finally got some time to get online. I've been cleaning out closets, drawers and shelves today. I've decided to redecorate the room that I use for my office. It has my desk, computer, drafting board, shelves and daybed. So, before I can paint and decorate, it NEEDED to be cleaned up (and lots of things tossed out).
As far as my friend leaving America: I am not as tearful today.

Sue~~My friends husband had lots of job offers here in the states. The problem was that his work visa was specific for that particular company (German). They have applied for a green-card (work visa lottery) to enable them to stay and work in the States, but that isn't drawn until October and will not be effective until 2004 , if he gets it. So they had to leave the States . But I know that my friend has alot of faith and it will get her through the hard times.

OK, I've decided to try a 2 week induction low carb diet. I will need lots of help because I love fruit and veggies. I've been putting it off because of the medication that I'm taking (it's hard on the kidneys and liver). Also, I really don't like alot of fatty foods. But I'm willing to see how it goes. If I remember right, that means that I need to keep the carbs less than 20gms. Is that right? I'll try to find some old threads on it, but any help will be appreciated.
I'll check in later. See ya~~~Sil

I think I must have missed yesterday's posts. It was a lovely morning with a few clouds and a nice breeze..very refreshing after a week of mid 80s weather so I went outside very early to finish weeding my front border. I worked until nearly 1 out there but so glad I have finally finished the front (for now). Today I am feeling the effect of too much sun though. Very woozy and spinny headed. Dragged myself to my WW weigh-in. (I think I told you I had prepaid and have a few weeks to go and as I don't have my own scale I may as well use theirs.) I didn't stay for the meeting because I have to bite my tongue when I listen to the lectures. Anyhow I gained back another pound! What is this?? I was in ketosis just about every day. Shouldn't the pounds be coming off instead of ON? I mean the first week on Atkins Induction I lost 5 lb and that wasn't even a full week. THen last week a 1 lb gain and this week another pound. It's very frustrating.
But, I checked back in my journal to see what I did differently the first week compared to the past two and I can see where I have added a few foods that may be troublesome to me. The first is peanut butter. (a real baddie cos I can't leave it alone ) The second is macadamia nuts (same problem. ) the third is avacado. I ate three this week because somebody in the Atkins Friends forum said they are virtually carbless once you deduct the fiber in them but I think she's on Protein Power and not worried about staying in ketosis. So, back to basics today to see if we can get some deep purple going again. I know this can work but it's up to me not to slip up on the little things like I have this past couple of weeks. I guess some low carbers can fudge (good word choice ) a bit on their menus but obviously I can't.
I'm expecting company soon, so I'd better get busy and do some tidying up around here.
Have a nice weekend.

I'm here, barely, but here! I have been demolishing the black mould laden drywall in my basement virtaully all day and I was just able to sit down now for some quality computer time. It's mostly done, but we definitely have some plumbing problems down there and dh is not happy about it. I think the connection to the water heater has corroded and the pipe from the washer to the drain is not connected well. There may be more, we're not sure. We do have a friend who is a plumber and may be able to swing us a deal, crossing fingers!

I think tonight is going to be an early night for both dh and I--we're as exhausted as they come right now. Hope you all had a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Linda I have problems with PB too ans nuts. HHMM nuts?/ salt??? I do not know about the avacado but i think they are high in fat so i try to stay away from them as well as the nuts/PB they throw my body in a stall faster than i can spit as i do not know how to stop them and eat far to much then my fat intake goes sky high and i end up eating about 3000 cals with out realizing it.

Thumbs down

Susan! just how fast can you spit? I can go from my computer chair to the wall in about 2 seconds....don't let the little guy catch me or there will be a WHOLE lot of spitting going on!

Isn't it sad that I digress before I even start?

Hey sil! 20grms for induction is correct!!!

I am so freakin tired! (yes, Janice that is an F word!) Spent the day doing mom's bills. Two hours on the phone to one credit card company. So? what do I know? I tried to do things honestly and above board when they were ripping my mom off...but then I got smart...said I was her (she?) and said the magic words, "I would like to cancel this charge card" And they waved a magic wand and all the bogus charges went puff. Of course it was a bit hard pulling off the 80 year old routine while the big kid is following me around the house yelling, "Mom! I'm hungry!!!" I finally wound up up stairs, in the bathroom with the door closed and in the shower with the curtain closed....girls gotta do.......Debkay...I think I need you to give me some consumer lessons...I stink, even though I was in the shower!!!!

later,
peach
