Default mornin' peach, coffee is needed!

My hubby took the bills to work with him to do the same peachie. Before I had my hospital stay I always did the bills, but since I came home he doesn't want to give them up. Hey go for it bud!!!

I'm going to breakfast with a friend this morning. Eating out is rough, I never know what to order. I usually bring enough home for two more meals, but the moment my kids see leftover restraunt food in the frig it is a free for all. My middle son is the worst, he does his own version of low-carb, he has lost quite a bit, but I wouldn't advise people to follow his plan. He will eat mixed up peanut butter and jelly (in a bowl) as a snack, his theory is he isn't eating the bread so it must be low-carb.

When I get home I'm going to try to organize my dining room. I have a bunch of my Grandma's stuff in there that she gave me last summer. I need to go through it and put what I'm not going to use in the basement. We'll see, I bet it won't happen, LOL

Gotta run, talk at you folks later

Morning Peach, Deb, and all to come.

Well talk about perfect weather We are having mild days in the high 70s and nights in the 50s, PERFECT. I am glad Friday is here and the weekend is ahead.

Peachie, so sorry about your MIL, sounds like she was a special gal.

Deb, I know it is very difficult for me to dine out also. I am eating so little I hate to bring so much home all the time. I kinda feel wasteful.

Happy Friday to all!

Default good morning everyone!!!

another gorgeous day here... upper 70s later, low 50s now. i even wore a light jacket for my morning walk.

found a new bra for mom and sneaked it into her room. not sure she'll like it, but it's better than nothing, and since the tags are off, she won't know it's new, and will figure that she'd simply forgotten she bought it!!!

is this a mean thing to do??? i HATE pulling the wool over people's eyes, but sometimes, it's necessary...

TGIF!!!!

and the contractor is supposed to come and finish the deck and rebuild the front stoop [porch] today. and replace a couple of windows. i have to work, though.

have a great day!!!

Morning all you early chickies!

Sheesh...... I never got here yesterday for long enough to answer ANY posts Now, trying to catch up makes me feel like a total slug! It was a reeeeeely long day at work yesterday.

Anyhow, I'm gonna try to do better --- gee, is anyone else noticing a pattern here?? oh well, at least I do try!

Your plans for the "meet" all sound so great AND so much fun -- what's happening w/NYC on the 4th of Aug? (can you tell I'm getting just a tad jealous?)

Jif - about that sleep apnea machine - My answer as to whether you should bring it or not depends: is Peachie your older sis or younger?

Peach - my sincere condolences about your MIL.

Well, I GOTTA go get some coffee....... will try to come back later (darn! there's that !@#$ word again!) and keep up with you all - but first...... manicure&pedicure at 9:30 - hoooo ray!

Default Don't Faint !!!

And pass that coffee QUICK!!! It's 6:45 Dallas time and I'm on the computer. How is that possible you ask? Well it's a long story, but to make it as short as possible,
1. DH sleeps in a chair in the den, has for years because of his weight and a herniated disk in his neck that makes laying in the bed painful.
2. Computers were all in the den, so I tried to stay out of that part of the house until DH woke up. Usually about 9:00 AM
3. Finally got DS over and moved the main computer (we are on a home network system, and I usually post from my laptop) into the spare bedroom that I use for my AVON office, and exercise room, and now it's really back to the Computer Room.

So now I can play or whatever until DH gets up instead of trying to keep in the front of the house and be quiet. That's why I sleep so long, it's hard to lay in bed and be quiet without falling asleep.

But now I don't have an excuse to skip going to the club for a workout...oh well life's full of compromises.

Debkay: your son's plan sounds quite a bit like mine. I read all the books, Atkins, PP, CAD and then some more, and have finally come up with my own "plan" It's unique to say the least, but it's working.

Debkay & Peachie: You girls are lucky, I still have to pay all the household bills. DH says he does the business bills, so I can keep the household bills. At least for the first time in our 39 years of marriage there is enough money to go around, and I'm not having to play the juggler act.
Maybe there is something to say for getting "older" and having an EMPTY NEST!!!

Of course I have to be honest and say that all the credit goes to DH for having the courage to start a business at the age of 50. It's growth has been unbelievable, and to think it started out as an afterthought because his health forced him to quit his "real" job. We tried to run our antique store full time, but that did not pay the bills, and he was not able to "comb the woods for treasures" like he had in the past. A friend of his who was in the fiberglass business talked him into placing a very small ad in a Mustang magazine magazine for the wings(spoilers) that he made, and as they say the rest is history. I really believe that GOD definately has blessed us. We could have never done this on our own.

WOW Have I been rambling. Maybe from now own you'll tell me to go back to bed!!!

Thumbs down I've heard of talking in your sleep--how about typing in your sleep?

Morning Everyone!! We are all moving pretty slowly this morning. It was a late night with basketball games last night and then it was a nice cool evening with the windows wide open. GREAT for sleeping. I just dropped DS off at football and I think his eyes were still shut. I'm sure his coach will have a way of waking him up! He did really well playing with the varsity last night and his team was one for two, not bad at all. Finally got all of the laundry dried after my trip to the laundramat. I will be SO glad to get my new washing machine tonight. Nothing much planned for today other than daily stuff. Tomorrow DS has an all day 7on7 football tournament. It is here in town so I will get to "serve my time" working in the concession stand. I can handle that over driving though.

Peach, I am sorry to hear about your MIL. Hope your little guy enjoys his days at camp!

Linda, your menus sound absolutely wonderful---let us know what the weightloss is!

Deb, I wish my DH would take over paying the bills--I truly hate sitting down and doing those things! Hope you enjoy your breakfast out today.

Have a great day ladies!!!

Good Morning my friends!

Just a super quick one today-my mother announced she was coming to visit us this weekend and my house looks like a bomb hit it.

Got a call from my lifelong friend (we call ourselves sisters) that lives in Florida that she's coming back to Canada! I'm in shock, she's been gone so long and everything really has changed here from when she left.

Have a great day everyone!

Default Morning, ladies/lurkers!

Peach - so sorry about your MIL.

Here is an update on my mommie:

I'm sorry - its been so crazy lately that I can't remember who I told what! You know that my mom has been in pretty bad shape, right? She has scar tissue from ulcers nearly completely covering the opening from her tummy to her intestines AND a large, nasty bleeding ulcer so she has been losing weight and blood for quite some time. Well last week they took more bloodwork (along with an EKG, CAT of her belly area, chest X-ray, etc.) and her white blood cell count was extremely low. Supposed to be a 12, they worry about cancer patients when they hit 9, mom was a 7! So over Tuesday/Wednesday she had 3 blood transfusions and they hooked her up to another one immediately upon arrival yesterday when she checked in for her surgery. Her doc (a wonderful FEMALE surgeon who is sooo nice/bubbly, not a hard ballbreaker
like some female docs) said she was 'this close' to popping her in
the hospital early but bed space was a problem. Anyway, mom was feeling somewhat better (and she pinked up nice!) from the new blood.

The surgery went extremely well and mom was doing so good that they didn't even feel she needed to go into ICU for a day or two like they had orginally planned. The doc said that her stomach had been distended for quite sometime & was streached out so she had a lot to work with and was able to leave my mom with a bigger stomach. She still took out 1/2 of it along with the opening area and a length of intestine, then they made a new opening on the other side of her stomach. They sent everything off to lab to check for cancer but she said there didn't appear to be any tumors or cancerous tissue.

Mom was in a lot of pain when they got her to her room but she was much more comfortable by the time I left around 7 last evening. She didn't have a migraine, which is a VERY good thing since that was what was the nightmare when she came out of her back surgery 1 1/2 years ago. I sure hope one hasn't developed overnight. I have some work to do at my desk and then I will pop over to stay with her. My sis Tracey is in town for a couple days and my brother is around too so it doesn't fall all on me but it sure is hard to concentrate on anything else when I just want to be there by her side.

So thanks, everyone, for your prayers and good vibes cuz they sure seemed to work! Earlier in the week when they were so worried about mom and her blood count, I was really getting scared and dealing with the very real possiblity that my mommie could die in surgery. I feel soooooo releived now!
