Default Daily--Tuesday July 9th (My DS's 16th Birthday)

Morning Everyone!! The resident insomniac thought that she would start us up. Boy, I haven't had a chance to do that in a long time. Going to get a glass of tea---be right back!!!

Morning Everyone!
Hope ya'll don't mind the plug for my son's birthday--I know that he's excited about it.(At least he will be when he wakes up ) Thanks Janice and Samsgrandma for commiserating with my whining yesterday. I'm probably not doing any better with the milestone today, but I am going to put on a better face for it anyway! It is about 5:30 and I have been awake for what seems like forever. It is already (or still) 75 degrees outside and they say it will stay hot today, but supposedly cool down tomorrow. I'll believe that when I feel it! Today's agenda involves taking DS to lunch and then we are going to go to the driving range and hit golf balls and then on to see Men In Black 2. Obviously I am not planning on doing any chores--wonder how DH will like those apples. Having the big "seafood" birthday supper tonight and opening gifts. My parents were so disappointed that they weren't able to come down for DS's birthday this year. My dad is still having some medical problems. So it will just be the 3 of us and that will be nice too.

Great job Jif on those new 5 pounds gone and Barb that is super that you have lost all of those inches!!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Default Happy Birthday to AdoAnnie's little boy!!!!

To AdoAnnie's son, if your reading this, it doesn't matter how big you get you will always be Mom's little boy. Have a fun day today with Mom.

Back from visiting relatives. We started in Florida, visited my parents, brother and sister and their families. We than drove to Virginia where we visited the rest of my family and hubbies family and attended a wedding. There were many emotional reunions for me, as most of the family has not seen me since I was "let out" of the hospital. It was a good visit, but I was so glad to sleep in my own bed last night.

You will never believe what happened to me while we were gone!! I lost 9 pounds!!! Stepped on the scale last night and was very pleased. I really need to buy new clothes, but it's so hard knowing you will only get to wear them for such a short while.

Everyone have a wonderful day
Debbie

Default BUY THOSE CLOTHES, DEB!!!!

we don't want you buck nekked just yet!!! and here's an entertaining thought.. a month ago, i bought some lovely pants. i should have bought a size smaller, but i didn't. and now, i can get them off without unbuttoning them!!!! oh well. i'm just grateful i didn't buy too many..

and a note to annie's son: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! and don't run off with the car keys JUST yet.. and remember that your parents love you with their whole hearts.

and where's ruth???

what else is there? tonight is the nonsupport meeting and orientation for people who are considering the surgery.. and i have my five minutes of fame. sure hope i can talk fast enough!

and that means that it'll be a late night with a lot of wandering around the hospital and parking lot, so i limited my walk to only a half mile this morning. i am still battling extreme fatigue when i overexert. at least, overexertion now counts as a full mile walk, plus a 9-10 hour workday, plus a long flight of stairs to the parking lot. it's no longer a couple of trips up and down the driveway.

oh, stop sniffling, you sentimental mushy dear ladies!!!!

have a great day ya'll...

Good morning, Annie and Deb! And good morning to the rest of the Chicks as they come in.

(so... in the time it took to post in snuck Leens, Jigg and MamaJ - good morning you chickies)

Happy 16th birthday to Annie's 16 year old son! Another milestone.

AND good going Jiff and Debkay! You two have been through a **** of a lot and deserve to see the pounds melt away.

I have not melted away any pounds since yesterday although it is hot as heck in this house. My dear SH decided to trim around the air conditioner yesterday and cut the frigging cable! I was NOT pleased at all! We finally got a man here to fix it at 8 last night and cranked it up but the house is still not cool. Grrrrr! He is very contrite and is now talking about central air - that is the machine in the house- as our system is from 1976! Actually I have found that the heat does not bother me as much this summer - I guess dropping even a few pounds helped.

At 8 we leave to pick up a rental car and drop my Focus off at the Dealer again. The insurance estimator wants to see it, of course. I've told the Dealer to take his time with the fix as I am going away on Friday morning and won't be back until late Monday. The rental can sit at the airport for the weekend.
I'll be at the Office the rest of the morning (it's got AC!) and then go for allergy shot #3 in the p.m. There goes the day again! We plan to go to the cottage on the Lower Lake for BBQ tonight if the weather is OK.

Had better get cracking and put on some decent duds to impress the rental car guy! By decent I mean without grass and earth stains on the knees and maybe a bit coordinated.

Will check in later. Happy Glistening Day!

Good morning you early birds! I was awake at around 4:30 this moring courtesy of Miree but back to bed she went and the same with me! Finally woke at 6:30 since she was bugging me too much.

Linda, it is so very nice to see you back!

Ruthie, where are you going? If you told us I must have missed it.

Annie, give your son a big hug and kiss--my mom STILL has a problem with my age and I'm 33 years old!

Oh Janice, I sometimes wish I had a sister to talk to about things. What a wonderful moment for the both of you!

I am echoing everyone else when I say WAY TO GO JIFF AND DEB!!!!

leens, hope you have a good one!

Off to drop in this morning so miss monkey face can run off some of that energy she alwasy has on tap. Tonight I have a board meeting--it promises to NOT be very much fun. When are financials EVER fun?

I'm going to try and upload the picture that was in our local paper of the coordinator of our drop in accepting a cheque from the grocery store as a donation. Guess which one is Miree??

Good Tuesday Morning to all.

Boy do I love 5 day weekends! I had loads of fun and got lots done. Darren's room is almost done, painted it a royal blue and red. Much darker colors than I am used to, but it looks great. I need to buy a boarder paper, make the curtains and I will be done.

Pooky, congrats on the 17 lbs loss. And that Miree has to be the one filled with excitement, arms in the air!

Jenni and Chickadee, Hope your homes are soon to be smelling more like a summer garden than fresh skunk. Poor dears.

Ruth, glad to hear that Lucy is taking to the water. I need a pup!

MamaJ sounds like you and dd had a wonderful talk form the heart, good for you!

Leens, we had a wonderful storm last night, it was greatly needed.

Jiff and Deb, congrats on all your success, you deserve it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANNIE'S DS! I have grown to care so much for him, I hope he is having a great summer and he is enjoying all his sports! He is so lucky to have such a wonderful mom.

Wishing everyone a great op day!

Good morning Ladies!

Jif & Deb: CONGRATULATIONS! You two are so motivating and so on the ball! Good job -- you both deserve it!

Ruth: I can completely sympathize over the loss of ac. Not a pretty picture. Will we see you glistening soon?

Happy Birthday to Annie's son!

What a nasty mess still around here. I am on load number 41 of the laundry and the house is slowly and surely starting to smell better. I will get an occassional whif, but other than that I found some great stuff that has helped take the smell out of the carpet and the sofa.

The biggest problem is that I am really agitated with the housing manager. He came on over (remember, this is military housing) and assessed the 'situation' and informed me that dh and I would be financially responsible for the preplacement of the dry wall paper and the fresh paint! I don't get it -- but I'm so freaking tired I will just deal with it when it happens rather than try to argue now.

Evidently, I've got to go now -- dd has let the dog out the front door and she's harassing the neighbors.

Default My day so far...

Has been really good. We had an unusually hard water aerobics class today (we wore the dreaded boots!), but a hard workout makes me feel soooo good.

Next I had my Pre Surgery Clearance/annual physical doctors appointment. Everything checked out good, but the best thing is that I am exactly 30 pounds lighter on her scales than when I had my other pre-op in the latter part of January. I feel like celebrating.

Well chicks~ I would love to be responsive and positive to all ~~~ BUT ~~ I got robbed tonight! Yes, I am okay as everyone seems to want to tell me is the important part! But the little *******s that I felt sorry for and was getting ready to feed for free snatched me for about $1200, all my business keys, house keys, car keys, birth certificate, ALL MY IDENTIFICATION including my social security card that it's taken me two years to get, on and on! AND THEY'VE BEEN CALLING MY YOUNGEST SON MICHAEL FROM MY CELL PHONE TO HIM! Called the police back again! They just left and said ~~ Well, there's really nothing that you can do!

I am soooooo disgusted! I am supposed to leave in one week for our get together! HOW????????????? I have no identification!

Sorry chicks, I've been crying and fretting for the last three hours.

Oh J... that totally sucks! I know it's a cliche, but it's still true --- thank G-d that you are ok!!! It really could have been so much worse! All of your "things" are replaceable - YOU are not!
I don't understand why the police said there's nothing you can do. Do these creeps know your son? Can you call the phone company tell them what happened, and cancel that phone? They shouldn't give you a hard time about that.
Now, about the ID ... you have a police report, can you go to your local DMV office and get a replacement driver license? (Notice, I'm NOT pulling a "mother" and asking why you had all of that ID (including the b/c) WITH you?!?!? )

Everyone else, sorry I can't answer ALL of the posts from yesterday... the board was just toooooo active! I'll just have to say happy birthday (belatedly) to Annie's ds and hi to everyone else. My day yesterday, while not as bad as J's, was pretty traumatic, too...... I'll post it elsewhere, maybe someone has some additional thoughts for me!
