Talking Daily Wednesday July 3

Hey did anyone notice that there's a new warning message before we post--it says that advertising of any kind is not allowed and is subject to deletion. So Ruth??, it means you have to keep your clothes on hun, and that of your kilted friend!

It's SUPPOSED to be cooler today--hmmm, we'll see. Still no sign of rain. Still stranded in the basement. Although cough is getting better slowly. Can't believe it's Wednesday already--gosh don't you love long weekends??

Not much going on, can't do much because of the weather. Hit an all time high upstairs yesterday--89 degrees. Now that's hot!!

Hope you all have a great day!

DOH! I wanted to post a pic of Miss Miree in her new short hair!

Scooby and everyone else to come... hope you all have a great day and try to stay cool and safe in this awful humidity!

Hi there, earlyChicks! Another sunny and glistening day is here. Remind me of this when I start *****ing about the cold next November.

Pooky - Miree's haircut is just adorable. She is such a sweetie - and I think my grand daughter Tayler is the cutest kid in the world!

Scooby2 - I really admire your determination in going to the gym so early and regularly! It must be paying off.

Samsgrandma - keep cool. My Porties are lying in their wading pool a lot these days.

Slept until 6 this morning - must be the Tylenol PM that I smuggled back from the NJ. Amazing because I was in bed before 9 last night - heat seems to wipe me out. Today is a bit cooler - this morning, at least.

The work for the Delta Fair is cranking up. It doesn't start until the 25th but I have bills to pay, fliers to distribute, control sheets to get ready, etc. so may not be in here as much this month. However, I will be watching for the naughty bits! so be sure to put some in. This morning I need to make some corrections to the Fair Website (made by local HS students who are on vacation now. I'll post the URL when I know it is correct.

My garden is sooooo sad. Usually I have beans by now but the plants are just starting to leaf out. Not bad for us but I pity the poor farmers and market gardeners. We had more rain in June than we get in the three summer months so stuff drowned - the corn leaves are yellow. Now we have gone a whole week with no rain but very high temps - over 90 most days - so crops are in bad shape. There may be lots of whining in the beer tent during Fair time.

LindaT sent me a recipe that might be worth a try for lunch or dinner in this heat. I made it last week witrh a few changes and served it on lettuce for dinner. I have not done the nutritional analysis - the recipe is for 5 but we ate the whole thing. I think it serves 2 for a main meal. I'll post in the recipe section once I do the nutritional analysis.

BBQ Chicken Salad

2 skinless boneless chicken breast halves - Pre Cooked frozen
2 stalks celery - chopped
1/2 large red bell pepper - diced
1/2 red onion diced - I used a few green onions
1 (8.75 oz.) can of sweet corn drained - did'nt use - OK for CALP
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
2 T fat-free mayonnaise

Mix BBQ sauce and mayo and pour over other ingredients. Mix and chill until serving time. Serve over mixed greens if you wish.

Mmmmm - getting hungry and it's only an hour past breakfast.

Am off to walk to the Office and glug water. Catch you later.

Morning Ladies,

It's not hump day, it is Friday here! Looking forward to a long holiday weekend coming up, plus with my Monday off, I will be out of work for 5 days, yahoo! Nothing big planned, just cleaning and painting Darren's room and couple ball games. My brother is visiting from North Carolina.

Pooky, thanks for the site, it was fun browsing through the rooms, but Darren did not like the room you pointed out, he is very opinionated. I thought it was great, I am trying to find another room to do in that pattern. LOVE Miree's new doo, it is perfect for her precious little face.

Goodforme, I love storm too, I think it is because my dad used to sit with us and watch the storms come in. It is one of my fondest memories of my dad.

Scooby, have fun with your bil and family. Thanks, you are an inspiration to me, I have begun this week with early morning trips to my Y, they open at 5:30 and that is perfect for me. Too bad we are not going to the same Y!

Hi to Samsgrandma and all to come, for those celebrating the 4th, have a wonderful and safe holiday!

Mornin' All! Wow! I miss one day and I feel like I miss a lifetime!

OK -- you wore me down: IT HOT!!! And humid! I don't mind heat so much, but you put the humidity on it and I'm stiffling. I feel like I'm in a sauna! LOL! But, I've become very educated on what a 'heat index' is. I am going to buy an air conditioner today!

Pooky -- Miree's hair looks very cute! She is so adorable!

It looks like we are going to be HOME OWNERS (!!!!) next summer! I am getting everything together to do my homework to figure out how to buy a house, especially since we will probably be here and the house will be in Oregon! But, I'm sure if I read up, I will do just fine. I could also use all the advice I can get (hint, hint Ladies). This will be our first and it is VERY exciting for us.

Right now I am off to shower and take dd to camp! DD#2 is doing MUCH better with her transistion. At least she has stopped her incessant whining and has also quit peeing on everything!

Have a great day! I am determined to stay OP -- I've been doing fairly well and much better with my water. Hopefully, the trip pounds will melt away!

Boy do I feel like a slug. Still in my jammies! I have the laundry going and folding 2 other loads of sheets. I have a load of socks to do, but I hate doing socks.

We should hit 100 today. I think I have found my melting point. DH and I were to play golf this morning, but it becomes really hard to grip that sucker when your hands are glistening.

As for the contractor? Well, I have a letter out to my lawyer. DH wants to get back the “management Fees” he charged for the job, and the cost of the job. We will see what happens. I did call my neighbor who is waiting for an estimate for a similar job, and without bad mouthing I told her about the money problems and now about the new leak. I said I was not telling her NOT to use him, but more telling her of my current experience.

Ok off to straiten up the house for friends.

-L

Pooky: I could pinch those cheeks, but I might be considered child abuse these days.

Default I've had a perfect morning...

Things have been great this morning: Woke up naturally (no alarm, husband or cats to force me up) had plenty of time to ride my bike and straighten up the house & start the dishwasher, Got to the health clube before the 10:00 water aerobic class started, Had a great workout, (instructor must have ate Wheaties for breakfast) Hair actually turned out decent, not traffic (the lights even turned green when I approached) Got half my AVON order delivered, and still made it to work on time!!!

Maybe I need to hide out this afternoon.

Oh I forgot the most importiant thing.!!! The first thing I did when I go up was to get on the scales, and I'd lost another 2 pounds!!! I love this low carb WOE

Talking Happy Friday/Hump Day!

The real Friday is going to feel like Monday, ugh. No vacation for me that day, we are one short this week. Maybe next time!

It's hot, Hot, HOT! I can't stand it, I really can't wait for winter. (Of course, then I will be freezing and whining about that, too! )

I ordered pizza, shame, shame, shame! It's too hot to cook though, so it's a planned cheat. I am not worried about it either!

Ya'll have a good one, I'll talk to you later!
