Default I was thinking of trying

I was thinking of trying this tomorrow, how bad is it. I believe I am a carb addict so this will be hard for me, but I am willing to try anything so start this weight loss thing....I don't think I could stick with it forever but if I start to see the scale move abit I might get motivated.

How much have you lost?

DCH,

If you don't mind me suggesting, why don't you try CAD ??? you might do better and feel less deprived.

Good luck !!!

It's not TOO bad, but it is restrictive. I found that I was pretty tired the first 3 days, and I had 1 headache. But after that, I was chock full of energy and felt great. The key is (esp. on Induction) to keep up with it, come here for help if you need it and to drink lots of water. Also, I write down everything I eat to help me track my progress, and I weigh myself EVERY DAY. You can totally see results each day.

The first time I did this I lost 13lbs in 2 weeks. Then, I started modifying, adding carbs a little at a time. I fell off the wagon when I went to Dallas for my best friends 30th birthday. It was a beer fest and I think that triggered my cravings. I've gained 5lbs back.

Try it, see if you can stick it out. Hop onto this site for encouragement-everyone here is rooting for you!!

I've been on induction since 4/15 -- The first week I lost 7 lbs.. ever since then, I'm losing at a fairly steady 1 lb/wk. Every once in a while I see something (rye bread, cake, ice cream) that I think I want to eat..... as soon as I give myself permission to have it for my birthday - I no longer want it!!! The whole "deprived" thing is really not as bad as I thought it would be - without all those carbs in my system, I'm really not having many cravings. So, I figure if I (who am a complete and total chocoholic and carb addict) can do this, you can!

However, for my birthday (which is coming up) dh gave me tix to the Mets/Braves game at Shea -- I have given myself permission to have 1 hot dog (maybe 2) and a beer at the game! After all, what's a ball game without a hot dog and beer

A baseball game without beer and a hotdog is against everything humane in the world today.

Samsgrandma, I just had to say I'm a BIG Braves fan.

Are you one of the people that chants Larry, Larry, Larry at our beloved Chipper Jones? LOL

Debbie

Ps, wish I could go with you, those are always great games.

deb - not only am I one of THOSE , but I was at that first game when Rocker pitched at Shea after his loud mouth remarks.. the one where there were 100's of NYC cops at the stadium to protect his worthless @$$........ the noise in the stands was deafening - I had a walkman in my ears, on full volume, and couldn't hear it for all of the chanting and stomping -- NONE of which I contributed to
