Morning everyone!

Ahhh.... the coffee is brewing, can you smell it? Who wants a cup? What a gorgeous day - finally, no rain this morning... perhaps Noah can finally put away his hammer and nails!

Oh well, what does everyone have planned for today? Personally, my plans are to maybe do some housecleaning (ugh yuk phooey) and, most importantly, look for a job
After all, since I finished school, I don't have any more excuses How about the rest of you? Plans? No Plans?

Whatever you do, I hope you all have great days!

Good morning!

Down another 1/2" today! I just LOVE that gym! (Scale hasn't moved but I'm working that issue, too.)

DS6 has an Awards Ceremony at his school at 9:30 this morning. Then I am taking him and DS12 to the middle school to meet DD. She and a guidance councelor are taking DS12 for a tour of the school as he will be going there this fall (he's moving in with us permanently as of this Friday night ).

Gotta remember to run to the YMCA and pay the first week fee for DS6's summer camp program.

Can't go to the gym tonight. DH is taking DS12 back to his ex tonight to finish up the school year at her house. No daycare available at the gym after 7:30 (which is when my aqua class starts ). Oh, well. DH said he'd stay with the kids tomorrow night so I could go and wo on my own. Not as much fun as the class but better than not working out at all.

Hope you all have a great day.

JO the scale is not moving but you are gaining muscle and losing fat muscle weighs 5 times as much as fat!! so you are shrinking and gaining lean muscle that will help burn the fat faster so do not think you need to do more suddenly the scale willd drop just be patient!

plan for today cleaning and exercise not much else just a bit of desperate job hunting!

Good morning, Earlybirds.

Well, yell at me but I did something I vowed I'd never do - I washed the kitchen floor twice at 6 this morning! It was incredibly dirty and Gail arrives to clean at 8. The first wash was mainly mud and the floor ended up beige - a nice even beige without the paw prints. The second wash got it back to white.
I cannot believe how much mud those Girls tracked in over the weekend! I am going to start hosing their feet off on the deck before they come in. Hmmmm - need an awning over the door area so I don't get wet!

DH is sitting looking at the darn soccer - another exciting day is unfurling. I may go to town and do some shopping this afternoon - I really need fresh veggies and also need a SUperStore fix.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Everyone! We had an absolutely gorgeous weather weekend here for a change. I don't want to say that too loud, cuz I'm sure it will start to rain if I do. Well, it's official, my DH's right hand man did take the new position and will be leaving in a month. My DH is very happy for him, but is in a terrible blue funk because he just has no idea on how he will be able to keep his business going so smoothly without the guy. Not to mention that they are best friends. It's all within the same company, so not much you can do about it. Of course, he is the typical male and "doesn't want to talk about it" soooooo, we don't. I kept him busy helping me with projects this weekend. He and DS and I hand sanded the wood floor in the entryway, restained it and I have one coat of the high gloss on it and am getting ready to put on the second this morning. It looks MUCH better. Got in some exercise both Sat. and Sun. and we grilled out both days--lemonpepper fish on Sat. and Shrimp Scampi and steaks last night. Tasted great AND low carb! Todays, agenda involves the floor, exercise, laundry, and carpooling DS and friends to and from football, and then later on basketball camp. Thank goodness his friends live just down the block--sharing the driving makes it much easier.

nasus and samsgrandma, good luck on the job front!

jd, congrats on that 1/2 inch--you go girl!

scooby, enjoy that workout and have a great day at work!!

Hello to everyone yet to come!!!

Default Good Morning Everyone!

Annie we need to redo our hardwood floors. Did you have a hard time doing it, I don't think we can do it by hand the area is too big. Our house is only 10 years old but we found out that the builder only put on one layer of coating, so we are in need of a redo.

Ruth, years ago when I had a cleaning lady, gosh I miss those days, I used to clean before she came also. It's just something about women, we can't let another woman see our house really dirty. LOL

sue good luck on the job hunt.

Jo another 1/2 inch that is wonderful.

scooby you inspire me to exercise.

I have some running around to do today. I should really stay home and clean, but it can wait, it won't go anywhere.

Have a good one
Debbie

Good Morning everyone!

Running around trying to conquer Mount Laundry this morning--I'm wearing a pair of dh's underwear becasue I have run out! Trust me, checked the quality of the underwear before putting it on! LOL

Had a wonderful weekend with my brther, unfortunately it rained for most of the weekend so we were inside most of the time. Didn't matter anyway, we got to visit lots and had a great time! My nephew is getting so big and what a little charmer--aahh, 8 months old is wonderful! And I got to see one of his first--he crawled for the very first time! I was so happy to share in it

Raining cats and dogs here so it's tidy, clean, tidy, clean. I'm the cleaning woman in this house so there's no one to impress!

Debkay, it really isn't that hard to do the floors--the sanding of course takes the longest. My DH is a stickler for making sure everything is perfectly smooth (DS and I thought it looked good MANY times before we got the go ahead) When we lived in our other house all of the floor were wood--my DH would use a belt sander and a fine grit sandpaper for those. After sanding, vacumn it really well to get up all of the dust and then I ran a Swiffer over it also. The it is just a matter of applying the gloss. Boy, how amazing that a whole afternoon of work can fit into one paragraph!!

As for me, got my 2 mile exercise walk in,the second coat of gloss on the floor and the first load of laundry in the washing machine---God, don't you just love Mondays!

Talking Hi everyone!

What a fabulous day! I am of course being sooooooo sarcastic as I say this. I finally went to the meeting to end all meetings and found out that whatever's eating my supervisor is personal and she's taking it out on me and one other person in our company. So guess what happened? We all 3 got written up. Of course, the big boss did say that he understood where the problem was coming from and that he was sorry, but it's policy, and we all got a verbal warning, written down???? I'm confused, but therein lies the problem. We all 3 were told that there is to be ABSOLUTELY NO MORE HOSTILITY AT ALL WHATSOEVER AS OF TOMORROW AT 9:00 A.M. I'm using all caps because that's how it was put to us. So our write-up says we all had an ongoing argument (?? Who, me????) and we shall do better or it will go to the second level. Which is yet another write up, followed closely by suspension without pay, followed by termination. So, I have to be nice whether I want to or not. Dang, I had a good one all worked out to pull on her, too!!

Anyway, still smoke-free and still O/P, which are two miracles for which I should be eternally grateful! I'm off to cook some more dang squash (I'm starting to hate that stuff!) maybe I'll make a casserole this time. I'm running out of ways to cook it!! Anyway, got lots to do, so hope you're all having a wonderful evening. Talk to ya'll later!!

First -- Thank you all for your encouragement and congratulations. It certainly put a shine on what has been a rather blue funk day.

I've noticed since I started working out that I've been more tired than usual and the carb cravings are extremely high. At first, I put it down to a change in schedule but it's been three weeks now and I still could take a nap around 3:00 PM every day.

Maybe I'm not getting in the right vitamins/minerals? I had stopped taking the supplements. Perhaps it's time to start them up again.

Has anyone else had this happen to them when they start a serious work-out routine? My cravings are out of control. I actually insisted DH get me some chocolate yesterday! He was so concerned about the level of my craving, the dear came back with three bags of chocolate candy. I know he meant well but THREE?!? I've had him hide the portions I didn't consume so I won't be tempted anymore.

Of course, now I feel really guilty about that major misstep. Misstep? Heck, that was a freaking leap!

If the darn rain stops tomorrow, I'm going out there and not stopping until I completely finish off my yard! That should work off most of that chocolate.

Sorry for the venting, Ladies. Hope I didn't bore anyone.

Hi all,

I missed morning totally and will just have to do an evening check in. You morning people amaze me. I wake up just in time to get ready for work and head out the door. If I were to sit down at the computer before I left for work, I might never get there!

I am getting ready to take the kids to taekwondo and I just plain don't want to go. I paid for the darn thing, I should go. I'm so tired though - have been all day. Woke up tired today for some reason. I know I'll feel better if I go (okay, I know it in theory but I really don't much believe it right now!). Time will tell what I shall do...just drop them off or get out there and work out.

I am preparing for an upcoming surgery on 07/25. A huge hernia will be repaired and at the same time a bunch of excess skin and ugly FAT will be removed. I need to get in the best shape possible before then. I got instructions from the surgeon today, but only part of the procedures are listed, so tomorrow is phone call day. Hopefully, all will be straightened out. I have the insurance company approval right here, so I am sure it is just an oversight.

They recommend taking vitamin C to promote healing. I hadn't heard of that before. Maybe I'll go get some vitamin C while the kids are in TKD (and I'll go tomorrow, honest!).

My oldest just finished school and doesn't start summer school for a week, so he's lazing around. I am trying to convince him to get a summer job, but he's not thrilled with the idea. He worries me.

I'm doing good with not eating the obvious carbs (pasta, bread, etc.) but probably need to learn more about the less obvious sources. I love veggies, and probably need to learn which are higher and/or lower carb. Any suggestions?

Dawna

Default dawnajoy... so nice to see you here!!!

glad you're scheduled for the skin removal. i'll be so happy when that day comes for me!!!!

as for the high carb vegs: carrots, beets, peas, corn, winter squash [you know, the ones with the hard skins]. at least that's what i can remember. but these low-carb queens will have the real scoop..

as for my day, well. not bad. but i had to run to the chiropractor because of yesterday's car accident. oh. did i neglect to mention in????

i was too angry to post. mom and i had gone to a local mall to get peachie's oldest a birthday present, and of course, since it was sunday, it was mobbed.

and as we were leaving, this woman came flying through a stop sign and hit us right over the rear tire. they lost their license plate, and we bounced a bit, but no one was seriously hurt.

but i was seriously mad!!! thank goodness a policeman happened by in a couple of minutes. he had just the right combination of competence, charm, and humor, and he didn't make me talk to THAT WOMAN!!!!!!!

and my back was just a bit achy. not bad, but i can't let it get worse.

ick.
