Good morning to all!

Why am I up at 5:14...don't know could not sleep and gave up!

I have one of our supervisors riding to work with me which is a pain in the butt as she has to b there by 8am, I have no such restriction so Ican't go to the gym as I will get her there late. Just one more day so Ishould quit whining.

Work is going well, I think I have some issues but they are manageable...in HR I better have issues or Iwill be out of a job.!!!!

IT has been pretty hot here this week, we may have to turn the AC on. YUK!

I caught up on yesterday's thread sound like everyone is doing pretty well!!!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, Chickies. A cool 42F here with a soft rain this morning. I really appreciate the dog garden on days like this. Just open the door and let them go while I make coffee and prep their breakfasts!

This is day 3 on CALP and I'm feeling fine! I don't even have the 4 p.m. munchies anymore. BUT I am still not drinking enough water - unless 16 oz. is enough? Tell me it is, puh-leez!

Dug dandelions for a few hours yesterday and really feel it today! I have a new garden toy, a weed torch, which is supposed to zap them with a flame. However, it takes a few days for them to croak and I want them gone right away. The only good thing about dandelions is dandelion wine and bouquets for little kids to pick. The 3 year old across the road gave me a dandelion bouquet yesterday - I love little kids!

DH did BBQ chicken thighs last night. How the heck does one BBQ chicken and get it cooked just right without burning the outside? He is a good BBQ cook but never seems to hit the mark with chicken. Should we pre-cook?

This morning is "clean the fridge morning" because we are going to Kingston for a medical appointment for DH (dink doc) and then to shop in a real supermarket! Be still my heart! My dear BIL is coming tonight for dinner - he has a standing invitation whenever Joan is off on one of her many business trips. I have that pork chop and salsa casserole ready to go but hope to get some really nice veggies in town. I can hardly wait for my garden - we did have our first feed of asparagus last night.

I'd better get with it and start my "chores". Will check in later this afternoon.

I'm back and I'm bad! LOL Not really I just wanted to say that!

Actually, all my news is good! Dh and I booked 3 days at the end of the month to go to Niagara Falls for some quality me and him time together. it will be our first vacation alone in 4 years. We are really excited, we got a nice package deal including some meals and the jacuzzi suite (yahoo!) for about $200 Canadian. I'm really excited just to go to the casino, maybe I'll win big?

Today is the final day of carpet cleaning, grrr, I hate this job but I really have to do it sincewe have a woodstove and the smoke can get imbedded in the carpet and it makes it all gross and smelly. The quality of the air is nicer already in here and the carpets look so much fresher. Ahhh spring, fresh air and clean carpets!

Have a good one chicks!

Good Mornig ladies,

Been a bit MIA lately, just have not felt like doing anything. DH has been gone on business and the Darren has been a real handful. He has been having little tantrums in the evenings. I do not know if it is because his dad is gone or because of Kudo. Maybe a bit of both. So between my pms-ing and his tantrums, it has not been a pretty site in our home lately. Thank goodness for Don, what a little gentleman. He goes out of his way to get a door for me, he tries really hard to please Darren so he does not go into a tantrum, he even tapped two goals in for Darren while playing air hockey, he noticed Darren was getting a bit frustrated with the score. What a sweetheart. Because of his behavior, I told Don he could choose between Chuck E Cheese or Spiderman movie. So we went to see Spiderman last night. It was good, but some parts were a bit scary for the boys. We ran into our vet at the movie, he is so wonderful. He crouched down to the boys level and asked each one how they were doing. It was good for the boys to express themselves to him.

Ruthie, my mom always says that dandelions were her favorite flower, because she always got bouquets of them from her children. Regarding chicken, I slow cook the chicken on the grill with constant turning. My MIL always precooks.

Mamaj, I loved your pigeon poop story, and I am so glad for Stephen, I bet he had a good laugh over his mom's "good luck."

Chickadee, I am so glad to hear your problems are not related to cancer, hope they can find some answers for you.

Goomba, I am happy to hear all is quiet on your homefront and that dh is wising up.

Jenni, one more day till dh returns. Glad dm is helping out.

Jiff, but of course that company will be bending over backwards to keep you, they must know what we have known here for a long time that you are a real gem!

Scooby, I am so glad that work is going well for you.

Hey Pooky, the trip sounds wonderful, we really need some quality time with men in our lives.

Have a great op day

Morning Chicks!

Wish I could stay, but alas mom is here, so I need to get here moving -- I swear she can't get out of the house before noon. (I have to remember -- be nice, be nice!)

Ok. Hope everyone is good. I will check in later and catch up on you all!

sherrie.. congrats on this major decision. how are you stopping? it;s a lot to conquer, both the weight and the smoking things. have you considered nicotine gum?

and jenniedondar.... thank you so much for the vote of confidence. they are such nice, smart, talented people. but they're nuts.

and, something interesting today. iive been working on a particular project and finally talked to the person who was running it. she works offsite in another state, and she's been quite ill [don't quite know with what]. now, i told a couple of people here about the surgery, not that it's been a hot topic, but i wanted them to be aware that there would be some major changes over the short term, and since many folks just won't hire heavy people, i wanted them to know that this would be temporary..

anyway.... this woman talked to one of the two senior vps today, and told her that the doc said that she needed to seriously consider having hte surgery. and she's understandably nervous about it. the vp told her to talk to me about it!!! but as a coincidence, just as she was heading to the phone to call me, i called her instead about something to do with work!!!

a very interesting conversation. very interesting turn of events. when this surgery was first suggested to me more than two years ago, i refused it and said that there was no way i would go through with this. and now, well, all i will say is that there's a place for it. i simply wish it didn't ahve to be this way.

and i flunked water drinking again today. i really ahve to get cracking at it, or my kidneys will be unhappy!!!!!
