what is it with those people i'm freelancing for???? i've told them all kinds of reasons not to hire me, and they seem to be determined to do it!!!! i've told them that i will not let them work me into the ground, that unless they make some commitments [management-wise] into improving their process and infrastructure, i won't last more than a year or so.
i've told them i wanted more money and a private office, and they've agreed.
in short, i've done everything to be a pain in the neck, and they still think i'm wonderful!!!
the kicker is [and you ladies will LOVE this one!!!] the owner of this privately held company is a man, and by all accounts he is very impressed with me. but according to my boss, he has COMMITMENT ISSUES!!!! can you imagine/??? we're talking about an employee, not a wife!!!!!!
don't get me wrong. there are wonderful people there, very hard working, knowledgable, dedicated, but 'ladies room' conversations suggest that they're tired of being worked to death, they're fed up with reviews that are 5 or more months late, and the fact that the salary increase is retroactive is irrelevant. they're tired of the constant chaos.
oh well.
otherwise, things are going ok. i'm starting to wonder how much i've lost, so it'll be a trip to the chiropractor's just to borrow his scale [and he always gives me a hug anyway]

L... i've heard from other moms that girls these days can be very mean, and no one believes that they're causing problems!!! combine that with the message that boys get that they're not supposed to fight with girls, and i feel so sorry for the boys!!!! good luck
by the way, this doesn't apply to jenni's daughters, or pooky's little miree or to scooby's daughter, or liz's girls, or leens' baby or any of the other daughters of the chickies here. they're perfect in every way!!!!

and welcome MB. these forums don't really WORK, they just kind of ARE. when you have soemthing on your mind, just sit down and tell us. or if you decide you don't like us [you wouldn't do that, would you???? ] tell whatever group you've settled in.
