Talking Low Carb Question

color
Hi, question: can you do things like eat a burger w/o the bun, or have the INSIDE of a breakfast burrito (no potato of course)? Do these types of things count? Has anyone done this and noticed any difference? Thanks!

Hi DCH,

I would say it depends on the diet you are following, some are more strict about how many gms of fat you can have, etc..... but in general I would say yes, you can eat just the patty of a burger and the insides of a burrito as long as there's no carbs (sugars).

Hope this helps,

Leens

Thanks. I'm figuring out that all of these low carb diets are really trying to ween you off sugar. I found one online called the Go-Diet. Anyone heard of this? It's 50gms of carbs/day (not the 20gms on Adkins) and you can have veggies, which really helps me (vegitarian). Has anyone tried this?

I think when you follow ww/low carb its 100 gms of carbs a day. And yes, little carbs are better than no carbs.......in my own opinion that is

OK - 300 carb grams is the recommended daily intake for "normal diets". You can check this on www.fitday.com.
Atkins limits carbs to 20 per day during the 2-week induction perios. CAD and CALP want carbs at 2 meals kept very low - like 5 per meal but allow unlimited carbs at the 3rd meal AS LONG AS equal amounts of protein, carbs and veggies are eaten within a one-hour time period.
On WW Lower Carb, I allow myself about 100 carbs a day but don't agonize over it!
My very best advice is to borrow the low carb books from the Library or research on the net before chosing a plan.
Good luck but rely on knowledge and planning.

OK just juming in here but who says you can not ahve vegies on low carb??? I live on vegies!!! they are almost free you subract the fiber from the carbs and voila spinach is almost free and so are may others. okra, cabage. soukrout, broccoli caoulflower, string beans almost everything except corn, peas and winter squash!!!

so to the next question guess what i had for dinner??? hamburgers i did not eat them on a plate guess what i did??? took a leaf of letuce and pladed it ont he bottom, hamburger mayo cheese and then another leaf of lettuce (fold it up it hold better) and you will not miss the bun!!!

I eat my tacos the insides and sprinkle cheese micro and yummmm!

burritos?? the beans especially the ones for burritos are high in protein and fiber so YES!!!! just watch the amounts. also the benas like that are very low on the glycemic index, which means it raises the insulin levels slowly so you do not have such the effect as refined fowers and sugars.

any other questions????:
