Morning all! Just caought up on yesterdays posts, too busy at work to even get in here...YUK!
Just got back from the Y, signed DD up for swimming lessons at the end of the month. OF course since she is 2 1/2 Iwill have to get in with her...fabulous!
Heading to FL in less than 2 weeks, I need a vacation. My parents live at the beach south of Daytona near New Smyrna Beach. I hope we have good weather!
Well I must get in the shower..have a great day everyone!
With all the Super Bowl excitement, I forgot to mention that we had a great time on Saturday. In between soccer games, we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters. They are great entertainment. The boys had their eyes glued to the court and were laughing so hard, it was a real treat just watching them. Even dh was letting out a full loud laugh, it takes a lot to get him laughing out loud. It was great family fun!
Pooky congrats on getting your period, my prayers are with you for a little gift of joy!
Peachie, sound like you have a wonderful relationship with your sisters, that is so special! Pinocchio, hmmm, is the little guy telling some tall tails?
Nice to see you post MamaJ, hope you continue to improve. Congrats on the compliments, they can be a real motivator!
Goodforme, I do hate how everybody has to scramble when it comes to the big shots.
Scooby, I loved those days of mommy & me classes. At six and nine my boys are getting too independent, but I will always have those wonderful memories of the fun we had in swim classes. I just signed up my boys for tennis on two different nights, which becomes a great time for me to exercise.
Good Morning Scooby and Jenny and all those to come!
Got seriously PO'd at dh last night so I went downstairs and slept on the loveseat--wrong thing to do! Now I have a kink in my neck. Next time I'll send dh down to sleep on the loveseat!
It's very cold outside right now, it's -23 degrees celcius (don't even ask me farenheit) with wind chill--can you say COLD!?! All I know is I already have the fire going and it will be stoked good and high today.
Speaking of fire, I burned myself on the oven yesterday--ouch! Was moving my roast turkeyand hit the top element! Right on my finger too! I don't recommend doing that!
Would somebody in a warm climate please take me in? It is -18F right now - I hate to think what it was at 6:30 out there behind the barn. The gorgeous pink sunrise was nice but sure was frosty.
Hey Scooby2 and Dondar - lend me a kid or two? I need some motivation to get off my butt and get some exercise. If Tayler didn't live so far away, I'd sign us up for Grammy and Me swim classes. I wonder if they would accept me with Lucy for lessons.
Too bad about folks who don't chat to others in our chatroom. I have run across that a few times - sometimes I ask if I'm invisible or have died and been reincarnated as a person in a chat room.
Chat is supposed to be fun and supportive - personal chats are for Yahoo or MSN, IMHO. We should try for a LC chat one of these nights. How about tonight after 8 EST?
MamaJ - so nice to get those compliments. Too bad you had tro get sick to get them but hey! Whatever works.
Pooky, I wondered for a bit why you were happy about your period when you were trying to get preggers. Then it clicked about your funny schedule. I sure remember those days very well! Hubby used to come home for "lunch"!
Goodforme, that sucks! Cleaning up for "the suits" is a never fun - especially on short notice. Where is FlyLady when you need her?
Peachie, you are lucky to have two sisters! I have only one and could use an extra sometimes. Give Jiff a big hug for me.
Hi and keep on trucking to those I have missed.
An at home day today because of the cold. DH has to go to the Library so I will have him do the bank deposit. I have some desk work to do - pulling together the volunteer list from last year's syrup festival for the new coordinator - they finally believed me when I said I was not going to do it again! I also have some minutes from our annual Church meeting last month - gotta do them while I still remember what my notes mean! Somehow I don't think I'll be doing any outside puppy training today!
Goodforme...I am sending you a pair of steel toed boots!!!
Just a quick note, I am off to meet some friends for breakfast and then off to run some errands for mom. Seems as tho Jiff has rolled a bunch of coins that mom has hidden from imaginary intruders...her favorite place for old coins is a garbage can covered with old, used tissues! Anywhooooo, (this you needed to know right?) since Jiff has a 30 pound lifting weight limit, I am going to carry the rolls (of coins...ha) to the bank.
Might be a national day of mourning coming up...I am considering giving up my lovely cream in my coffee! When does lent start anyway? Maybe I will wait until then.
To my dear canadian friends, it is chilly here but it has not reached my limit for going out. My absolute, I will not go out is when my nose hair freezes (you needed this info too?) SO COME ON DOWN!!!!!!!!
ok, I am done...aren't you glad!!?
feeling lighter!
peach
ps...Ruthie....what the heck were you doing behind the barn at 6:30am? oh! yea! right! the dogs!!!!(ouch...that chicken purse hurts!)
Oh, Peachie! *sob* You retired your Santa for the year!
Think Sooner still has Christmas stuff out?
LOL - love ya guys!
Kel
P.S. I'm going for my evaluation (read that humiliation) at Curves for Woman this morning. They opened up one about 5 minutes from my house and I took that as a sign. (See? *looking up* I can take a hint.)
Hi -- I am new to the 3FC. I want to keep my diet in line with low carbohydrates because the doctor indicated that I should. I started dieting (or changing my life style) in September at 235 lbs (I am only 5'6"). I am presently down to 200 lbs. My personal goal right now is 180 lbs (the doctor would like me to reach 150 lbs -- haven't been that small for twenty years).
Welcome Babbs, and hello and good afternoon to everyone....
I posted on the Bliz about my food intake yesterday. Doing well so far.
About living in a warm climate, how does 80+ F sound? I live on Margarita, a small island owned by Venezuela. It is dry here too, so it is good for your health. It is the newest resort spot that the travel agents are talking about...(not as touched as say the VI or Bahamas. It has its good parts and its bad parts but I love it. Especially the heat. I couldn't run back when i lived stateside during the winter months. Too cold, but then again, some might say that 90+ year round is too hot. especially if you have no AC. (like us.)
Anway, hope everone has a great day and keeps up teh good progress. I tried the Spicy Ethiopian Chicken recipe that i foudn on teh boards the other day....Fantastic. we love spicy. I often do that whole cinnamon/cayanne/cardamom thing with ground turky or beef. We cook the meat, add taco seasonings and mix in the cinnamon and stuff at the end. It is fantastic....
Kel - Do you have official word that Peach really and truly took down the decorations? OMG! Geez, at this point, she and Sooner might as well leave them up til next year - NOT! There's a house near here in a town called Hygiene (I kid you not!) that is still lit up every night in it's finest Christmas regalia. I honk like a maniac every time I drive by just because it makes me feel better.
MM2 - I tried the Ethiopian Chicken too. It's really, really good. I think I might make it tonight. It's really cold here and the spicy stuff seems to warm us right up.
Pooks - Did you see the new Trading Spaces on Saturday? I don't think I could live with that circus tent theme thing going in my house! And painting the couches hot pink - ewww!
Ruth - I think a chat sounds pretty cool. I'll check in tonight after 6 our time to see if there's anyone there.
Babbs - Welcome! You've come to the right place. Sometimes the conversation has to be steered back to low-carbing, but we're a pretty good bunch. If SOME people wouldn't keep their darn Christmas decorations up all year long, we could concentrate on our food plans!
*whispering to Babbs* Watch out for Peach Pit and Sooner. They have a thing for decorations, a hunk named Raoul, and thongs. Otherwise, we're all pretty normal!
As for me, I'm hanging on by my fingernails. I have to admit, I was a good OP girl up until I went to my friend's Super Bowl party and then had a rough time Monday too. I'm back and strong today, but wondering if I will ever, ever see any movement of any type of measuring device.
Must go walk away the pounds now.
Have a good one y'all
Chickadee
I just love ya'll!! I had to go re-read yesterday's post and now I'm so ashamed I'm so sorry for going on and on like that, but sometimes you just need to vent, you know? Anyway, no more of that, today was a great day!
Went to get taxes done with a sense of dread, and left with a huge grin Am getting back waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I thought I would, planning to pay off a few bills and join the gym. And buy a new microwave and a crock pot and a phone and some new clothes and. . . maybe I better save some, huh? It will be such a relief to get out from under this debt.
