  • Good (early) morning ladies!

WHy am I up, who knows could not sleep...I am going to attempt to go back to bed after I read the paper. Of course that means I have to go out in the 16 degree weather alk down the hill to get it and then back up it before I freeze to death...supposed to get freezing rain tonite and snow tommorrow. I understand we are like the Carolinas and the world stops when it snows....lovely

Hope you all have a great day. Talk to you later!
  • Good Morning all, I'm up too. Got some travellling to do.

Got my hair cut yesterday, use to be long, way past my shoulders, now its up to my neck. Looked great yesterday, god only knows if I will be able to do what the stylist did I'm not suppose to wash it for 24/48 hours( highlights too) and yep I got bed head
Guess I will just use the blow dryer once I"m dressed and almost ready to go.

    Everyone have a nice day
  • Well I have to make my trip to the hairdresser's this morning Wendy!!

Just a little tidying up and tonight we are going to the casino to celebrate my birthday and do a little gambling! Maybe I'll win big, don't you think?

    Have a good one everyone!
  • Good Morning!
Coffee anybody, I just made a big pot!

Today is list day- I have a list as long as my arm and just will start at the top and work my way down! Last weekend got shot with funeral visits and babysitting and I got nothing done! But today I WILL catch up!

My eating was good for 4 days, and poor for 2, I am ended Pooky's challenge/recommitment UP ONE POUND! How frustrating is that? This weekend I will make some LC dishes that I haven't had for a while, I think I need more volume in my stomach- so veggies are the way to go. Cabbage and ground beef for dinner, that always fills me up. And I had WW entree's for lunch last week, I might try that again- the portion control thing is really my downfall lately- although the lunches had 20-30 grams carb each. But then I could have it like CALP- add a piece of fruit, then a zero carb dinner. We'll see.

I guess I could always exercise, but that is quite unlikely!

    What else?
CHickadee- We Easterner's always read the late posts! I may not get to it til the next morning, but I always read every single new post when I log on! I never want to miss a single word!

Have a great Saturday- Off to start the list in the kitchen(Flylady 101, shine my sink!).
  • Good Morning Kids,

Dottie, I'll be right there, hope its a BIG pot of coffee lol.

Scooby, I have to tell you a story because everytime I see your name it reminds me of my neice and brother.

Well I have a "little person" for a neice and she really loves Scooby Do, and my brother is the kind of person that looks like a repair man you see with the pants hanging down past the belly so you can see the crack of his behind especially when he bends over.

Well one night after work my brother took his shower and went and layed down on the living room floor and fell asleep before dinner.....Well my neice took the opportunity (she was only 4 at that time) to take her Scooby Do stickers and stick them all over my brother's rear-end, you know where his pants kinda hang low.......

The next day my brother went to work and bent down in front of the boss.......well the entire shop busted from laughter cause he had Scooby Do stickers ALLLLLLLLL over his rear-end. So now they say hey Scooby to him lololol..........kids are funny.

    Okay where's my coffee.................
Gotta do some serious cleaning and I'm making a turkey dinner today with alllllll the fixings.

Good day to all above and all who come after.

    Love Leens
  • Morning!

Leens!!! That story cracks (no pun there huh???) me up!!!!

Hey! Happy Birthday Pooky!!! I hope you win big big big and bigger!!!!

quiet day here...or at least I think it will be! A bit of wrestling for the big kid and a quiet day for me and the little guy.

Perhaps I should start on the basement today?? Perhaps NOT...surely there is a good book that needs to be read or (gasp) a toilet to clean!!!

Been doing ok low carb wise and I am even eyeing the scale that step daughter bought her dad (at his request..wonder WHY he did that?) for Christmas. So far, packed in its box it has not become too offensive!

Will drink ALL of the water today and continue to chase squirrels!

    not too bad and day!

  • A Late Good Morning
Laughing and coughing at the Scooby Doo Butt story! Leens does crack us up!

Nothing much happening here except loafing, taking drugs (which are working), drinking water, peeing and watching the dogs play. Hershey has completely reverted to puppyhood - even has a high puppy bark now! Lucy is starting to get the paper idea which sure saves on the mopping routine. Never get a puppy in the winter if you are in a cold climate. Anyhow, I'm not supposed to go outside for a while so it's paper training for now.

I'm debating about getting dressed today. Didja ever notice that men don't really believe you are sick if you are up and dressed? I may just stay in my cozy robe and furry slippers for the morning and whine a bit.

Pooky! Yesterday was your birthday and we missed it! Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you win big at the Casino tonight and can fly us all to Hensa's in South Africa.

Dottie, WW dinners are pretty good. I have been buying Michelina too. Some of the regular ones are even lower in fat and cals than WW. As soon as I am back to regular eating, I may do the CALP program with the carb meal at noon. I seem to eat low carb at dinner anyhow - unless it's a pasta night!

Tippy, hope you didn't kill the Physio person yesterday. I sure would not want to be dealing with you in a situation where I was causing pain! Just swat her lightly, OK?

And Bay_lee, I read all the new posts so don't worry about posting late. You could even start up the daily sometimes.

Wendy, I have very short hair and get incredible bed head. Just dampen it a little to fluff it up with the dryer. I think it's shampoo they worry about, not the water.

I know I've missed folks but am heading back for a nap. See you later.
  • Happy Weekend!!
POOKY~ I can't believe we missed your birthday! I'm soooooooooooo sorry and I hope you have a blast at the casino tonight!

Just a lot of cleaning today, and maybe throw out some toys (shhhhhhhhh, don't tell my daughter) that I've been stepping on for far too long. Is scrubbing and mopping considered exercise? If so, then I'm good for 2 days!

    Have a great weekend, everyone!
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO POOKY!!!
I am sorry that I missed it too! Have a great night gambling toniht!!!

  • Leens!!! That is TOOOOO funny. I can't wait to tell DH. He will get a kick out of it. Scooby Doo is very big here right now, I have a 4 and 2 yr old who will drop everything(even fighting) to watch it.
  • Good day all! Went skiing yesterday with hubby and the girls and it was a beautiful day for it...I fit into my one piece snow suit that was so in, about 12 years ago...I was feeling pretty proud of myself until I got there and when I did stuck out just a bit, totally not hip, oh well I was warm.

Really ready to get back into a routine, the days are just running together and getting further and further behind. I still have Xmas things to return...I will do it though.

So today is haircuts for the girls and returning of all the loose ends from Xmas.

Sounds like cleaning in order for everyone.

Have a good one! Liz in Canada
  • POOKY!!! Happy Birthday to YOU!!!!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe we let that slide! But, better late than never and I certainly hope you won a mint at the casino!

    Hi Everyone!

Cabbage? Yuck. Squirrel? Double yuck. But, my dh always tells funny stories of how when he was a kid he would sit at the dining room table with either a slingshot or a b-b-gun and try to pop one thru the window! Then he'd yell to his dad that he got one and his dad would run out there and they'd bring it in and fry it up! Remember, I grew up in Alaska -- wild game, sure but most EVERYTHING else came in a can or jar!

Oh Leens, your Scooby story is just TOO funny. "Cracked" me up I just about drowned the keyboard! LOL!!!

I have been sewing frantically all day. I bought the most beautiful fabric about 6 months ago to make a duvet cover, dust ruffle and window treatments. I FINALLY did the duvet cover yesterday/today. It's gorgeous! But, it's just so hard to find time to do things around here with my two adorable little "helpers" that I have no idea if and when I'll ever get the dust ruffle and curtains done!

Oh, and I bought some OxiClean! Have you ladies tried this stuff? It's awesome! I cleaned two really old chairs that had been my moms (covered in nicotine and cat pee -- they turned out great and the whites in my laundry are REALLY white. Even dh's work t-shirts (which were gray and nasty when he brought them home) are white again. Oh, and an old tanktop that I sleep in -- I could go on and on.

OK -- I've rambled. I hope you ALL have a great rest of the weekend!
  • Good Sunday Morning everyone!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I had a really nice birthday. My dh bought me a microwave and a paraffin wax spa. Can't wait to use the spa!! Wish we had some luck with us at the casino last night. We might as well have handed them our money and run! The dinner was really nice though, a lovely salmon steak stuffed with groud shrimp--mmmmmmm.

Came home last night to discover that our drain is thoroughly clogged and it is definitely looking like the septic system. Have a huge puddle on our basement floor (not the newly renovated area--whew!) Going to call on our neighbour's daughter's boyfriend who's just an amazing handyman to help us out.

Have a great Sunday chicks and DRINK YOUR WATER!!
  • Morning everyone. I am still in my robe. DH got up early this a.m. to do puppy duty - amazing what men can do when they have to.
Actually he has been quite sweet and is in love with Lucy.

Pooky, septic systems! Yick! I bet there are lots of folk on here who have no idea what one is. Sure hope it's an easy fix - winter is NOT the time for anything major to need doing.

Jenniewookie, your post almost sounds like a commercial for Oxi-Clean. Shall I delete it? LOL! It sounds like wonderful stuff but may not be available here in Canada.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I skipped Church because I am still coughing too much. We are going to have one more coffee in the light of the Christmas tree and then take the darn thing down. Anybody else still decorated?
  • Good Morning ladies,

Happy Birthday from me too Pooky, I didn't know. The casino, yep, sometimes I walk away from that place too saying, "Why didn't I just hand it over to them"? LOL. I go every week with a Client who just loves it there I use to get coupons for a free dinner, but haven't recieved any now close to a year, love the food.

Hi Ruth, I'm guessing you have a puppy (duh) How old is Lucy? Almost like having kids I would think. I have two dogs, god only knows what breed the older and bigger dog here is. The smaller one is a long haired chowawa (ok, wrong spelling, but I'm sure you get it). The bigger one is part husky and maybe german sheppard. These dogs are from the pound, or others who give up on them. The little one (peanut is his name), tends to pee around the house, drives me crazy, he is mature but has always had this habit, territorial I guess, or peeved that we have left him home? The bigger one (Scrappy) tends to have a sensitive tummy and yep you guessed it, she tends to vomit and lately quite often I think after these two, I may not have a dog for quite a while, take a break from cleaning up the mess!

Well off for a second cup of tea, then more then likely I will pop over to Zhers to do my Hallmark Cards (part-time job). Then home to relax We are kid free once again!

Morning to all that follows, have a great Sunday all
