Here we go! More snow last night - sure beats that freezing rain stuff! The cars are ice-coated again so no early trip to shop this a.m. DH needs to go for an eye appointment so I will drive into town with him and hit the pet supply place. Must remember to allow an extra 1/2 hour to de-ice.

Got attacked by white chocolate chips again last night. I knew I should not have cleaned out my baking cupboard! Next year I will treat Christmas like Halloween and BUY my baking at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Good Morning!

At least, not so good night for me last night--Miree's Christmas concert was cancelled!!! There was more freezing rain on the way and people just didn't want to take the chance. I'm so sad -- I was really looking forward to it! Oh well, there's alwasy next year....

Baking up a storm for me today, recipes are picked and I doubt I will cheat--I am the type that doesn't like chocolate chips much (unless they are melted and gooey in a cookie! LOL) Sorry to hear about the demise of the white chocolate chips Ruth.

Peach, you are the poster child for why I don't wait till the last minute! Don't forget to take a breath in amongst all your running around!

Morning Ruth, Peach, and Pooky -- you all are up and at 'em early this morning. Me? I'm sort of dozing into the day (w/bad dreams of crazed Chechoslovkians trying to kill me w/beer bottles and canons -- weird dreams! Beer bottle thing probably came from watching the Rams - Saints game until midnight. GO RAMS!). Really fighting off sick stuff -- boomer headache, stomach's marginal. Oh, shoot, I must really be getting old -- to start my morning post w/a personal health report!

Anyway!

Today is baking and finishing the tree day -- I spent I don't know how many hours wrapping each branch w/white lights (800+) -- about 1/2 way through -- no, make that 1/4 of the way through -- I wondered WHAT I HAD BEEN THINKING when I started this (one more) project. BUT, that said -- the tree looks like snow and starlight and candlelight, all rolled into one -- suits my Christmas spirit (no snow here yet, Ruth. Can I borrow a few inches of your?). I also worked it so that when we take it down, I can unplug it at strategic places and just leave the lights on it while we store it until next year. It's a good plan, but if one of my $1.95 strands of lights goes out, I don't know what I'll do!

Well, today is baking, picking up the brisket (sp ?) for Christmas dinner, sending last of the Christmas boxes and maybe a maverick Christmas card or two.

Got my grades in yesterday. It's a good thing!

Hey there gang! I've been lurking but too busy to post! Ohhhhhhhh for the days of being little and just showing up and enjoying Christmas - it sure was easier like that - this is a LOT of work!!!!

My youngest son has a Christmas Band Concert tonight - well actually we have something going on every night but hey - at least we don't usually have 2 places to be at the same time!

It is absolutely beautiful here in Louisiana - finally - cool and sunny - much much better then humid and hot!'

I've been trying to get in a walk every day and make sure I drink my water and watch my calories. I have set goals during the holidays but nothing unrealistic - just can't afford to gain any more weight.

Awwwwww Ruthie Hershey's soooooo cute. We had a dog that was a Cockapoo and she looks like Hershey...I'll have to dig up a picture, her name was Tammy.

Sooner I hear you on the lights.....my tree has about 1500 on it and everyone thinks I'm a nut BUT they say how pretty it looks........hehehehe.

Cathy, everytime I go to chat nobody's there so I don't even check anymore and with Christmas around the corner, been busy. Gotta see if Grace will let me chat one day before I go back to work.

Well ladies, off to change a funky diaper and to the store. Its windy and cold but nice out today (nice meaning no snow or rain).

I wish it would snow here. All it seems to do is rain, rain, and rain! I miss my white winters in Alaska.

Today is going to include a trip to Home Depot for a garbage can! Seems that recycling doesn't give you one for plastic bottles? Target had one, but it didn't have a lid!

I actually got a little Christmas shopping done yesterday. Ok, ok...one gift for my mom. But, what in the world do get a woman who has everything already? A burr mill coffee grinder! I figure if I add a couple bags of her favorite coffee, it'll be perfect! Now -- just to find something for my dad...........

Ruth, are you ok? I guess we can't say those white chocolate chips are "ruth"less, can we! LOL!! I love white chocoate! Hershey looks adorable!

I'm confused. My scale is stuck and it refuses to move, but today I put on a pair of size 18 pants I haven't been able to fit into, and they were too big. Have they stretched or have I shrunk? Maybe the fat moved upwards on my body!

Everyone sounds busy, busy, busy, so I feel like a slug! I need to put my tree up still (hey, I said a week from Christmas, so I have until midnight!!)
