Hello to my favorite Chicken Coop!
I have gotten all moved and all unpacked. The pictures are hung, the card board has been recycled (and there was a LOT of it)!
After 6 L-O-N-G months with my parents, it is nice to have our own home again! DH will be home on Thursday and my oldest DD is almost more excited about Daddy than about Santa Claus! (That could be because NO, we are NOT ready for Christmas!)
The move was pretty eventful. My girlfriend packed up her three kids and her husband from California to come help. My dad enlisted a co-worker and a good time was had by all. I never realized I had SO much stuff!!!
The only glitch (besides the phone not being ready), was when we went to the storage unit their was a managers lock on the door. I went to find out what the problem was and the lady (first day on the job) went to get the manager. The FEMALE manager, no teeth in, fresh stubble, says, "I can't deal with her, I just got out of bed". By this time I am pi$$ed! I want my stuff. They claimed that November wasn't paid for. I call the bank (Praise God for cell phones) and find out that the check was cashed on the 16th. THEN, they have to audacity to say, "No, it was October".....now I'm about ready to come over the counter....FINE, I call the bank back -- and who knows how, end up with the same Customer Service Rep. -- Yes, paid again, cashed on the 16th. The whole thing burned my butt, but they took off the managers lock and away we went with a 27 ft truck packed to the gills with our belongings!
I am no where near ready for Christmas. But, we only make an annual trek to the local Home Depot for our tree and I'm not really that picky, so we'll be in good shape. And, I even located the decorations!
Through this all I have managed to stay OP! (Call Ripley!) And, the scale has finally moved again. I'm beginning to see a trend where I loose once a month and then not again for weeks! But, anything that is going in a downward spiral is good!
