Starting us up.

I have a headache and the sniffles and sore throat this morning. I am going to self-medicate with zinc and echinacea lozenges and hope to head it off at the pass. Not a good time of year for sickies.

Be back in a bit after another coffee and maybe an Aspirin.

Oh my Ruth, make sure you drink lots of OJ today--yeah, I know it isn't Op but you have to keep up your strength. I lost 4 pounds the week I suffered with a cold!

Quiet day today, very chilly outside so it looks like a play date might be in order if I can arrange it!

Dh and I talked about our wee one last night and we've made some executive decisions. She is going to be attending daycare part time every morning instead of every other morning, she will have the baby gate in front of her door so there are no more surprises when we wake up, and I am going to get a part time job in the mornings to help pay for her daycare. I had a talk with her daycare teacher yesterday and it is clear that the type of child she is (busy, active, curious, fiercely independent) that the daycare is the best place for her to be. She was bored at home and craved the interaction of other children. Who am I to deny her??

So a job hunting I will go--the first one since I was 5 months pregnant with her! Well, hopefully something suitable will turn up--not in the food industry!!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Peach - WOW!! Lots of great news for you! Give Jiff my best!
Ruth - Hope you're feeling better. I don't think the 24 people in my department have all been in the office on one day in weeks. Lots of crud going around.
Pooky - Good luck with the job search. I know retail can be a b***h, but I'll bet a lot of stores are hiring holiday help right now.
Hi Leens, WWCIN, Kel & all to come.

Have a great day!

Jennifer

Default Handing Ruth some tissue......

Don't you hate colds and the flu. I hope I don't get either as that is all I'd need right now!
DD (Zookeeper16 on the Ten-pounds-at-a-Time forum) spoke to our doctors nurse about my edema. The nurse said I'm to lay down with my legs elevated for 20 minutes twice a day. Good idea exept I fall asleep and wake up feeling drugged!
A cold, very windy day here. Brrrrr! I want to hibernate until March! If bears can do it why not!
See you all later...gotta find some breakfast so I can take more meds. God bless!

Hi Tippy,

We were posting at the same time.

My mom had a mastectomy (sp?) 3 years ago and also had her lymph nodes removed, so she sometimes suffers from edema in her right arm. The doctor tells her the same thing - keep it elevated. She also has been admitted to the hospital a few times for IV antibiotics.

Thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Ruth - hope you feel better girlie!
Tip - you too - take care of yourself and elevate those feet! Now if you could just figure out a way to elevate them over the keyboard while we're chatting! lol
Leenie - have a good time with your mom!
Pooky - children are definitely a challenge and a blessing all rolled up into one!

I am feeling in control - 3 days on program - yesterday I even went walking at 5:00 when I finally got home. It is beautiful here in Louisiana right now. I plan to go walk at the mall during my lunchhour today if "life" does not get in the way. hehe If it does then I will just get it in after work again.

Do any of yall ever fix onion soup??? I fixed a pot of that last night for supper and it is very good and very low cal and very low carb!!! I always feel better if I have some soup!

Hope everyone has a great day and that I catch a few of you in the chatroom! hint hint

hugs, cathy

Oh no Ruth- Give yourself a break... lay down and rest, read a book and let the world go by for a change.....

Sorry for all you under the weather.....

Pooky what a great idea for your little one...I'm sure it will be sooo good for her.. Plus when you're working in the public it will give you a little boost too...

Tippy- I have really bad Coronary Artery disease and that what my heart doctors have always told me. Its hard to lay there if you don't want to and to keep from going to sleep!!!!

Cathy- You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're on CAD program at that recipe part of the book they have a good onion soup one. If not let me know and I'll find it and send it to you....

Beautiful here in Missouri, sun is out and its cool yet. But we've been blessed with some of the most beautiful fall weather.

The week is whizzing by!!!!!!!!! I'm still OP but its funny I'm still learning everyday..... Some of the big cravings have stopped. Last night was the first night I haven't climbed the walls wanting something?????? What could that have been with a stomach full..... Yep brain food..... Cause my gut sure didn't need it... Have a great day........

Good Morning (it's still morning here!)
I'm with Ruth today. I feel like crap. My throat hurts, my head hurts and my arthritis is having a field day. Thank goodness I work from home now, makes taking a sick day so much easier.
It snowed last night! I love snow and it was the first of the season. My only worry is now that my son's driving I have one more thing to worry about.
I am stuck weight wise. For the last two weeks the scale has refused to budge. Funny thing is, I'm not that worried about it. I have been totally OP since the first part of September. I never cheat. The only thing I've done different is start regular exercise. So, I'm figuring that my body is gaining some muscle which we all know is denser than fat. What this does mean is that I probably won't make my T-day goal (unless the whoosh fairy hits in a big, big way!) And (to quote Stewart Smalley - is that his name?) that's okay! It helps a lot in a stall to know that I'm doing everything I can and trust that the number will eventually go down. If I'm still stuck in a month, I might not be so accepting though!
Now that I've written a novel, I don't have time to post to any of you individually. Hope everyone has a good day!
Ruth, everytime I take an aspirin, I'll think of you!

Talking Afternoon all!!

Beautiful day here in Houston. It' so hard to believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner! I must admit I can't even think Christmas without thinking of Peach and her darn crafts! Even found myself looking at some beginner stuff last week! Notice I said looking! Like I really need more projects in my day!

I'm without vehicle---AGAIN! One of the workers van is in the shop, so, he has dh's little truck, the transmission went out in dh's other work truck so, he's got my suburban! Me? I've got two legs! I don't mind usually but yesterday was Stephen's 18th B-day and I had to postpone the family get together as I have had no way to the store! Not a happy mommy! I did manage to have a friend of his run to the mall to pick up his Polo boots and that was the extent of his celebration! I had rescheduled for this evening but it's 12:30, still no vehicle and still no shopping!

Ruthie~hope you feel better! You need to pamper yourself more!

Leenie~Hi girl! How's motherhood going?

Cin~CINNNN !! Good to see you!!

Pooky~Your little ones stories remind me so much of next door granddaughter! Those kids would lose their sanity if she didn't have the structure and interaction from her day care! Good luck!

Jennifer~I think our cold nights and warm days has everyone sniffling! DH & DS have been battling it for a couple of weeks!

Tippy~How about reading a good book while you're lieing down? Maybe your interest will keep you awake!

Cathy~Chat is something I miss but seem to so seldom have the time for and when I do, I sit and talk to myself ! lol I'll try more often!

Toni~WTG staying op! I'm on day four-it feels so good, doesn't it?

Chick~ Love your positive attitude concerning that stubborn metal monster! Hope you feel better! (darn, I just sneezed!) You guys are passing it around!

Peach~What absolutely fantastic news about Jif!! Darn--your phone line is busy! HANG UP !!!

DebKay~~Where are you?

LindaBC~Just so proud of your accomplishments!

Jenny, Sooner, AdoAnnie, S.T.M. Queen Nasus, Dottie,Ynaught, Kirei, Liatris, Kel, Hensa, other lurkers and those to come

Have a wonderful day!

Talking Hey, guess what, everybody!!

I managed to stay OP aaaaaaalllllllllllll day today. WHOOPEE!!!!!!!

Well, sort of, because I didn't have breakfast (yuck!) but I did eat salad for lunch and dinner is steak and probably asparagus, NO CARBS, I SWEAR!!

Got the car from the shop today, turns out the water pump AND the radiator were bad. After finally thinking it was fixed, it leaked anti-freeze all over the parking lot at work. Guess where it's coming from now? The darn radiator cap! What next??

My sister Connie, or El Pregola, as I affectionately call her, went to the dr. today. She's measuring 36 weeks and she's only 32. She's miserable, and they told her if she went into labor right now they would be happy, but they still haven't changed her due date. So anytime between now and December 13. Weird, huh?

Well, everyone have a great rest of the day.
