Good morning everyone. Looks rainy and dreary here too.. Maybe that sun will peak out later. Guess I'll do a bit of laundry today and maybe a little cleaning. And just kind of stay around the house. Would be a good day to curl up with a book. But will go for the ole treadmill and get up to fifteen minutes today. Day three of the contest we can do it.... Toni

Good afternoon everyone--it's been a busy day so far and it started at a quarter to 5 am when missy boots woke up. I kindly escorted her back to bed and woke up at 7:20 this morning--a more reasonable hour!

Dh strung up our Christmas lights this morninf--they look really neat! They are icicle lights but they are multi couloured so the effect is really neat. Dhe thinks they look really good too. Dh is reposotioning our satellite dish and needed the help of a guy he works with to use hi Bobcat (one of those little digging machine type things) to dig a post hole and then he dug out my garden for me! Isn't that great?

I have been climbing the laundry mountain all day and hae cleaned the major areas of the house. I am hoping to hit my office area sometime today--can't find anything for the paperwork!

Hope you all have great days everyone!

Whew! We worked at the Church from 8 until 1:30 and planted 1000 assorted daffodil bulbs. Sure will look good in the spring!
The morning was sunny and lovely but now it has turned a bit cool. I am going to snuggle under my Irish mohair blankie and have a bit of a nap. We were out late last night at a concert - late for us anyhow - and then I got gabbing in chat until after 12! Woke at my usual 5 a.m. of course!

Yardwork is going to have to wait until Monday, I guess, as I have Church and that Annual meeting tomorrow. DH has to check the darn Christmas lights and get them up too. We have a pergola around the well in the middle of the field behind the barn. We string lights out there as there is a power outlet for the well. It looks just great way out there on those December nights!

Have a good weekend, Chickies

Exclamation Gosh, Christmas already?

I can't even think about Thanksgiving yet, you guys are already stringing Christmas lights! Does that tell you anything about me? Anyway, shopped til I dropped today for DD and bad news on my car, won't be ready until after Monday. What am I to do?!? Walk my butt off, I guess!

Everyone have a great weekend!

Sherrie - up here in the Great White North, you have to get those lights up early so you don't freeze your butt off! Pooky and I are just planning ahead. One year we left ours until December, got caught in freezing rain before they were up, the rain froze and our lights were there lying on the ground until spring.
It gets really cold up here!

Wink BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember last Christmas walking around in my T-shirt and jeans, no sweater, no nothing. About 40 degrees is cold here. Sometimes, rarely, we'll get snow, and it melts the same day it falls. I am kind of glad, though, although I hate the summer, too! What can I say, you can't please me. I hate 115 degree heat indexes and I hate frost/freeze warnings. Maybe I should move! Anyway, I wish I had the gumption to get my decorating done early! I envy you!

I just can't get myself into a Christmas frame of mind. I still have flowers in the garden for heaven's sake! Not going to bother with the outdoor lights this year and probably won't do much indoor decorating either. The only entertaining we'll be doing is having #1 daughter and her family over on Xmas Eve.
Woke up this morning with the feeling that I'm getting a cold and have been fighting it all day. Just feel soooooo dragged out. Nevertheless, I had promised an artist friend that I'd go to an art show and I'm glad I went because I found the perfect golden anniversary gift for DH's brother and sister-in-law. It's a beautiful water color painting of two petunias and it's called Intertwined...AND it had a gold frame so I think it's quite an appropriate gift. I don't know how he'll feel about having to lug it with him to Germany next week though.
Then I went to the annual craft fair of the local Spinners and Weavers Gild and they had some really marvelous hand woven and knitted items, plus other tables full of lovely hand made things, all very tempting but quite expensive. After that I dragged my sorry butt to the craft fair held by the local church ladies and bought some hand made doilies with a gold thread in them. Thought I'd include them with the anniversary gift. So glad I don't have to go to this event. I love my in-laws but I think I'm going to enjoy my 10 days home alone more than having to listen to them all yelling at each other in German.
Now it's confession time. I guess with feeling a bit under the weather my defenses were down, but my binge started with three cookies at one craft fair, followed by several more after I got home and has continued the rest of the day as I try to make myself feel better by stuffing my face. Well, I guess we're all allowed one day of insanity but I'm putting the brakes on NOW. Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.

By the way, thanks to all who responded to my post yesterday. Nice to know somebody reads my posts even though I'm usually the last one in here.
Good-night, Chicks.

Well Linda today is a new day.... We all have those little slip ups. But you knew it and now a new beginning. Time to look forward. I think in the fall we start kind of winding down. We've been going like bees all summer. Its a time to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and a time to slow down and maybe reflect a bit.... Then those homey things which we love will kick in... Its a sight I can't believe I really haven't a thing planned today. Will I be bored? HUH????? A whole Sunday and its mine... Lets see what I can do with it.... Have a great one you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Sunday to all!!

Still feeling a little puny, skipped church this morning, but I may go tonite to the evening service, I have been meaning to try it, it is supposed to be more contemporary, we shall see.

Sunny and bright today in East Tennessee, worked in the yard most of theday yesterday, planted bulbs and pulled a truckload of weeds, still have load of leaves, I think DH is going to mulch them today.

Back to work tommorrow, there are many days I wish I could stay at home, I envy those of you that do!

GOt some flylady stuff done ystarday as well, clean bathrooms and our nasty sunroom is now spic and span(that will last 2 days).

Hope everyone has a happy day and a pleasant tommorrow!!!

Default Who Says Sundays Are Quiet!

Whew! Just arrived back from our 8:45 service at 11:10 this morning! We had coffee afterwards, as usual, and folks just stayed and talked and laughed and had a good time. They all wanted to see Hershey's picture - she is one of two canine members of the congregation. We also were talking about winter projects. We have a very small congregation but it is just a wonderful group! Nobody is "Churchy" (and Anglicans can be VERY "Churchy") and everyone is really into pitching in and helping out.

Now I am getting organized for my afternoon Annual Meeting of the Fair Board - an entirely different atmosphere! DH is an associate Director and has decided to plead poor health and stay home. (Methinks there is a game on TV this afternoon.) Anyhow, it will be very boring - reports, elections and general crabbing - followed by a 4:30 beef dinner catered by the UC ladies. I know they have cole slaw so it will be beef and cole slaw for me. I sure hope Kay Dean did not make butter tarts - hers are the only ones I can't resist!

Have a good afternoon, girlies. I am working in my Hershey visit after the meeting - dark or not!

Thumbs down Just another day up on Mt. Laundry!

Not very smart of me, I must say so myself. Instead of overworking my poor old delapidated washer and dryer to death, I decided to pack up Mt. Laundry and truck it all down to that hellhole we affectionately call the laundromat. What a wonderful place to spend a Sunday! Now I know why I hate going there. My wallet is a lot lighter and now I have to put away 6 loads of clothes at one time!! Somebody please kick me!

Now I'll pre-wash some fabric and finish up the baby quilt and start on my new one. I'm so awful, I have all these ideas in my head and NO TIME to sew! Not to mention getting the living room maze cleaned up (my daughter hasn't learned about putting things away after she's done with them!) and cooking dinner for 8 tonight (WHAT WAS I THINKING??????????????) If I live through it, I'll let you all know!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Just another pissy day in paradise. Sorry if I offended anybody but there's no other way to describe our recent weather. It's coming down in torrents again and my yard is already a swamp. I do love this part of the world but REALLY enough is enough!!
I'm alone again today as DH is trying to finish off some contracts before he departs for Germany on Thursday. It's not unusual for him to work through a weekend anyhow. He pretends to complain about it but even on days he doesn't have paying project planned, he's one of these people who always has something to do (Ruth, he'd be a good match for you). For example, every weekend rain or shine he washes his work van and tidies up the interior. He knows nothing about mechanics and leaves that to the pros but he's a stickler for tidiness....unlike yours truly.
Trying to get myself back on track today but indulged in a bacon and egg breakfast with DH this morning. I know that on low carb that's a good thing but on WW it can be tricky. Used up about 10 of my daily point allowance.
I have watered all my house plants and done some laundry. After I leave here I'm planning to do some more work on my Scotland Memories scrapbook and watch a bit of tv in the guest/craft room.
That's all for now. Bye.
