Default Weekend Oct. 20 and 21

Starting us up chickies, coffee's on!

Just buzzing in and out this morning, I am going to the hairdresser for a much needed haircut. Can you say bush woman?? Than it's just a small trip to the local mall for some art supplies and general shopping then home to do some major outdoor work. Dh is going on the roof today to clean the eavestroughs!

Have a good one!

good Morning one and all--at least i think it's morning--there's a lot of fog .

Off to the library in awhile for a few hours of work--sometimes it's pretty quiet and sometimes everyone in the community is there. I enjoy chatting w/patrons and helping find good books to read that suit their interest--what are you all reading????

Me and Miss Rosie (the cat) took our walk down to the creek yesterday after some bad health news about my cousin--needed to send good positive thoughts her way--and then i was able to do some journaling. Am reading, amongs other things,"a women's journey to God" and it's filled w/ amazing things to think and write about. Sometimes i just end up crying and thinking. the author seems to really get it together!!! She has the answers to so many of my questions. Anyways--that's about it for the day. We're off to supper tonight--maybe mexican and then the dreaded wal-mart, though, actually, it's not tooo crowded on saturday night.

My thought for the day is to remember that each day is a gift to be unwrapped and treasured. carol k

Good Morning Friends,

Gonna get me a cup of coffee and straighten up a bit after company last night. Today we're suposed to go couch shopping ?? lets see if DH isn't tired from work and won't go LOLOL.

Ruthie, be careful digging, don't hurt your back.....maybe you should wear your metal bra for support ROFL......

Carol, I love reading spiritual books also. Havent read one in a while though. The last set of books I read was called "Joshua", "Joshua and the City", "Joshua and the Children", etc...you get the picture lol. The author is a retired priest...awesome!! Let me know how your book is when your done.

Pooky, get some hairs cut for me....I havent had my hair cut since June....its getting way to out of control. I need to find a new place local to get it cut but I'm afraid...some hairdressers just go to crazy and when you ask for something in particular they just don't listen...oh well thats why I put it up in a pony tail and just forget about it LOLOL.

Have a wonderfussy day ladies

Love, Eileen (Leens)

Some days I can putter about and never really accomplish anything but today I didn't do too bad. Baked bread in bread machine, got the whole house vacuumed and washed the floors that can be washed. Well, I don't know if you call using the wet Swiffer "washing" them but it did the job. Still haven't dusted though. I looked outside and it wasn't raining so I went in the garden for a while. I have ivy that wants to rule the world starting with my front planters so I had to mount a counter-attack. That led to pulling out the finished Impatience and white allysum. I wound up with two large orange garden bags full.
I was going to start on my Memories of Scotland scrapbook today but I keep procrastinating about it. This isn't like just putting photos in an album and labelling them. You have to be all creative and original and I don't know if I'm quite up to the challenge. LOL
Trying to think if I've ever read anything spiritual (other than bits of the Bible when forced) but the closest I can come is Chicken Soup for the Soul which really didn't do a thing for me. I guess I'm just an old reprobate.
Well, that's about all for now. As usual, as soon as I get on the computer, DH comes around the corner wondering why I'm being so lazy.

Default Happy Weekend!

Hi Everyone!

I haven't checked in all week, I don't think. I've been so busy!

We have been looking for a house to rent. And, I think I've found one! I will tour it again on Thursday and will put down the deposit to move in for December! This move is WELL needed. My girls and I have been staying with my parents since this past June, while my husband is deployed to the North Pole. Well, we were traveling A LOT, until Sept. 11th. Now, we're pretty much sitting still and it's starting to put ants in my pants.

So, DH will be home just before Christmas and I'd like to be moved in, unpacked and have up a Christmas tree before he gets there (the 22nd +/-). Quite the challenge with two little girls!

Ruth, be careful. I agree, maybe you need to get out that metal bra!

Good luck with the hair cut, Pooky. I LOATHE finding new hairdressers.

Carol, have you read the "Seat of the Soul"? I loved it. Very inspirational for me.

Leens, did you find a sofa? Did DH make it out with you?

OK, take care everyone! Have a great rest of the weekend!

Happy Sunday Morning!

We got lots of trenching done at the Church yesterday but there is more to do. I worked just until my shoulder started to hurt and then quit for the day. Came home and to shorten the pants of my new royal pantsuit. Would you believe 7" off an 18W!!!!! I know that even when I get down to a 16P, I'll still be shortening. I need a leg transplant or very high platforms.

We are sort of sad today as Hershey will be leaving to start her "confinement" at Morna's kennel. She will be in the Puppy Suite waiting the arrival. Actually she will only be sleeping there and will be with the family the rest of the time. She is really big this time! I suspect the pups may come before Oct. 31! So we will be petless for a while although I will be visiting and helping in the birth.

Have a super Sunday, Chickies.

Good Morning everyone!

Sorry to hear that Hershey is going for her confinement so soon! How will you ever handle it Ruth? The upside is that there will some really cutie puppies come out of this!

Well, dh decided to lose his mind and got a satellite dish yesterday. I say got because one of his coworkers had an extra dish and receiver and gave it to us! Dh did a LOTof computer work for him so I'd say it's a pretty darn good trade! Both of them are working on putting it up as we speak!

I never did get to the laundry yesterday, the weatherwas so fine I had to get out inot the garden while getting was good. I attempted to split some peonies that were growing in a front bed as I was told by my neighbours that they had never been split. The roots on these were incredible! The people who had lived here before were here for 18 years and the peonies had been in there before that! I swear, I needed a jackhammer to cut through them. Still not finishedwith that bed, I need to work on it slowly as I am finding squirrel stashes of bulb balls (bonus for me, bad for the squirrels!) and I want to put those back in the beds if I can.

So much for my day, I guess enough of my ravings as an amateur gardener!

Pouring cats and dogs today....not Portugese Water Dogs though. Bet they'd enjoy it.
Yesterday I managed to get some gardening done too but just a drop in the bucket. I cut back ivy that was trying to take over my front planters and weeded the planters as I went along.
Not much doing today though.
Having trouble staying OP because of boredom or restlessness or something. Just want to keep nibbling but that won't do at all.
I think I'm discouraged because this morning I compared my measurements to ones I took about a year ago and even though I weigh less, most of the measurements are larger!!! How could I lose 18 pounds and not have it show on the tape measure?

Beautiful day out, we went to Macy's Furniture Gallery and I have my eye on a leather couch and rocker recliner..........but hubby is the type that must search every store just incase....but you know he's right...he always gets good buys and winds up with better stuff.....me, I'm an impulsive buyer....I see it and thats it LOL. So we will keep a searchin...well only for a week or 2 lololol.

Then we went to the duck pond and went for a walk with baby Grace and the pooch Susie......it was sooooooo nice.

Gonna cook dinner now and plan my diet for the week since I've eaten almost an entire Polish Cheesecake this weekend......I bet I gained back the 4 lbs I lost last week LOLOLOL......oh well back to the freakin drawing board.

Love Yah

Happy Sunday evening all!! Took the kids to the circus today and lost my 4 yr old. It was the longest 10 minutes of my life..the police were looking for him..it was a nightmare. Found him safe and sound thank god....I always wondered how people could lose their children, today I found out...he was there one minute and gone the next....it was horribly scary. Came right home after that little episode and promptly went to the garden where I planted 70 bulbs, only 100 more to go. .....well off to shower and bed. Take care all. Remind me to tell you all about my nightmare weekend with my parents visiting(my father was the nightmare) I am just not up to talking about it right now.....Later.
