I'm 5'4.5", weight the last few days has been within a range between 237 and 240, Size varies from 18 to 22.

Most of my pants are 20s and not exactly tight, I also have some 18s that aren't tight, and I have a couple of 22s that are a little tight. Nice example of sizes being different....

I also have some 16s that I can zip and button up, but it doesn't look good at all so I don't wear them, and so they don't count

I know how you feel, I feel that way when I compare my pant size to others of the same height/weight.

But tell me, do you happen to be pear shaped liked me? I am 5'7, and when I was 165 lbs I was a 12/14. But, even with my largish bust (36D), I wore a size 10/12 shirt, sometimes 8/10 shirt (8/10 would have fit better if but for my gut). I also have a butt that's large in proportion to the rest of me, regardless if I'm thin or large, lol.

Everyone's body distributes differently.

Question What size clothing do u wear? And a silly question

Someone's post about wanting to be a certain size in clothing versus seeing a number on a scale got me wondering. I am 133 lbs as of now. I was curious the other day and tried on some jeans a 4,6 and 8 fit. They all fit well enough to be comfortable. I also have some size 11 jeans that fit but a little lose. My sis in law gave me a dress in size 4 and it fits. I can't be a 4 I am 15 lbs heavier than I was in the past, I wore an 8 then. Well anyways how much do u weigh? What size do u wear? It would be great if anyone in the 5'2 around my weight would weigh in on this. Thanks ladies!
Oh and can someone explain how I post pictures, I am not too good with a computer, it's a challenge starting a new thread. I would like to get some opinions on my progress! Thanks

to post pics: when you reply to a post scroll wayyyy down and you'll see "manage attachments" which is where i upload pics to, and then back in the reply box, find the attachment paper clip icon and choose what you want to post

i dont go by sizes because they vary so veryyyy much...i currently wear a size XL-L shirt but i can fit a size 11/13 juniors hoodie...it's snug but that's what i wanted...in jeans i'm guessing i'm maybe a 12(?) but i dont know...brand names vary in size too

for example, i'm currently wearing a size 4/6 yoga pants and it fits just right...i used to wear this brand size 8/10 so i know i lost weight that way but I KNOW there is no way i truly belong in a size 4/6 anything LOL at this weight...but apparently in this brand, i do....which is why i dont go by sizes

I am gonna give the picture thing a shot. Thanks very much.

Isn't great Alaskanlaughter when an article of clothing fits in a smaller size!

I was very curious about the size thing cause my friend works for a clothing company I guess they sell some what expensive dresses and she wants me to pick one out so I have something special to wear when I hit goal.

yup. Brands vary.

But to answer your question I'm about your height. I'm a 16 most of the time but it's a bit loose. I have a 14 that fits but usually 14 is too tight.

Edith sorry you wanted someone your height AND weight

I'm 150 lbs and in an 8/10 in pants and M/L in shirts depending on the brand. 5'4". Looking to get back into a 4/6 and medium in shirts. We'll see.

I'm a 4 in dresses, and a 26 in jeans. The more expensive the brand, the tighter it fits.

I'm 5'4, 160lbs and I'm wearing mediums and larges on top depending on the brand/cut, sometimes an XL if it's a juniors' sized top and it's cut small. I'm a loose 12/13 on the bottom, I haven't really tried 10s or 11s yet but I'm sure I could find some that fit. If we go by letter sizes I'm usually a large on the bottom, but I have sweatpants in a medium that fit.

I have given up trying to compare weight to sizes. The vanity sizes in the US is really stupid, I wish they came up with something simple like men's sizes. There was one time when I went shopping for new clothes for my new college career and I cried when I couldn't fit into ANY junior clothing, and I was only 135lbs. An XL couldn't fit me, and I was a size 6 at the time. I hate it when a size 8 in one store is a size 14 in another, it's ridiculous.

Also, from personal experience, when I started losing weight, I went from a size 16 at 170 lbs to a size 8 at 150 lbs. However, the last time I was a size 8 was when I was at 140 lbs. So I really don't think that there is an accurate weight=size at all. The whole muscle building and fat losing kind of messes up figuring out what weight equals what size.

I have read somewhere that 10lbs = 1 size reduction. I think that's the best formula that I have read.

I'm currently wearing a size 22 in pants and 1x-2x in tops, depending on brands and materials etc.
