I had a vanity sizing issue at Costco yesterday. I bought a dress, size 8, thinking it may be a tad bit too small... I got home and tried it on, it was HUGE! I went and exchanged it to size 6, and 6 is too big. I need to get it in 4. -- Even though being size 4 sounds flattering but there is no way in h3ll that a woman who is still 7 pounds overweight wears size 4.

I'm the same. I'm still considered overweight and have some 4's that I can wear. I also have a pair of 6's that I can just barely button +huge muffin top. Go figure! :dizzy: mostly, though, I seem to be between 4-6.

Target oversizes for everyone. My toddler is 26 months old and a solid 2T everywhere except at Target. He's wearing a 12-18 month target onesie to bed right now and the 24 month t-shirts I got at target are a little too baggy. I couldn't even call it vanity sizing since he is 2 and could care less what I put on him.

I agree. Target sizes are insanely large no matter what department you shop in.

I've been wearing kids sizes for years now, including shirts. In kids t-shirts I'm usually a medium (size 8 or sometimes 10) but I have a t-shirt from Target that is a kid's size 4 and it fits.

Shopping is hard apparently at any size. I choose to look on the bright side.... I may one day actually wear a size 6 which may really be an old size 12 but I will happily wear my pants wrong side out so the tag will show!

Yes, it is a bit ridiculous that my still technically overweight body is sitting here in size 6 capri pants. But, like scarletmeshell says, I'm still pretty damn happy to be wearing them again.

I didn't read the whole thread, but just today I got amazed at how clothes sizing is different! I do not shop at retail stores. I'm a thrift/yard sale kind of girl :) today when I was out I found a bunch of clothes for .25 ea so I started digging! I normally don't look at sizes, instead I hold them up and see if I think they'll fit and if I do, I get them (for a quarter, I'm not too worried about it lol).

Well- of all the clothes I got, I got 3 pairs of shorts. I tried them on and then after looked at the sizes:

Pair 1- Hollister size 1- fit but thighs were snug.
Pair 2- grane (crane?) size 7- huge on me.
Pair 3- Miley Cyrus- size 9- fit but super tight and did not look good at all.

The majority of my bottoms are size 3 and 5. Maybe one day I'll go try clothes on in a normal store and see what size I am according to them. I have no idea if the clothes I usually get are vanity sized, 5 years old, a month old, etc. all I know is I'm obsessed with clothes now and cheap is the only way to feed the addiction lol
