Default Ingrown hairs...?

So, i have some trouble with ingrown hairs both on my thighs/legs, and in that "special area." The "special area" usually end up as large, painful pimple like bumps, some times with icky pus and what not. The ones on my thighs (I think they are caused by chaffing) are small little black bumps and when popped, look like black little seeds. Any help?

Don't press ahrd with a dulling razor. Shave with a sharp razor with the grain rather than against. And make sure you have enough shaving gel/cream on there.

That's all I can think of.

Scrub real good before shaving to help get all the dead skin off, it might help.
Also they have a gel in the shaving area (at wal-marts at least) it's to help prevent shaving bumps. I belive it's called Bikini-zone or something like that.

This may not be an answer you'll like but I suggest growing out your hair a bit and use a scrub/exfoliate where you can. After a while go and get waxed - or do it at home (but for private areas always have a professional do it!) It exfoliates even more and it leaves your skin silky-smooth. Plus you'll never have a problem with ingrown hairs ever again.

ETA: If you're like me...Don't be shy about approaching them (I was at first.) Its their job and they have seen people of all shapes and sizes. If they're professional they would do all they can to put you at ease.

The ingrown hairs on my thighs responded really well to clay face masks. Not ALL of them, but most of them.

As for the lady parts, I usually exfoliate, then shave, then when I get out put on pure aloe and some baby powder. It's stopped all my problems thus far.

Dry skin brushing helps a lot. I tend to get ingrown hairs on the outside of one calf in one spot. Why? Who knows. But regular brushing takes care of it.

There's a product called Bikini Zone that's great for your bikini area - you have to use it several times a day after you shave but this is easier and less bothersome than it sounds and it makes a WORLD of difference.

Monistat Soothing Care anti chafing gel is a wonder product. It's good anyplace you have chafing issues. I use it daily and have recommended it to so many people. It's great for any chafing - thighs, bra, whatever.
