I got all of mine at Goodwill. Salvation Army, Savers and Consignment Shops.

Ross, TJ Max, and Marshalls are all places that have reasonable pricing.

My favorite place now are garage sales. It is end of the season, and people are getting rid of everything for cheap. The past 2 weekends, I have been paying $1 each for jeans/capris/shorts/sweaters/skirts/shirts. Some even 50 cents. The other great places are thrift stores. Savers, Goodwill, Unique, Salvation Army. Find out when they have half price day, or half price certain color tag days. I started at a size 20, now I am a 14/16. My whole wardrobe is from garage sales/thrift, and all brand/designer names. Just picked up a pair of Torrid capris for $2, which is the most I spent on one item. You can find a good deal on Ebay, but shipping costs will be a lot, and you will find out you are better off going to the thrift store, paying $3 for a pair of jeans/shirt instead. Also you can see them in person for any defects/rips/stains etc. Also check Craigslist! I do not like paying a lot of money for transistional clothing, especially if I will only be wearing them for a month or 2. Good luck!

look on google.com and search thrift store with your zip code.. if you have donation dumpsters anywhere close than you will have a thrift store close by.

New York City has lots of places to buy inexpensive clothes. I don't know about the rest of New York.

Yes, if you're in NYC I could give you a number of places to look but I really can't say for anywhere else in the state.

Check out ebay, though, you really can get some great deals there. Ditto for Old Navy online. Their clothes aren't the best quality but they'll get you buy when you're in between sizes (trust me I bought a lot from them!!).

ETA if you sign up for old navy's newsletter you can get $10 off of an order of $50.

You could check local thrift stores and Craigslist even. Also, many towns are now setting up clothing swaps. Why not check to see if your town has one.
