Default Considering lipo...

Hi ladies.

So my New Year's resolution last year was to get over my weigh loss stall, and start losing weight again. It's worked. I've been on straight bootcamps for the past 7 months, and with my regimented eating, I am close to goal weight. Well actually, my initial goal was 110lbs, but I may be adjusting to 105lbs.

I also made a promise to myself that I would work hard ALL year of 2011 to achieve the very most I could by working out and eating well. And if at the end of the year, I was still dissatisfied with certain body parts, I would allow myself to get laser liposuction (look up: SmartLipo or Vaser Lipo).

Even though my body has transformed nicely, there are still areas that concern me greatly (namely my arms). I dislike my stomach as well, but I haven't decided for sure if I'll lipo that area as well.

I've always just wanted to look decent naked. I look great in clothes, but that's not what I was looking for. I just feel like the laser lipo will be the end of a VERY long weight-loss journey for me (I started losing weight about 3 years ago, but it's been the past 7 months that I've worked the hardest).

I'm not looking for perfection at all. My arms have always been unnaturally big for my frame, and now that my frame is getting smaller, my arms are bothering me even more. I've always hated my stomach, but with losing weight, it's slowly getting a little better. Sigh.

Have any of you considered cosmetic surgery?

Yes, but I've never been able to go through with it.

This time, however, I am very very seriously considering Exilis (as in, I have an appointment). I think I will probably do this.

It's a non-intrusive RF procedure and it seems to provide modest but real results (both in skin tightening and fat reduction). There are trade-offs between all the approaches, but I encourage you to look into this if it is available in your area.

Have you had your bodyfat% read by a professional? If so, what is your bodyfat % right now? The scale may say one thing, but if you're at or over 30% body fat you're not healthy--by your picture you don't look to be anywhere near 30% body fat, but if you're still between 20% and 25% you might be able to achieve the 'look' you want by attempting a lifestyle aimed more at body recomposition rather than straight-up weight loss. This will give you a lean look all around rather than just in certain spots, meaning you might grow to love both your arms AND tummy, and it'll be easier on your wallet!

I have seriously considered lipo after my weight loss journey is done. I hate the bat wings on my arms and I hate my fat upper legs. Don't know if I will ever be able to afford it but would seriously consider it if I could.

Thanks for the feedback!
Actually, this was sort of my point...I do a LOT of strength training, and my body recomp has been fantastic for the most part. But due to my genetic structure, I've ALWAYS had large arms, so that issue will probably never go away for me, even with my diet and exercise regime.
My trainer thinks that my body fat percentage is probably 20%, but I have no idea really.
But as for my stomach, I believe in the end that I may not get lipo on my tummy as I believe this area WILL improve the further I go into my training in the coming years.

Cheers!

Thanks for all the other replies too ladies! Glad to know I'm not QUITE alone

This is one of my biggest concerns! After losing weight, is your skin and body worn out from being big?

It worries me that I wont be happy, even when I've lost the weight..

I had body jet lipo done on my abdomen in Nov 2010 and again in Jan 2011 and it was the best decision I have ever made! Even at my thinnest I have such a belly and even though my stomach is not flat and I have loose skin, the fat that has been removed is amazing. A tummy tuck will be in the future. You should check out the body jet lipo too. It worked better for my area versus the smart lipo. Best of luck, I say go for it!
