My views on skinny jeans are if you like them then rock them!! They don't look good on me now, but once I lose a few more lbs I'm getting a pair. They look great with heels and tucked into boots. I think a big part of it is confidence too, if you think or KNOW you look good you'll look good to others aswell :D

Skinny jeans don't do skinny girls justice. Have you seen Beyonce or Kim Kardashian in skinny jeans? You betta work! http://x68.xanga.com/29af73fb4273524...z196757798.jpg http://www.skinnyvscurvy.com/wp-cont...vy-beyonce.jpg |
I wear skinny jeans...and by society's standards I probably "shouldn't." I saw this HORRIBLE group on facebook about people who shouldn't wear skinny jeans. I reported them for being discriminatory and offensive... though I doubt anything will happen. Oh, free speech. But, being up in New England where is rains ALL THE TIME, skinny jeans are great to wear in my rainboots because I always end up with the bottoms of my pants wet and then half my calf is wet thanks to capillary action. haha.

Just to update this old thread I started, haha. I finally broke down and bought skinny jeans from Jean Machine. I tried on at least 10 pairs of jeans. I still don't know when I'm going to wear them. They were friggin' expensive, though. They're size 30, which translates to a size 10? Oh, that depresses me a little bit.
I'm more Beyonce than Jennifer Connelly in the above pics. |
I wear skinny jeans. Those are the only type of jeans i wear. I think I look fine in them. I know people who are way larger than me who wear them, and basically all kids my age, no matter what size, have taken a liking to wearing them. :D

I ended up getting a pair, not from JCrew. I got DKNY. The vertical weave of the fabric helps elongate them somewhat, but mine still ought to have more wrinkles on the calves than they do.
You know what they remind me of? My riding pants used to fit like this. All they need are a sort of diamond-shaped suede patch on the inside of the knees & lower thighs. But they look good with a longer sweater or top. It's a bit like the leggings with long lean sweater thing. |
I wear skinny jeans, but I have noticed with stretch fabrics, they don't look that skinny by the end of the day. I remember when I was a teen (in the 80s), tapered jeans were all the rage. Skinny jeans remind me of the jeans of my teenage years.

I hate those things and would never wear them. I am tired of seeing so many skinny people and their butt cracks, ugh! Twice at the mall this week a girl and a guy...they worked at one of the stores and was in the window bending over..thanks for the view! Oh and then at the portrait studio...really don't like seeing anyone's crack or thong string. They both looked like they were wearing a size or two too small. No thank you!

Ugh, this is a trend that I wish would just go away! I can't find any jeans anymore because they're all cut weird. I never had that problem when I was heavier, lol!

I'm six feet tall and my legs are still okay (even tho' I'm the weight you see on my ticker!) The skinny jeans are pretty flattering when I wear a long shirt over them to cover my hips and tush.
It kinda drives me crazy that a certain type of jean is "in" and the others are "out." Women's body types are so varied. |
I wear them, even though I'm not the ideal candidate for the look hah Luckily even though I'm heavy my weight is evenly distributed so I look like I weigh less, so I don't feel totally uncomfortable wearing these. I bought them because when I went pant shopping, I felt like looser fit pants made me look even bigger than I am. *shrug* It could just be mental but my boyfriend likes me in skinny jeans. heh

I have a coworker who is around 250+ lbs, but she is the fiercest dresser in the department! Hair, makeup, nails always done. Anyway, she works it in skinny jeans and flats and I think she looks gorgeous. It just takes confidence, I think. Do it!!
