I didn't like them until I tried a pair on at White House Black Market with a killer pair of snow leopard print heels :) Of course I had to buy them both!

I am about your same size (poster) and I LOVE skinny jeans. I have the hardest time finding good jeans, but skinnies are amazing. I have a big butt but also big boobs, so I guess it does even out. I am a size 8/10 5'5'' and I wear them with boots or heels and I really like them.

I love skinny jeans and wear them myself, even at size 16, tucked into boots! You can totally rock the style, and of course, wearing what makes you feel confident is part of the look too!!

They're cute if you get the right wash and cut. So far I have a problem finding jeans that don't fall off me, give me camel toe, or look too painted on.
I have some decent LEI skinny jeans that are in a dark wash that I like. I heart Kohls. |
Interesting question...I happen to work at Old Navy...we cannot seem to keep enough skinny jeans in stock. I have seen all people all sizes buying them and wearing them. Some look really good in them, and some do not, its a fact of life with any clothing item. I say, try them on and see what you think, if you feel comfortable in them...FLAUNT IT....if you don't feel comfortable then exchange them out. Odds are you probably have the diva skinny jeans...my only advise is make sure you have a long enough tee on, because the divas are the low rise and with some people if you bend over the whole world sees your undies... thats my advise and suggestions... Hope it helped

Do people who buy Old Navy jeans tend to be one size bigger than they actually are, due to vanity sizing? And one general question, for people who buy skinny jeans, do you have to go one size up? |
It really depends. I wear the flirt style in the boot cut. The dark washes I wear an 18, which is about everywhere I go...however in the lighter washes I can't fit into a 20...it is very strange and I think it has something to do with the cut and style, and the color. In the sweethearts I wear a 16, and I am not sure with the diva, I don't like the low rise, not yet, once I reach my goal that might change... :)
I suggest to all my customers that they try on the jeans before they leave the store just to make sure the size fits right... but all in all, even before I stated working there I shopped there all the time, the jeans seem to fit me better there than other places. |
Skinny jeans are the devil.
Seriously, though, Gap makes a decent pair of dark wash skinny jeans that look OK on me in size 10. And, for the person who mentioned JCrew? Those clothes actually are cut much more for a straight body. I fit in JCrew stuff really well in my early 20s. Not so much once I had some curves. |
My personal opinion is that they are fine if the person wearing them looks good in them. But IMHO, not too many people do. I think they are best on really tall people with super long legs.
They are not for me though - I don't like the sausage effect (ie. too snug) and I prefer jeans with a looser trouser. |

I <3 skinny jeans (or as I call mine...my skinny fat jeans lol). I didn't think I would find any that fit or look good on me, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them at Torrid. I bought a pair and I actually really like them. They are perfect for wearing with boots ! Definitely give them a try.

I've never worn skinnies, but I love straights <3
I think that you defo have the right shape to pull it off! Slim with a little curve!! <3 |
I have a pair, and I love them with skyhigh heels. I wear 'em like I wear leggings - with a longer top, so my butt isn't just like "HI! I'm HERE!" I bought a pair in my regular jeans size, but they have the 2% spandex that a lot of jeans seem to have now, and I tried on several pairs before I found a pair that I really liked. I think anyone can wear them, provided they're a well-fitting size, and worn with lots of confidence!

I wouldn't wear them right now, at my size. Maybe if I lost 50 pounds. I have never liked "bell bottom" or the flaired jeans. I usually go for a streight leg jean, but skinny jeans and the 80's "tights" sort of jeans are not my thing. I also am very tall and would not wear high heels-- I work in a fast paced environment, with hard floors and high heels are dangerous. I think the tight jeans with the uggs-type boots are really cute, but I am 50, and that is a kind of "Hanna Montana" look. Obviously, you should always wear tighter jeans if you want to tuck them in boots.
