Default Mederma Lotion for Stretch Marks?

Hey everybody! I just bought Mederma lotion for stretch marks at Target (very expensive! I think I paid $40). It was very expensive, but I'm feeling a little desperate because my stretch marks annoy me and they only get worse as I lose more weight of course.

Any one have any success with this?

I'll keep you updated on how it works!

I've tried it. It doesn't work at all. It definitely won't make your scars disappear, at the most expect it them to soften a little.

Sorry!

Hi,
I would not expect dramatic results with the Mederma. Also, it has to be applied daily over a continuous time period to show results. I have tried it for stretch marks but tend to not be too regular in using it. I have not noticed very dramatic results. Also, supposedly, the newer the stretchmarks are, the better it will work. If you have had them for years it is less effective.

I did get it off Ebay and was able to get it a bit cheaper than just buying from a regular store.

I just started using Nivea Essentially Enriched just for my everyday, all over lotion, it has improved my skin in tons of ways. It says its for dry skin, which I do not have, but I wanted something to make me shine a bit. My skin is more soft and supple, and scars from acne around my chest are disappearing. A welcome side effect. And its only 8 bucks a bottle. (which goes a lil too fast on my big body) Any who, I say return that stuff, get your money back and pamper your skin. Because I'm willing to bet that most ppl will tell you that Maderma and other topical scar treatments do not work like we want them to. And you have to keep applying Maderma through out the day. Its too much for too little a return.

Hey girls...

I've been using Mederma for several days now....morning and night, just like the directions say! It's kind of time consuming I must admit and the smell is pretty intense (the second ingredient is some kind of onion extract I think? but it doesn't necessarily smell like onion).

So what I've noticed so far is that it's a really great moisturizer and I think it improves my skin texture. According to the bottle you should see results in 4 weeks. I understand that this lotion is not going to GET RID of my stretch marks, nothing can do that. But so far I'm left silky smooth!

I'll update if I see any more results.

You said your stretch marks are getting worse with the more weight you lose? Do you mean that the skin is just sagging more and it they are more obvious because your fat isn't stretching them out? If so, I recommend reading this article, it is very long, but hopeful. Keep pressing forward!!

And just like Sarah said, start pampering your skin! You still have weight left to lose, so start prepping the skin for recovery now!! Here's some tips from eHow

If your skin is more taut/tight, then the stretch marks won't be as much of a nuisance.

I've used Bio Oil in the past and it worked pretty well for me. It helped a lot (within just a couple of days I saw a change) for the red marks, but not so much for the already healed silvery ones. You can find it at most drug stores in the US and at Boots in the UK. Also, I learned to really enjoy the smell of it

ETA: The first time I lost weight from 162-140 my stretch marks literally ran all the way from my hips to my knees in the back and FRONT of my thighs. The marks -only- showed up after my weight loss. It was terribly disheartening. I couldn't wear shorts the entire summer unless they went to my knee. But Bio Oil really helped. ...the end

Thanks for the recommendation Eskinomad! A similar thing happened to me, my stretch marks seem to just really stand out now that I've lost weight.
