Look into clothing swaps in your area - there are some LiveJournal groups (plus size and non) that have clothing swaps, seasonally.
Imagine 40 women, standing around in various states of undress, trying on clothes from piles by size and commenting on each other.
It was incredibly fun, plus I got some great stuff and cleaned some things out of my closet at the same time.
