Ok...I never had a problem with this before losing weight. I'm 5'9" tall, and when I was a size 10+ I could find pants in "long" lengths. Well, it seems as though nobody size 6 or under is now allowed to be tall. I'm wearing high-waters here, people....and I can't find ANY place that has pants in a long length!
Anyone else have this problem? Where can I find pants for a tall person?
I know what you mean about a smaller size not being allowed to be tall. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, and apparently nobody with a big butt (size 18/20 or larger) is allowed to be tall, either! And forget it on the occasions where I have had to buy in the extended sizes, (16W, 18W etc). Those are all even shorter than they are in the "regular" department.
And don't even get me started on the whole "tall" sizes thing. I just need my pants to be longer, I don't need a longer rise which causes the waistband to be up under my boobs!
I'm with you, Windchime!!! Especially on the rise of the pants...anymore they're either up to your boobs or so short you could be cited for indecent exposure for sitting down. What's the purpose of a 2 inch long zipper anyway? NOTHING!
"Talls" are different from "longer inseam", in my experience. Sometimes "Talls" are OK, but like I mentioned above, I don't want the tall rise that seems to come with the description "tall". I just want the length to be longer so I'm not wearing floodwater pants!
I am wearing a pair of "tall" slacks today. I have the waistband folded over so it won't be way up past my belly button. Seriously.
I am 5" 11" and have a problem with needing a longer inseam. Even if I find tall or long sizes, some (like Levi's) are not long enough. I have found ordering them from Land's End or L.L. Bean is good because they have a variety of styles and lengths and price is not too bad.
In stores, I have good luck with Tommy Hilfiger (love the Boyfriend style!) though these definitely can be pricey.
I love Love LOVE my Silvers. I usually pick them up in the 37 inseam. The only other pants I have found that fit great and come in the 37 inseam are from Alloy.com and Delias.com. Love their sites!
I too dislike the 'tall' sizing. I have a short torso and am all legs so I definately need to see the inseam length. I carry a tape measure just so I can check the inseam on the 'talls'. They usually are 34 inseam, in my case capris!
I'm a shorty and I have biiig thighs - but I found that the Buckle is one of the ONLY stores that sells jeans that REALLY fit me (and trust me, I've tried almost EVERYWHERE) And I know they sell longer lengths, definitely.
Also, might not be your style but I know someone VERY, VERY tall and ALL legs (she's 6'3 or so) and she gets a lot of her pants from REI It's a lot more outdoorsy and organic-y and stuff, but cute and long!
