I don't shop for clothes very often. I think a big part of it was that I was always so unhappy because most of what I tried on...didn't look so hot on me and it was discouraging. It was this way for most of my life.
Pretty much...I go seriously clothes shopping *maybe* once or twice a year, with the exception of buying a shirt or something here or there throughout the rest of the time. I went to Kohls today and I just went crazy. I found so much stuff I liked! And even better, it was all on sale...everything was like $13-15. So I carried bucket loads of stuff in to the dressing room and found that...*gasp* not just one or two things fit me well and looked good...but most of it did! Some of it was even too big for me and I had to get smaller sizes. That's one thing that bothers me...finding a shirt that looks great and fits well...but it's too long. Out of habit, I grab Larges automatically, but I left the store with quite a few mediums too! I had a great shopping day! I can't wait to continue to see improvements as I lose more! It was exciting.
aww that's great news! I think a lot of us don't go shopping for fear of which size we might (or might not) fit in and it's always so good when you fit in a smaller size thatn you expected to be able to wear! WELL DONE
jhiniko, I bet you look awesome in the new duds! I am starting to enjoy shopping again too! Ain't it grand? What a nice gift you have given yourself for the holidays!
Yes, I know about the grabbing the wrong sizes. The first time I went shopping (maybe a month ago) I grabbed an XL off a rack at B. Republic. My friends was like, "why are you putting on that big thing?" Seriously, it is habit to grab the biggest size there.

I had been complaining about not being able to find clothes, but when I finally broke down and went to a big mall about an hour away from where I live, I found more that I liked. I'm sure the ladies in the dressing room hated me because I don't know what size I am anymore. Sometimes I would have to try on three sizes to find the right one. But now that I have some clothes that fit my body, what a feeling! Now I want to shop all the time! I'm really picky, but I want my clothes to look great- no more settling.
My issue with sizes right now is that as sizing has changed... I really need pants in 1/2 instead of a 3/4 but I cannot believe that that is my size! I fear even if it is my size for a few moments.... there is NO WAY that will be my size for the long term. So... I am buying 3s and 4s and some pants fit ok but I could really use less material in others. Shirts.. medium- no prob. not larges or xl anymore.
