Default Sizing accurately???

The other day, I ordered a bunch of clothes from Old Navy, and according to their size charts, I should be a size 18.

Received all the clothes, and all of the pants are too big!!! EVERY LAST PAIR.

I hate having to send them back (shipping and handling), but they are too big.

Is anyone else running into sizing troubles?

I guess this is one of the pros of actually going to the store instead of ordering online, but one of the primary reasons I order online is because it's hard to find tall lengths in stores.

You can return them in-store, even if you ordered them online. - I do that at several stores. Just bring in the invoice with the pants.

I have no idea what size I need either. Right now I have on a pair of 14's from ON that I found in my closet.- I have a pair of size 16 Seven jeans that are falling off of me, (SERIOUSLY, I have to wear DH's belt to hold them up) but the 14's are a little too tight. - I'm trying to stretch them out before I leave the house.

Old Navy has insane size differences....if the item is carried in store, you should be able to return it in store. If it isn't, just call Old Navy Customer Care and say that you want to return it. They will give you a pre-paid mailing label meaning it's free to return.

I really dislike Old Navy's pants...they always fit funny. I ordered a pair of maternity pants and they were like a tent! huge!

i've had to return things to old navy that i ordered online and they pay the shipping and handling. you can return in store as well though. you could return in store, try on jeans to find the right size, then order them online so that you can get talls.

Old Navy is super weird about their sizing. While in most skirts and pants I'm a size 16, I went shopping over there and ended up buying a size 14 in everything. I'm glad I didn't order it from online because I would have ended up with everything being too big!

I've found that Old Navy pants tend to fit bigger than the sizing chart suggests (I'm also an online shopper.) I've also had the problem of buying jeans that fit in the store, then after I wear them for a day, they get so stretched out that they're falling off of me. I have a pair of ON jeans right now and after I wash them and put them in the dryer they're snug, but after literally half an hour of walking, they're sliding down and threatening to expose me to the world.

I love Old Navy's shirts and skirts, but I think it's time for me to give up on their stupid jeans.

rubby - buy a smaller size and only wash in cold water/hang to dry.

I had to give up on Old Navy pants. Worst. Gaping. At the back of the waist. Ever.

I went to Old Navy and tried on some jeans. I think I'm going to have to give up on those also. They made me look like I have no butt at all.

Arrrrrgh. Buying clothes is hard!

If you leave out the weird sizing, Old Navy jeans are the ones that fit me best!

I'm long-legged and short-torsoed so almost all other tall jeans really aren't tall enough.

True, I'll give em credit for accommidating us long legged gals. My only issue with them has been how my butt looks. And in some, there seems to be too much fabric around the waist. Like, the material is too thick or something. I dont know, just very unflattering. Sometimes I feel like I have a front butt when wearing them.
