Just a note of caution - if you are thinking of going for laser, please please do your homework first and make sure you go somewhere reputable.

I paid a whole lot of cash for laser treatment over a long period of time. One day, it all went wrong and my face got burned, the burn got infected and it wasn't pretty. I have been left with a permanent scar and had to have scar treatment over a period of months to reduce its size. The scar is the only thing that has been "permanent" about the experience - once I stopped getting the treatment done, the hair all came back. I now get it waxed and find less hair grows in each time.

I appreciate I have just had a really bad experience so don't want to put anyone off going for this option - just choose carefully!

I second this post. I had a bad experience going to a place in a mall, and paid a lot of money, and got horrible service and horrible results. Luckily no scars for me, but the hair just grew back within a year.

I also had a terrible experience with getting my eyebrows waxed at a salon -- the wax they used was infected, and I ended up with a very nasty infection all around my eyebrows that to this day I still have problems with.

I now do all of my waxing and plucking at home -- it's cheap and safe! Be safe ladies, no matter how badly you want to get rid of that hair. I recommend going to a dermatologist to have any permanent treatments done.

Wax! It takes only 5min and easy to do myself. I have had bad experiences however with it.. one was using those plastic strips pre-loaded with wax and the other using hot sugar wax with cloth strips. Both really painful and messy! Now I like this product that you heat in the microwave but it hardens on your skin so you don't need cloth strips. Great!

Another vote for electrolysis - I had 2 years of weekly/biweekly treatments over my face (chin, lip, sideburns - I was hairy!) and that was 5 years ago and I'm still really happy. One of the best side effects was that my acne cleared up - turned out a lot of my "pimples" were really little infected bumps/ingrown hairs from all my plucking. Once I stopped plucking and my electrologist eliminated the hair, I was good.

I didn't get my eyebrows done, though, because I'm blond and they never bothered me that much. Now, I get them threaded every 6 weeks or so. LOVE! It's quick, about as painful as waxing, but IMO much more gentle on your skin (no burn to deal with). And I found a place that's only $7 - can't beat that with a stick!

I'm a cosmetologist so I have access to all the wax I want in the salon! I'm a waxer! LOL... if i notice a few stray ones here and there I'll pluck them

Do you ever have any problems with it growing back thicker/faster?

As a former barber I learned in barber school this is an old myth.

How this story first got started is that when you are young and the hair is brand new and never been cut the end of the hair is pointed and looks finer.

And when you shave it the end is now square so it gives the appearance of being thicker.

And as far as growing in faster, the rules are the same as your head. If you are healthy and the hair folicles are getting the right nutrients they grow back the fastest and when we are young normally our hair grows fast and slows down as we get older.

i have facial hair and use an epilator. epilators rip the hair out like tweezers. i don't think epilators are for everyone. even i go into some mild shock when i use it on my upper lip.
sometimes i can't complete it and i have these little facial hair razors i got in walmart to finish the job. i like them because the exfoliate too. i also use them on my brows when i get tired of plucking.
