Default Tall People Pants

Ok...I never had a problem with this before losing weight. I'm 5'9" tall, and when I was a size 10+ I could find pants in "long" lengths. Well, it seems as though nobody size 6 or under is now allowed to be tall. I'm wearing high-waters here, people....and I can't find ANY place that has pants in a long length!

Anyone else have this problem? Where can I find pants for a tall person?

The Gap, Eddie Bauer and Old Navy all have long length pants. The problem is that often they don't stock long lengths in the stores. What I do is go into the store and try on my size, then order the long length online. If the pants don't fit right, you can return them to the store. I know at Eddie Bauer, you can order at the store and get free shipping.

Victoria Secret also sells some long lengths.

Well, we've got an Old Navy around here, so I'll try what you've suggested! Thanks a million!!

Have you tried NY & Co? They usually have longs/talls. If you can't find them in the store then you can usually find them online.

I think a lot of my problem, now that I'm considering it at length, is that I'm not sure WHERE to shop. My options were severely limited before losing weight, and they're more open now. I still just feel weird walking into stores that offer little to no plus sized clothing...like people can tell I shouldn't be there.

Maybe if I get over THAT, I'll have better luck, right?

Hi Mindi,
I love my new jeans from The Gap - they carry a 'long' version (probably of all their jeans styles) and I am very in 34" inseam jeans - they go very nicely with my high heel boots.
I am exactly the same height as you are - in the middle between 5'8" and 5'9" (although I would like to get remeasured) and ideally, I would like to be able to find 33" inseam jeans to go with lower heel shoes/sneakers etc. But for higher heels, I love the 34" inseam length.

I also have dress pants from Cleo - I think it's a Canadian store only but they do have a website. I don't know how comfortable you feel aobut ordering online - I have two pairs of one of their pants style and love those - also perfectly good with high heels.

I'm always thinking of shopping online, Tomato...but the thought of ordering something I haven't physically tried on worries me...things just fit so differently from brand to brand and style to style....

Just chiming in to include JcPenney. Both in store (jeans and khakis) and online. Of course, their online selection's much better!

Good luck!

I'm buying pants now at JC Penney, and can't find any above "average" length in a size I need. But like others have said...if I can find the fit in the store I can maybe order the right length online...

Excuse to go shopping! Yay!

I am 5'11 and need a 35" inseam. Silvers are the only jeans that I will buy. Do you live around a Maurices? That's where I always get mine, but I think they also have them at The Buckle. They also have an online store you can check out, silversjeans.com. I hope this helps, they are a life saver for me, and they last a long time too! Good luck!

Im 5'8" but Im pretty much all legs I buy men's jeans so I can get the length I want. It's easier for me to find jeans that dont stretch in the men's dept. I hate hate hate stretchy jeans!! For me, they are perfect! I can always find something.

I'm 5'10" and suffer the same irritation. The snow pants in a large fit my legs but too big elsewhere, got a med and they are floods! Just for dog walking so I guess it doesn't matter much.

I just purchased 2 new pairs of jeans, both silver brand as mentioned by Steph.
