Brenda -- I bet also that if you wouldn't have kept up this exercise in the last year 2 years, you would have been quite insecure about rollerskating with your son's school... One great advantage of exercise is that it give you confidence in trying new sports...

But many people reading this just throw up their hands and say "I can never do that" and go back to their sedentary lifestyle. If only the gov't had put in a few words about "working up to" a goal of 60-90 minutes. Sigh. Just a pet peeve of mine.
I'm a maintainer wanna be, still have a long way to go in my weight loss journey.

Exercise has been the biggest challenge for me, and it was while looking for support on this very topic that I found 3FC.

The biggest thing for me to realise is that the 90 minutes doesn't need to all be in one go!!! I walk half an hour in the morning on the way to the pool, do 3/4 to an hour in the pool, and then at lunch do a quick gym routine, or go for a walk (I am blessed to have a gym at work). I would find it hard to slot in 90 minute blocks every day, but three blocks of 30 minutes is a lot easier.

I've been doing this four weeks now, and there isn't a day that I haven't had 90 minutes of some sort of activity. It has taken a lot of planning, and on a Sunday I sit with my diary and plan exactly when I am going to do my sessions. I log this with the gym instructor at work, and he keeps an eye on me.

The big mistake I have made in the past is working on my eating, but not activity. This time I want to make it to maintenance, I don't want to almost get to goal then put the weight straight back on again.
