We are a pretty small group...

Wednesday morning, weight down, almost to that 10 pound off mark (again). The extra pets are gone and our home is pretty much back to normal. And I slept better than I have for many nights.

S-good 7 hours
E-walk the dogs after dinner, weather permitting. We're expecting showers for several days, but what with this being the desert and all, I doubt it will amount to much. We're still planning on golf Saturday
B-debating on some cheesy bread this morning, otherwise it'd be a protein bar
L-leftover pasta with rage sauce from last night (interesting dish, not what I expected at all)
D-chicken something or other

Birchie - I know what you mean about mindset, I have noticed very different feels at different times between the threads. I remember at one point the combined thread felt very much like a challenge to lose five pounds in xxx days, and you and I both didn't feel as involved in it. We had a lot more people active at the time too, I think. I think that right now the two chats are more similar than different, though. We'll give it a try and see how it goes. :)

Jay - this sentence spoke to me: "I find I can no longer sustain anxiety or tension over losing weight. On some level it's not worth it to me and seems counterproductive." I've come to the same place, and it has been really hard to get here. The meditation has been a huge part of this. I've been doing it now for do still play your words telling me that the point of meditation is to not do anything in my head when I get distracted and think that I'm not trying hard enough.

Dagmar - :D No peanut butter on it, check. The spot on the table I need to clean up isn't one I did, it was on it when I got it. It was my grandmother's side table, I got it along with her fancy and lamp. It used to be in her formal living room, and she would sit and watch people walk by through the window. I'm sure that the water ring came from my grandfather - after she died he would sit there, and he drank a lot of diet soda in icy cups. I use it for my meditation and as a reading chair now.

Allison - the extra pets probably interfered with the sleepy sleep. Glad you got some rest last night.

Alice - I do like PB2 in a smoothie. I don't have any good recipes anymore though.

64 days in a row of headspace. Weight mostly unchanged. I did buy three pairs of new pants last night. I've been wearing my lands end pants for two years, and decided I needed o give in and buy new pants. I'd been waiting forever thinking I would do it when I lost back to where I wanted to be. I decided to go ahead and buy them, and to be okay with it. I got them at an outlet - they are pull on, super stretch fabric. I'm happy with them.

I, too, bought three pairs of pants. Not the stretchy kind, though. I need some things that are not shorts for my cruise and I know Nike golf pants and shorts fit me very well. I have one pair of long pants and several pairs of shorts so I bought another pair of pants in a different color and two pairs of Capri length pants. I got them yesterday and didn't even try them on because I know they'll fit. Why do I know? Because they are size 10 gosh-darn-it. Because my size 8 shorts of the same brand DO.NOT.FIT.

Perhaps a combination of blenderized extra-firm tofu and almond milk? Or how about using a vanilla-flavored vegan protein powder with only a little bit of water, to make a thick consistency? Maybe add some chia seeds to make it a little lumpy?

Thanks Andrea! I'll try all of those. I do have a very interesting vanilla vegan protein powder. It's made of pea shoots, artichoke, and sprouted amaranth and quinoa. The artichoke flavor comes through just the tiniest bit, but I've grown to like it even in fruit smoothies.
The PB2 discussion has inspired me to buy some more. Like Andrea, I struggle with the whole nut butters, but the PB2 sat in my pantry for months. I was too lazy to think of ways to use it, but now I'm ready.

A victory on a pants-o-meter: The warm weather forced me to dig cropped work pants out for today. I put them on and they nearly fell off. They were a bit loose months ago, but much more so now. Granted they're J Crew, so a serious "vanity size" effect is present, but regardless of the size it's still a win! Now I wish I'd bought the size down, I've only worn these twice.

ETA: Allison, I laughed at "rage sauce" for dinner; I know it's a typo but it still made me chuckle.

High five on the pants-o-meter, JZJ!
