Wednesday morning, weight up a tad from last night's pizza fest. Glad I only have two kids--I cannot imagine five! This is my DH's cousin and his wife. Oldest is 12, youngest about 2.

S-good 7 hours despite suddenly waking at 1 AM thinking it was time to get up. Thankfully, I fell back to sleep easily.
E-walking the dogs this evening
B-protein bar
L-salad and yogurt
D-pasta with squash

 Back home for some R&R.

I've ordered a beautiful green notebook (matches my red diary) for my food notes. I keep exercise notes in a column in my diary. There's too much going on in my world nowadays to remember anything unless I write it down. (I am hoping strongly that this will not continue as it just doesn't suit me. Or I'll just have to adapt, I suppose.)

JayZeeJay, so interesting about your husband and calories.

Thursday morning, weight down/same as yesterday. I didn't record, and don't remember.

S-good 7-8 hours
E-golf this afternoon
B-protein bar
L-not sure
D-breakfast

Friday morning, weight up slightly.
Golf was great yesterday. The course, private, was beautiful. Set deep within the desert, up against mountains, it was lush and vibrant with blooming cacti and flowers. I should have taken photos.

B-egg or yogurt
L-not sure
D-lasagna

I'm doing OK - the impending house sale is stressful, especially having to sanitize our daily living to the point that strangers can traipse through the home and visualize it as theirs. I realized that I packed my scale in the beginning of March in one of the large boxes now in storage, so I won't see it again until June. And I'm ok with that. Clothes have been just as useful as a metric. I have one pair of new jeans in particular that have zero stretch and are quite slim for the size number, so they're my new meter.

Saturday. Weight up again. Not unexpected--dinner was a little heavy last night.

S-good 7ish hours
E-golfing (horrible golfing, weather was beautiful)
B-protein bar
L-orange chicken from Panda
D-southwest chicken and corn quiche-like dish

alinnell 03-27-2016 12:00 PM

Sunday morning, weight unchanged from yesterday. This is still high--up two pounds over my 10 pound loss. If it doesn't come off in the next few days, March will be a bust for weight loss. Ugh.

B-skip
L-quesadilla
D-oso buco, risotto, roasted beans and Brussels sprouts

alinnell 03-28-2016 09:16 AM

Monday morning. I didn't even weigh myself because I know it'll be higher than yesterday. I've got to really bite the bullet and work on this weight loss.

alinnell 03-29-2016 09:20 AM

Tuesday morning, back to weighing in. Down from Sunday, so that much is good. Still off by 1.6 pounds from my 10 pound loss.

S-goodish 7-8 hours. Three bad episodes of hot flashes. We're babysitting DD's two cats and one dog so the household was a bit busier last night. And we're having a huge wind storm, so the noise was kind of bad most of the night. Our yard looks like armegeddon.
E-not sure, if the wind keeps up we'll skip our walk like we did last night.
B-1/2 bagel
L-leftover steak and risotto
D-steak and eggs

I'm doing okay this week. Had a really great week last week, and ended the week down 2.5 pounds from two weeks before. Didn't drink enough water, had some salty popcorn and a margarita over the weekend and then ended up with scheduling snafu takeout last night. Not going to weigh until tomorrow so the salt I know is there doesn't freak me out.

I'm working really hard on the meditation. I have been much more focused on it then the strict diet since January. Since the end of January my daily resting heart rate average on my FitBit has dropped from 79 bpm down to 63 bpm. I'm pretty proud of that. It is actually easier to exercise and eat better when my head is more focused. I just finished the 'balance' series, and am now doing the 'self image'. The focus is on not allowing negative chatter and self criticism to overtake the mind. Look at it, note it, move on from it. I'm heading into one of my most stressful times of the year at work and am pretty darn relaxed about it. Survived DSS's birthday party a few weeks ago without freaking out. I feel really good about that.

Allison - sorry about the hot flashes, hope you don't have any damage from the wind.

alinnell 03-30-2016 09:26 AM

Wednesday morning and things are looking up. Only .6 away from that 10 pound loss weight. Maybe I can do it by tomorrow or Friday?

S-good 7-8 hours. A couple hot flashes, but it was so cold last night that throwing the covers off for a minute or two cooled me right down.
E-depends on the weather. It's still windy, so we didn't go last night, but it is supposed to calm down today and then warm back up
B-bagel
L-salad and yogurt
D-chicken fried chicken

JayZeeJay 03-30-2016 12:07 PM

Allison, way to go on your "blip" recovery! I've been strangely motivated recently to eat well and not fear hunger, and it's been effortless unlike usual. It's interesting to not have a scale at home at the moment, because now I want the positive feedback of seeing results from a good few weeks. I suppose I could ride over to the campus gym if I'm really curious, but I think their scale is out in the exercise room. Not that I should care what hordes of students think, I've noticed that on the rare occasions that I use that gym, I seem to be totally invisible to them.

Shannon, it sounds like you have made a lasting improvement in your health with the meditation program. Is it a certain subscription that provides a series of programs for you to follow?

Shannon in ATL 03-30-2016 01:18 PM

JZJ - once you get past the first 30 days of the Foundation series all the other modules open up. You don't have to have a specific subscription level to get to them, all of them will do it. It took me some time to figure out how to find the others, as I didn't bother to watch the little tutorial on how to navigate the app. LOL

Sounds like me!

Well, I've been putting it off forever, but I finally made an appointment to see my Gyn about the hot flashes. I still have to wait 7 weeks, but I will get in before my vacation. I was hoping I could make it til my yearly exam, but this is getting worse by the day.

alinnell 03-31-2016 09:21 AM

Thursday morning, weight unchanged.

S-good 7 hours, only two hot flashes.
E-hopefully a dog walk today, the wind seems to have stopped and the temperature is going up
B-skip
L-salad and yogurt
D-some pasta and vegetable thing
