Birchie - I do an average with a monthly chart. Or used to, haven't been as on it as I used to be, but I'm getting back to it. Just read those articles, and I'm not sure how to process the lung thing.

I am very unscientific about weighing despite being a firm believer in science. It never occurred to me to weigh every day and then take an average. I'm going to try that starting tomorrow morning. I'll weigh every morning at the same time, before any consumption of anything, and average every 7 days. I'll average those #'s every 4 weeks and see what happens. Interesting!

The breathing thing is true: the products of metabolism are CO2 and H2O. Most water is eliminated as urine (and sweat), and most CO2 is eliminated through breathing.

That's part of why people lose weight overnight, I think.

My rolling monthly average proves that I have remained stubbornly at the same weight for nearly a year :>( I've also been logging my calories and exercise for the last 4 months, proving to myself that my calorie rolling average is 1640. Since that is a typical maintenance calorie range for a 5'2" reduced-obese person in her late 40s, my stable weight should not come as a surprise to me.

Not sure if this will show up, but I'm giving it a shot. This video moved me to tears. I wish women like this were around when I was younger. My DD, who is considerably overweight, has no problem with online dating or anything, really, whereas I always let weight hold me back. Women like the one in this video are my heros.

Birchie, I hope you were able to get your tooth problems sorted out. I only have dental insurance for about 15 more months, then I'm on my own. One big fear is that my teeth will start falling apart as soon as the insurance is gone.

Purge Weekend progress: I have made a large donation pile of clothes, plus I threw away my "chore shoes" which had holes above the big toes, and found another suitable pair to use. Also we took 10 sheep to auction this morning, leaving me with about 15 or 16. That's the least number of sheep I've had in 30 years, and I feel good about it given the sky high price of hay. I won't know how much they fetched until the check arrives next week .
