  • Quote: Thursday afternoon, August 9:
-5K run on bike path. Time 29:45. Not too bad!
    Wow girl! That's fast!
  • That **is** a great time, Krampus. I've been trying to get a 30-minute 5K. (Well, not trying hard enough, as I don't run very often.)

    Run like a deer, girl.
  • Saturday, Aug. 11th:

60 minutes spin class, with weight intervals
    60 minutes Pilates class

Feeling really wiped out today, as though I am crashing from a long period of tension. I did get through my workouts, though.
  • Quote: August 10: 60 minutes Zumba. Last day with dd and at her gym.

    Totals:
    8 days
    825 minutes
    Back from visiting dd.....

Went to Bikram Yoga in 105 degree weather. It was so hot during class-- I sweat more than I would have thought was humanly possible. I'm still having back issues but I'm just being careful during class.

    August 11:
100 minutes Bikram Yoga (instructor went way over the usual 90 minutes!)

    Totals:
    9 days
    925 minutes
  • Sunday, Aug. 12th:

20 minutes Stairmaster step mill, resistance at eight, aerobic intervals
60 minutes shoulders, biceps and triceps routine
40 minutes elliptical, intervals, from resistance of six to resistance of 11

Strange to be working out in the gym with the spin class and body bump class going on in other rooms. It was a little lonely, just me & a few dudes. But I don't want to take spin class five days in a row, as I've been doing.

    100 minutes Bikram Yoga again....

    Totals:
    10 days
    1025 minutes
  • Monday, Aug. 13th:

6 AM spin class, 45 minutes, a good start to the day
60 minute circuit training class, which I made despite stopping on a street corner to talk with one of the co-op board members about the plans to build the floodwall & how that was progressing.
  • Thanks! I am running a 5K in Sept and would like to also make that in under 30.

    Monday morning, August 13:
-Upper body routine minus bent over dumbbell rows because some meathead coach and his student put all their 80-90 lb dumbbells on the bench. How about some manners?
    -10 minutes very vigorous rowing.
  • Tuesday morning, August 14:
-15 minutes sprint intervals on treadmill
    -Kettlebell swings, lunges
  • Tuesday, Aug. 14:

20 minutes arc trainer, intervals, resistance at 10 and six
60 minute chest, shoulders and triceps routine

Back in the evening, despite my dragging energy
60 minute spin class, with weight intervals
  • Wednesday, Aug. 15th:

45 minute spin class, which was a struggle. My hamstrings and glutes were still horrendously sore from whatever we did on Monday night in circuit training. And I was just bodily tired. I nearly "bonked" as they say, and struggled to get through it.

I used a foam roller afterward and I just downed some aspirin. A good long shower is also going to help.
  • Tuesday evening, August 14:
-2 miles on bike path in 18:35 - not winning any races but I am totally winning against myself!

    Wednesday morning, August 15:
-Upper body routine, a bit rushed, pulled a muscle but increased weights and sets
-6 minutes on the stair stepper, woohoo
  • Quote: August 12:
    100 minutes Bikram Yoga again....

    Totals:
    10 days
    1025 minutes
    August 13: 90 bikram yoga

    August 14: 60 minutes UJam

August 15: traveled with dd to Arizona. No real workout today except getting up at 2:30 and hauling giant suitcases!
  • Thursday, Aug. 16th:

60 minutes, yes, a whole hour, on the Stairmaster at the nicer Upstate gym
Aerobic intervals, resistance at eight, and you better believe I held the rails after about 20 minutes
But this may have helped my sore legs
  • Friday, Aug. 17th:

Nobody on the roads, nobody in the streets
I feel it in the air
    The summer's out of reach.

20 minutes Stairmaster step machine, aerobic intervals, resistance at eight
60 minutes back and biceps routine
40 minutes back on Stairmaster, same setting, and grabbing the rails toward the end, pouring sweat, glad that I won't be on this machine at this gym as frequently as I've been for the past few months.
