Congrats on an awesome accomplishment!

The only thing that comes to mind if you want to drop a couple more would be to shift over to a high-green diet, if you're not already heavy on the leafy greens, etc. That may whittle off the last couple, over a period of time, and further support your already-healthy lifestyle. Yet and still, your body seems happy at your present, excellent weight.

Enjoy what you've done for yourself

I could have written your post, except I'm heavier than you are. I, too, picked 100 pounds as a good amount to lose. I know what I looked like the last time I was at about 152 and it looked great. I was also almost 30 years younger than I am now. I stopped at 90 pounds (and at age 60) because I started to get baggy. It's like my body is a size 10-12 but my skin is a size 14. I am just at the top of "average" for my height. I didn't want to stop losing, but my skin said I better or I'd look just as bad thin as I did fat. It was 100% vanity that stopped me. It took a long time for me to "allow" it. I've managed to maintain pretty easily, too. I'd have to get back into "diet mode" to lose more, and that just doesn't seem like it will happen. My skin is the same as it was 8 months ago and I have no real hopes at my age of that changing. So, I gave myself permission to lose just 90 pounds instead of 100, and said it's way better to be at the top of "average" than to be 5 pounds below "morbidly obese" and let it go at that. I've said all along that I'm going to try for the last 10 if my skin changes. Or if a doctor gives me a compelling health reason that these last 10 pounds mean as much as the 90 that are already gone.

You've done a great job in both losing and maintaining. Don't beat yourself up over a few pounds.

Lin

Thank you again ladies! What excellent advice. I am right there with you linJber.

I am nearing 50, and my skin is made for a much bigger body at this point. It looks as if everything has sagged. Even though I work on lifting and strengthening, the damage is done. Last year, I comfortably fit into a size 6, this year, I'm at an 8. I'm good with that, it's just that stupid 5 pounds.

Everything that you all have said has given me a lot to think about and I always really listen to advice and take it to heart. I don't ask a question, normally, unless it's something to which I really need to hear the answer. Aren't we all lucky that we've found a place to come where we can air our problems without being picked on and made fun of? I'm forever thankful.

Hi milmin! First, congratulations on your weight loss, you are an inspiration for many people.

I think I have successfully removed myself from my goal weight. I still weigh every day and have my red line weight but I'm focusing on being healthier, fitter, doing things to improve my quality of life, my wellbeing and trying not to forget to do things that I enjoy.

I focused my weight loss journey on making healthier choices. So I started giving up sugar on my coffee; limiting desserts to weekends; reducing my several times a week pasta and rice dishes to just once every two weeks and so on. Even though it's been a while since I have reached my goal weight I'm still focusing on doing healthier choices. Recently I have switched from skim milk, yoghurt and cheese to full fat so it's less processed; I have switched my third cup of coffee for tea; I have successfully removed my sugary afternoon snack for just yoghurt, fruit or nuts; I have been investigating the IF routines; I'm trying to bake without using sugar, I guess giving up sugar is one of my main concerns now.

But anyway, do you know the saying: We are what we eat. Even though it's true, we are so much more than that. I can give you a lot of examples of things I'm doing now. For my body, I have started weight training; I do exercises to improve my posture; I do yoga; I try to stretch a lot with mobility exercises and a foam roll, I think this is one of those things that you cannot do enough and your quality of life improves a lot; I also try to make toddler squats for some minutes everyday and try to work my pelvis and glutes. I have started biking to the gym instead of driving and doing my spin class there; I'm not very confortable on rollercoasters or with heights but I really enjoy being underwater and I'm looking forward to try scuba diving. I also would like to practice more belly dancing and ballroom dancing and be more active during the day and I'm trying to walk a bit everyday and get at least 15 minutes of sunshine whenever the sun is out.

Other things: I have switched my hair products for natural ones and my hair looks so much better. I'm also changing the rest of my beauty products for natural ones, next will be the cleaning products and one day I'd like to make my own soaps. I'd also like to make my own bread and yoghurt. This year I'm growing tomatoes for the first time and some coriander and basil, if things go well next year I'll add peppers and zucchini. These are just things that I enjoy and think are good for me.

My point is now you can probably concentrate more on other aspects or your well being always having in mind your good choices regarding foods and exercise. And enjoy where you are, there are so many people that would like to be in your place.

Congrats Milmin! The above is so true. Almost daily I have people tell me that they wish they were at my weight.

You and I are practically twins! I'm 49 and my highest weight was just a little higher than yours although I lost some of it and maintained at around 185 for 10 years before I lost to where I am today.

I was just thinking about this very thing today. I'm currently at the top of my redline and am finding that I'm there more often than I like. My lows are usually no more than a day now. Is this weight creep? Should I accept it? I haven't decided yet. I will say that I'm not freaked out about it but maybe I should be freaked out by the fact that I'm not freaked out! Is this complacency? Sorry I have no advice for you but I still wanted you to know that you are not alone. And btw, you look kick-a@@ in your atavar! Loose skin, yeah I have it but it's much better and continues to get better over time. We still look better that 75% of our peers so it's all good! to you!
