I saw that on his web site and couldn't figure out the difference between #1 and #3. Is it the doing exercise? The being happy with their weight? Successful on the first try as opposed to multiple tries?

Cluster 2. I thought I was Cluster 1 since I was able to maintain (albeit with many struggles) at my personal goal weight for about 5 years, but then went downhill the last 2 years. Now I am fighting hard again to get back there.

Since I've struggled with my weight all my life until "this time around"- I'm probably #2. But I FEEL like I'm #1 I'm definitely not depressed or having a hard time maintaining my weight (so far).

Ugh, I have no idea. My weight has been relatively stable for years. I have struggled with it for 30 years, though. I've been through a certain level of stress and depression (who the heck hasn't??). I was not overweight as a child, it started in puberty. I have been in my healthy range for 16 years, and as long as I stay in its high end, it's easy for me to maintain. I haven't historically used exercise to control weight, though I'm exercising now. It's like I picked an item from each cluster.

Hard to tell. Probably a mix of 2 and 3 with a bit of 1. Been overweight since puberty (which hit at 8-9 for me, so it overlapped with childhood), but it never depressed me either. I'm probably rather a 3 now in terms of maintaining my loss without too much difficulty. And 1 but not completely, because I'm kind of slacking on the exercise bit at times.
