Morning all,

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood here. Everyone in my office is feeling this weather. Yesterday we kept talking about how if felt like a Friday and we all had senioritis (you know at the end of high school or college when you just lose motivation bc you want to go play = senioritis). I'm glad I do get a minivacation when I take 2 or 3 days off from work next week to visit w my parents. I don't care if they decide they want to just relax at the house. I'll relax with them, lol. I'm waiting to see if BF catches some fish to prepare for my parents dinner Saturday evening, if not maybe I'll get some chicken, but whatever it is we will grill it! This is perfect grilling weather.

Dagmar, I hope you find your phone. You sound really drained right now. Take care of yourself sweetie. Sunday breakfast w friends sounds fun!

Michele, you're right, what a bad lesson this Mom is teaching her kid. I don't know any retail store that would take something back not in new condition.

Have a great day all.

EZ congratulations n your new granddaughter!! I will keep a close eye on you as a trouble maker!! We have twin granddaughters now three months old and sooo cute!!

I helped the economy yesterday as i made a contribution at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa!! We did have a great meal though at the steakhouse there. I only wish they would not allow smoking in the casino.

Have a great day everyone!!

We have a myriad of Indian casinos here in town, and I agree, I wish they didn't allow smoking! There is one that has a fabulous buffet that my old boss would take us to when it was someone's birthday. It was really reasonable and with all the choices available, even a dieter could get a good, healthy meal. I'd go more except for the smoke (and I'm an ex-smoker).

I'm not looking forward to the weekend. We have golf planned for Saturday, but as it gets closer, the forecast gets bleaker. I'm afraid if we do go, it'll be miserable. DH was playing golf at this same course about 6 weeks ago when the valley was hit with 60 mpg gusts of wind (during the Humana Challenge golf tournament which had to be closed down that day for wind). DH had to stop playing after 9 holes and they got a rain check for the remaining 9 which we were going to use Saturday, but now they're predicting more 60 mph winds! The destruction that occurs with winds like that is horrible.

Oh Dagmar, I hope you find your phone.

DH got up to exercise this morning at 6, giving me the last push I needed to get up and out for a run. 5.5 miles before the day really starts is a good feeling.

Gary - congrats on the new grandbaby! How did I miss that?

Dagmar, I agree - the most annoying thing about getting a new phone for whatever reason is setting up the new one and getting things to transfer. Hopefully your old phone will show up and you won't have to worry about it!

I had a fantastic dinner at one of the Apache casinos east of Phoenix and there are a bunch south of Tucson that are supposed to have phenomenal restaurants as well. But yes, smoking... at least pretty much every other restaurant these days is non-smoking so I usually don't go to a casino restaurant. While I don't like the smell, especially when it's stale and lingering on my clothing once I'm home, I do have a friend who smokes and really appreciates eating somewhere where she can enjoy her cig after dinner.

Shannon, great job on the run! I need some kind of motivation to do the same, but maybe not at 6 am (I am NOT a morning person).

Michele, I can't believe that kid's parent - what is with people today?

Dinner on the patio tonight sounds like a great idea. It's been in the low 80's here recently and just beautiful. I haven't even had to run the heat at night because even though it gets cold outside the house retains heat well (not so much a blessing in the summer, though) and by morning it only drops to 66 or so - chilly but for the gas bill savings I will wear a sweatshirt!

The phone saga continues. I now have to go to a special store to purchase a phone because I'm a pay-as-you-go customer. And all the phones for under $100, even though they are on display, are not available. Hmmm.

I have to return a pair of shoes in the same mall so that's not so bad. I will have to channel Cesar Millan at the phone store - calm and assertive, calm and assertive. If that doesn't work -

DH got some bad news and good news yesterday.

His weekend away is cancelled as his best buddy's mom died . We called them last night but they had already left for Sudbury to make funeral arrrangements. DH's friend is going to be taking his finals for teacher's college soon (he's 50 - I hang with a bunch of people who are really, really late bloomers) so I hope this doesn't unnerve him too much. His mom must have been in her late 70's/early 80's so it's less of a shock but still sad.

And it looks like DH will get the new job. I hope that cuts down on the whining so I too can start to enjoy life a bit again. It's so hard living with someone who is angry, depressed, and bitter all the time. I had expectations about DH when he got his accounting designation and I was sorely disappointed but I did not voice that to him every day - I came here and whined to you all .

So now I hope DH and I can start to develop some kind of plan for the future again and start going out a bit and trying to enjoy life.

Dagmar

Morning all,

TGIF! I was so exhausted by dinnertime last night I was snapping at BF. He went and sat on the couch and told me he was going to leave me alone for a few minutes. Luckily he understands I just needed to eat and get to bed and didn't mean any of it. I was outside in the sun yesterday doing field work, then did a NRLW workout at the gym, then walked the dog. No wonder I'm tired in the summertime! It's nowhere near summer yet and I was wiped out.

The energy in my office has been overwhelmingly negative and very draining on me lately. My co-worker is upset w her supervisor (who is not mine), and complains loudly to several of us often. Even though I understand her complaints, hearing them all the time has started to really get to me. There are several other tension-filled relationships. I'm not directly involved in them, nor do I want to be, but being around them is difficult enough. I'm ready for the summer field season. Can I just go outside, do my work by myself, and stay out of everyone's way? I'm taking the first 3 days off of next week for my parent's visit and am looking forward to the break!

Dagmar, I hope DH likes this job more than the last. GL getting a new phone for not too much $.

Shannon, way to get your run in!

Allison, hmm, maybe you should plan an indoor activity for this weekend instead? Sorry the weather is ruining your golf game.

Gary, I missed it too. Congrats on the new grandbaby! How exciting!

Have a good Friday and a great weekend everyone!

It's supposed to arrive here tomorrow. Temperatures here have been wonderful--low 80's and sunny. This weekend, they expect highs will be around 58 with wind and rain. Do you have wind?

Not too much wind, but lots of rain. It hasn't been too cold, but the cold is coming. I signed Dewey up for a dachshund meetup tomorrow and bought him a St. Patrick's Day t-shirt, but I think we'll be rained out.

If I can just make it through today, the bookfair will be over until October..... I think I can, I think I can....

Dagmar-- I hope this new position brings dh some peace, which will in turn bring you some too.

Megan-- I'm sorry for the drama. You are smart to stay out of it.

No rain here yet, but they are calling for thunderstorms this evening. When I want to be cutting the grass. Ack.

Fly-by since I've been busy at work... All's well here, finally getting my food logged and under control. Weight is slightly down. Planning some outdoor activity this weekend since the weather has been great!

That's why I had to give it up and start drinking tea. In my coffee chugging days quickly turned to and then to .
