Struggling through the processed food withdrawals. I am so sleepy I can't think straight, and it's making me obsess over those dang Cheezits. I ended up writing "295" in ballpoint pen on the back of my hand (that was my last total cholesterol reading) to keep my best reason not to do it in front of me. Couple more days, and things will be okay. Sigh. I'm going to bed early tonight.

Oh, so excited! I just got my new appliance from Amazon. I don't know why I was looking, but I found and ordered a combo pressure cooker, slow cooker and rice cooker and it just arrived. I meant to give my DD the rice cooker/steamer that I have now as well as the crock pot and I forgot. Now I'll have to find room to store those until her next visit.

It's a funny thing about Cheezits. There are some who like them (DD) and some who don't (me). I'm more of a goldfish person. There's something too fake tasting about Cheezits.

Becky, I feel so groggy after a carb overload (often processed) and also- my teeth feel way more grimy in the morning- even tho nothing in my oral hygiene routine changes = I do brush my teeth, every night.

The combo cooker sounds neat, Allison! We have one of each of those things ... and boy, they do take up the room. DH's pressure cooker is one of the biggest made; he's a canning maniac!

My relationship with Cheezits is irrational. I can't defend it. Happily, DH is one of those who doesn't care for them, so they're never brought into the house. He has a strange affinity for M&Ms, which I won't eat because they're mediocre chocolate and the colors ... eek! Negative reinforcement has done its job there.

shannon - glad to hear you had a good moment for a change! You've weathered plenty of rough ones with DS. :)

kitty, glad to see you again! Yes, I'm just a junkie in recovery this week. While this bender was low on the spectrum of "flashback eating", it seems to take less and less of it to have negative effects. Lots of maintainers have written about this - that tolerance for junk gets lower and lower with the years of following the healthy path. The good news that I can cling to this week is just maybe, I might be moving toward that category!

KC - exciting TV thing sounds good. I'll try to put myself in your shoes and regime. I think my tele days are over but I actually looked rather better on screen the few times I was interviewed than I thought I would. Interesting. I can't put my finger on it.

Bedtime for me. Chicken worked well (spicy wings for lunches & thighs with lemon and bay, rice, kale for tea). And although I'm going to sleep, the SO is making spicy, delicious chickpeas whilst he reads a chapter of someone's thesis. That will help with the daily round, the common task tomorrow or the next day.

But I must turn away from sugar. It has to be tiredness and too much to do making me turn to it.

I researched the pressure cookers out there- couldn't commit to all the work of canning. I do need a bigger crock pot- I'm one below the largest- NEED the largest!

And I love cheesits and goldfish equally

I also equally love Cheezits and Goldfish. And I used to love Tidbits, though you can't find those anywhere anymore.

silver, sweet dreams! Tomorrow will hopefully be more in line with your preferred routines, and we can get back to imagining you at your ravishing best for the wedding this summer. I am also looking forward to closing out this day and its distractions.

I didn't buy it for canning. I think I got it for the pressure cooker part. I had a stove-top pressure cooker that got ruined a few years back and I'm afraid to use it again. (My mom was cooking potatoes in it for Thanksgiving and she forgot about it and they burned and I can't get the burnt smell out so I'm afraid anything else I cook in it will taste bad. I don't know if my reasoning is right or not but I'm afraid to try). Anyway, I saw that the best way to hard boil eggs is in a pressure cooker, so yeah, I just spent $99 to boil eggs... Go figure. But this is the one I got--it's larger than my current crock pot, so that much is good.

Much better this morning after a full night's sleep, the right breakfast, and a jaunt on the treadmill. 1.5 of the 3.5 came off. I did make a discovery that might be a big one - the little sample toothpaste that I have in my travel bag is a Crest product. Blue food coloring. :mad:

I have noticed for several years that is difficult to find white toothpaste. The Crest I have is a pale green, a nice color but I prefer white toothpaste.

I've become a fan of Tom's of Maine toothpaste brand. There are several varieties. I don't recall which one I'm using currently, but I can tell you that it isn't blue, and as far as I know, contains no food coloring.

Saying hi to Kitty! There you are! But I must confess I don't recall the details of your TV opportunity. What's going on? Are you going on a talk show? (Tell me it's not Maury Povich in Stamford CT. Please.) Or going to host a talk show? Become a weather girl?

I'm trying to keep calm and carry on as the first of my two presentations for today approaches. We'll see whether the facial that I booked for this evening is as soothing as last Tuesday night's massage, which also occurred before the 10:30 PM session for the Asia Pacific analysts.

My email inbox is full of unrest. There's an angry tenant at our complex who now claims no work has been done on our apartments for seven weeks. (I find that hard to believe, as I was there five weeks ago and some things weren't done then are now done, as I saw on my Saturday visit.) He also says the co-op board has met three times in two weeks, maybe over the work stoppage. There is always one angry fed-up person in a crowd who starts shouting. The thing is, should we all give credence to this person, or should we hold back and gather more information? In my experience, it's not always best to immediately take up with the mob leader, even though he's voicing some of the frustration that I myself am holding back.

I am trying to plan a brisk walk outside after I get off my 11 AM presentation. In my experience, I am wound up & full of excess adrenalin after these things, and I don't want to eat to excess, though it will be lunchtime.
