My weight is going up and up and up. I really hope I'm just retaining fluid due to my cold or whatever it is. I'm hoping to get to the gym tonight as I know I'm not contagious anymore but I also have no energy. UGGGHHH.:o:p:?::devil:

Nov. 18: none. I drove to the gym planning on going to hip hop but kept coughing so I turned around and went home. :?:

Nov. 19: 60 minutes Zumba. It was hard as I'm still not 100% and I haven't been at the gym much!

Totals: 15 days
850 minutes

Michele, take heart, and do not fear. You are recovering. This bout of illness is not forever. You will be back to your previous level of fitness & your weight will stabilize. And in a short time, in your memory this will just become a brief bump, a little cold that you got over. Really.

I say this as someone else who's also freaked out about not getting to the gym, but who had to take two weeks off earlier this summer, due to an inner ear virus & associated vertigo & nausea.

Hang in there as you return to your regularly scheduled programs. You'll be up to speed very, very shortly.

Saturday, November 20:
45 minute spin class
60 minutes Pilates

How are you feeling, Michele? Time off now to get better properly will really pay off. You'll bounce back stronger.

For me, an hour stacking logs and lifting heavy bits of wood about. (I'm planning wood shelter number 2. I have located half a dozen big pallets along the road and the DB has already carved a lintel, "Ye Olde Woode Sheltere". It's Arts and Crafts style here: number 1 has louvred panels!)

Thanks for the "well" wishes Saef and Silverbirch. I know not to freak out but I do every time. I am just hardwired that way I think. My weight is starting to come back down and I feel somewhat better. Not great yet, but I did make it to the gym today and yesterday.

Wasn't really "feeling it" when I was getting ready to run today. Decided to do a little more than 5 miles, and gave myself permission to go as slowly as I needed to.

But it was a great day for a run.

November 20:
10.4 mile run
102 minutes

Sunday, November 21:
15:07 rowing on Concept II, 2:28 500 meters, 2,893 meters, 40 s/m, projected 5,910. (I was slightly overcaffeinated for this workout, which helped.)
60 minutes weights
45 minute spin class

Ah, the pushup. Nothing could be simpler, or more deadly. Just when I think I've got more upper-body strength, I try a few of these & am utterly humbled.

Sunday, Nov 21:
4 mile speedwalk

paperclippy 11-22-2010 02:09 PM

Nov 19: rest
Nov 20: ran 3 miles with doggie, plus warmup and cooldown walks, 36:23 for the run portion
Nov 21: biked 11 miles, 1:07. How slow am I? But there was a massive headwind the whole way home and I almost gave up and called for DH to pick me up, so at least I made it. Normally I can do 11 miles in less than 50 minutes.

Ran my 5K loop today--only took about 2 minutes to psych myself into it!

saef 11-22-2010 09:50 PM

Monday, Nov. 22:
45 minutes arc trainer, hill intervals, resistance at 8
60 minutes circuit training class, for which only five of us showed up, in a class that usually has 16 people & a waitlist. It's the approaching holiday that took out all the women.

Being at the gym helped, as I am grieving today for my father, on the second anniversary of his death from stomach cancer.

thesame7lbs 11-22-2010 10:42 PM

Saef,

Jessica, way to keep at it with the headwind!

Monday, November 22
4 mile treadmill run
Can't remember the time! (partially cause I stopped to go the the bathroom and the treadmill reset on me, and partly because I did sprints so it wasn't a round number like when I plug along at the same speed)

saef 11-23-2010 09:27 AM

Tuesday, Nov. 23:

15:06 rowing on the Concept II, 2:31 500 meter, 2,873 meters, 41 s/m, projected 5,838 meters
60 minutes weights
45 minute spin class in the evening

AmytheSame, thank you.
