Default Maintenance and Travel

I have my first challenge to maintenance coming up in one week. And I would like some guidance from the seasoned chickies out there.

I'm going on an 8 day vacation- first to Chicago to stay with friends. And then 5 days in Detroit for a music festival.

In the old days, I lost weight on vacation b/c I was nowhere near my refrigerator, which was my source of overeating. This time, I'm worried because I won't be near my refrigerator, which is my source of balanced meals chock full of veggies.

I think my greatest fear is that I will give up and feast on junk food during the trip. I know that it is very well possible to eat on plan. After all, Chicago & Detroit have plenty of grocery and produce stores. But temptations will be everywhere. And my travel companions will likely be eating pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and funnel cake for meals. I need to rid myself of the concept that I will be depriving myself if i don't eat the funnel cake.

So I need any advice I can give, especially motivational support. Also, are there online tools that I can put on my Android. I don't do any online food tracking now, but maybe I should do that for accountability.

Thanks for your help.

heeelloooo!!!

first of all: whoooohooo on holiday! it sounds lovely!!!
i went to greece and eventually ended up gaining some weight--which came off quickly when i got back home and on plan.

the advice is this: balance you having fun AND making the right choices. accept it won't be the same as it is when you're at home but also accept that whatever you do you will end up managing it.

if you gain a pound or two while on holiday--shift it as soon as you're back.

relax and enjoy your holiday. make the right choices---> and usually frankly on holiday it usually means chosing the lesser of two evils.

that's all from me!
