Default Health Magazine Announcement, anyone write in?

The announcement has been posted for several weeks now about the Health Magazine "I did it" feature. I sent an email around 3 weeks ago and never heard anything. Anyone else write in? Anyone ever hear back?

I'm kind of naughty sometimes, so if the Health Magazine people ever actually read on here they wouldn't want to feature me anyway.

Lori please. Any magazine should be thankful to have the likes of you on their pages. Really now. WHAT an inspiration and incredible story you have.

Actually I think your story is too big for Health Magazine. I think you should write into Oprah.

Oh shucks ladies, I wasn't "Fishing", but thanks for the kind words.

I really just wondered why Health Magazine asked that the announcement be made here at 3FC, and then never even bothered to followed up on my email...not even a "thanks but no thanks letter". Oh well, hopefully there have been SO many people who have successfully lost weight and wrote in that they have been overwhelmed with responses.

I wrote into "Country Woman" magazine once to have them feature my kitchen in their popular country kitchen segment, and I did get a reply at least. They said my kitchen looked more like an urban kitchen. I didn't realize it had to look country, I thought it just had to be in the country...lol

I think you have a great story. Have you thought about Prevention magazine?

Woman's World--is that the magazine that's kind of newspapery instead of glossy? If so, a girl from where I work was featured in that magazine several years ago. She participated in the Gold's Gym challenge and it involved eating a lot of apples (which is easy when you live in Washington state). Anyway, she place very high in the contest and so she was featured in the magazine. It was a very positive experience for her!

I also had a very positive Women's World experience (I was on the cover in Oct of 08. They do tend to sensationalize things (ie, they asked me what the most I lost in one week was, and then the lead of my story was "Lose 24 lbs by Thanksgiving!", which was my first week's loss of 8 lbs x the four weeks until then), but if you're careful what you say, they do report you accurately.

I would have submitted to Health, but I'm not old enough. I'm still considering a submission to Shape, but want my shoulder to be better so I can buff out my arms a bit more before submitting my before and afters.

I was in Woman's Day - in an article written by MileHiMama (she was also featured in the article)! I didn't make the cover, the cover had a cake on it I was thrilled by the entire experience, bought 3 copies of the magazine!

LOL Glory, it always cracks me up how magazines like Woman's Day always have a headline about weight loss and a big fat cake on the cover.

ROFL--well come on now. A cake is some pretty stiff competition! LOL.

btw, I was asked to share my journey with a major newspaper back during New Year's Resolution time. I couldn't do it.
