Jason did the romantic proposal thing this weekend! He booked us a little cabin on the water at Paradise Point (a resort in San Diego near Sea World) for the weekend. We went to a fancy restaurant for dinner on Friday night – all dressed up. They brought out dessert under a silver dome and the ring was in its box on the plate. Even though we had talked about it, I had no idea it was going to happen then. We both got teary and it was really beautiful and special.
It was the first time in my life I was too excited to eat dessert. I had like 2 bites and couldn’t eat anymore! The Proposal Diet - maybe I could write a run-away bestseller weightloss book??
The ring is gorgeous – Jason had it made. From the top, it’s a fairly classic 3 stone ring, but he had some special personal touches added to the sides. There are leaves and vines and a flower with a diamond in it, and a tiny purple stone hidden at the bottom (since purple is my favorite color). It’s very sweet and romantic and one of a kind! I will definitely have to get some better pictures, the jeweler was a real artist and did some beautifully detailed work in the etching.
I attached some pictures: sorry they aren’t great quality, they were taken with my iPhone at the hotel. I told Jason he has to get his fancy camera out and take some great pics this week so I can share!
The rest of the weekend was pretty awesome – we had poolside massages and meals by the water and walked on the beach. On Saturday, we got the news that the developer accepted our house offer. We are headed over at 2:00 to start the paperwork!
Congratulations- I'm from San Diego so that sounds wonderful!
I think the ring is beautiful!
haha do what I did when I got engaged- I'd stop and suddenly say? Do you hear that?! And when people would say what? I'd put my ring to my ear and say "oh it's just my ring saying I LOVE YOU" lol
Congratulations! How very exciting! What a romantic proposal and the ring is gorgeous! How very special to have it made with things that are special to you. I would love to see closer pics! I want to see the purple as it is my fave color too!
When we lived in S. Africa, I had tanzanite jewelry designed. It is so special to me because we designed it. (and it is somewhat purple too!)
Wow. Just WOW!! How sweet and thoughtful and romantic and incredible and, and, and....... That ring is gorgeous and that he went to so much trouble to have it specifically made - makes it even more gorgeous and oh so special. The whole weekend sounds - spectacular. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding, when is it going to be, by the way? And congratulations on the house as well.
Congratulations Jen!!! You've always talked about what a wonderful guy Jason is. I know he'll be an even more wonderful hubby and you'll be very happy together. What a romantic proposal! Congratulations on the house, too.
