Hi!
Meg kindly invited me to start posting on the maintenance forum, even though I still got pounds to lose
I figure I might as well getting to know people in the maintenance forum, since it won't be too long (I hope!) before I reach my target goal
My weight loss journey started 2 years this coming May when I had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones (in relation to morbid obesity). I then lost 101 lbs over the course of the next 8-9 months (not doing anything crazy, just walking on a treadmill for 45 minutes on average, 6 day a week and eating a healthy diet of at least 1,200 calories or above).
I then was hit with reality and gained about half of the weight back since I just wasn't able to handle all the comments, along with depression, and some additional minor surgery that all occurred about the same time of reaching a 101 lb milestone.
I ate throughout the spring and summer of last year, then realized last fall in September that I wasn't happy eating starchy carbs or sugar (my choice of drug since childhood) and eliminated them via The Rosedale Diet (book is available on amazon and the author's website on this book is drrosedale (dot) com) which I follow to this day.
I've since lost the additional 50 lbs I gained, and nearly an additional 20 lbs more
Now, it's just a struggle to lose more in general as my weight loss slows to a crawl these days! I'm still losing, but it's not as much as I'd like to see these days.
That's my story in a nutshell about my weight loss journey.
Glad to meet everybody here!!
