Default No Excuses! Food and Exercise Accountability 10/13-10/19

Did not behave well this weekend. Leftovers were foisted upon me after the catering event I helped with Friday night. I ate an entire loaf of garlic bread (a big loaf) by myself in 2 1/2 days. Of course I felt terrible and was tired all weekend (carb hangover, anyone?) but I kept eating it. Sigh. I was just really disappointed in myself because I finally had a good week last week.

Healthy food planned and prepped for this week.

Monday's plan:
B - mini ww bagel, 1 T. lt cream cheese, 1 oz. lox, 1 c. skim milk, coffee w/ skim
S - sm banana
L - 1/2 oat bran pita bread w/ 2 1/2 oz. boneless skinless chicken, 1 c. cauliflower & 1 c. carrots
S - 1/2 oz. almonds, 6 oz. ff yogurt, small apple
gym - exercise a lot. um, yeah. I need to write down my plan for the week.
D - leftover skinless chicken, roasted asparagus

My weekend was, once again, a weird exercise in ditching the "All or nothing" thinking. Was it OP? Heavens, no. But I tend to go into that "well, today is an off day, so lets EAT EAT EAT" and I didn't do that...just ate normal amounts of slightly off plan food.

Today's plan:
B - English muffin w/ egg, sausage
S - Apple
L - Leftover roasted veggie pasta w/ ground chicken, tomato sauce
S - Yogurt
S - Popcorn
D - Giant salad from local salad bar while I go do my grocery shopping for the week - grilled chicken, mixed greens, all the veggies I want, and a few croutons. Then I'll add a laughing cow wedge and spray dressing when I get home.
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

E - 60 min elliptical (Done!) and 75 min strength training (going right now!)

I had a really weird night last night. I had a weird "super hungry" bingy moment and ended up eating a biscotti and a big handful of goldfish after dinner. And I know it sounds ridiculous - who in their right mind worries about eating a 140 calorie biscotti and about the same number of calories in whole grain goldfish crackers? I felt pretty bad about it. I managed to stop eating by making a cup of hot tea with a little honey in it. I got it really hot and then sipped slowly on it for a long time and that seemed to do the trick.

It was just weird, I very rarely eat after dinner!

So today, I am trying to be back on track!

B - Voskos no fat greek yogurt with honey (130 calories), sliced strawberries

L - huge salad with romaine, edamame, sliced water chestnuts, purple cabbage, carrot shreddies, red onion, grape tomatoes, mandarin oranges, sliced teriyaki chicken breast (from Trader Joes), 2 tbs spicy asian peanut vinaigrette. I had a little container of cashews and crunchy wonton bits to put on top, but I completely forgot!

S - plum

S - cheese string (80 calories), mini pickles

D - leftover home made beef stew (chuck roast was buy 1 get 1 free!!!), 1 sourdough roll

I guess my plan for today never made it on here - so far, I'm right on it...

B - English muffin pizza w/ light cheese
S - Apple
L - Tuna melt (1 can tuna, light bread, light cheese, pickles)
S - Greek yogurt
S - Popcorn
D - Homemade beef stew
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

Extra - 1 glass of wine while I get my hair done - my stylist is a friend, Sar and I go together, and we always have a glass of wine.

Ha, you're pretty brave. Not sure if I want my stylist boozin' it up during a hair cut Of course, your hair looks pretty fabulous, so maybe you're on to something!

It's just one glass! She's a really good girlfriend of ours, and we're all so busy that we get almost no social time, so our hair and wine is perfect for us. And the hair comes out well every time, so there you have it.

Today was OP - switched my dessert for a baked apple with a quarter cup of ice cream, which is probably healthier than my standard and just sounded delicious and fall-like.

Ok, onto tomorrow:
B - English muffin pizza
S - Apple, Yogurt
L - Leftover beef stew w/ veggies
S - Greek yogurt
S - Popcorn
D - Grilled lemon garlic chicken skewer, creamy polenta, steamed broccoli
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar
And if I get snacky (I've been a little crave-ish lately, for chocolate...weird for me) I have a supply laid in of sugar free jello pudding cups...one of those generally takes care of a rampant chocolate craving.

E - 60 elliptical
30 yoga

Rough night for me.
I came home from work to four extremely rowdy, would absolutely not listen children who only wanted to wrestle and scream. I was exhausted, exhausted and very hungry and wanted to fast track mellow time and get my guys to bed. As I realized this was just not to be, I stayed in the kitchen with a tablespoon and the peanut butter jar along with the fruit only jam for a little pb/j party. Which then extended to a 100 cal chocolate bar.... and another, this time with peanut butter.
So, ok... I could have wrapped it up with a cup of hot tea and tallied the caloric cost. Unfortunately I adopted that what can I eat?? attitude that rachets up daily counts by the hundreds in a blink of an eye.

Ok, fine. Now I'm done. I am a bit concerned that this is related to my current chronic concern of gaining back the weight. It does seem silly that my overeating has to do with fear of the very same thing... but for me, that is downright possible. You know, bad cycles... throw it all to ****??

Ironically last night was the very first night I logged in all my next day cals except for dinner for which I was planning to make tilapia.
Now, I'll make it for DH. If there are leftovers I'll eat them for lunch tomorrow.

What I would like to do is set a fitness goal so I take my panic-y focus off the scale and onto mentally and physically productive arenas. I'll continue this in exercise.

THX for *listening*

I'm having a rough patch in my life right now, and last night I jerked myself up and said "this is not an excuse to keep eating so poorly." On that note, here's today's plan:

B - oatmeal w/ raisins, walnuts, 1% milk
S - 1/2 bagel w/pb
L - chili over salad
S - apple, 1oz sharp cheese
D - 3 oz pork chop, squash, salad
